Just then, someone approached him with tickets to a water park. He decided to take Evelyn to the water park, hoping to cheer her up. Little did he know they would run into Kevin there. It struck him that Evelyn was upset because of his cold treatment towards Kevin. If he treated Kevin better now, Evelyn might not hold it against him.
"Let's go, Kevin, you're on your own anyway," Evelyn said, though she didn't feel particularly touched by her husband's efforts. She found him increasingly hypocritical. She had longed for her husband's affection, sacrificing her dignity, only to be constantly ignored.

Evelyn appeared delighted, seating Kevin next to her and Barrett opposite them. Despite Barrett's inner discontent, he had to maintain a facade of generosity, smiling as he watched Kevin and his wife sit together. He assumed Evelyn wanted to discuss Albert with Kevin, as she cared deeply about their son, who was introverted and rarely communicated with his parents at home. Evelyn must have wanted to learn about their son's well-being through Kevin. Little did he know that Kevin had already bedded Evelyn, even on the same bed where he and Evelyn slept every night.
