Chapter 1665
She stepped out of the changing room and spotted Patty, Laura, and Lucy chatting by the pool. Kevin and Albert were nowhere in sight, which struck her as odd. "Hey Patty, where's Albert?" she asked.
"No clue, I've looked around twice," Patty replied with a light laugh. "Maybe some girl lured him away."
"Don't be ridiculous," Evelyn frowned slightly, glancing at Laura and Lucy. Although Albert hadn't said anything, it was clear that the girls who came along had a close relationship with both Albert and Kevin. She just didn't know which one Albert liked and which one Kevin was interested in. However, she personally preferred the straightforward Laura over the more sophisticated Lucy.
The four of them stood by the pool in their swimsuits, a striking combination of young women and mature ladies. Their four pairs of beautiful legs left the nearby men staring in awe, with some bold enough to approach and strike up a conversation, only to be swiftly dismissed by the feisty Patty.
"Forget it, let's not wait for them. Let's hit the hot springs," Evelyn said, growing tired of the men swarming around them.
Laura and Lucy wanted to play in the pool for a while, so the group split up. Evelyn and Patty headed outside together. Both sisters had stunning figures and pretty faces, drawing the attention of passersby who couldn't take their eyes off them, nearly bumping into the nearby decorative trees.
"These people are so annoying. Haven't they seen women before?" Evelyn pulled her white robe tighter. She usually led a very simple life and rarely went to crowded places, feeling uncomfortable under those blatant stares.
"Let them look. It's not like it costs anything," Patty said, deliberately shaking her chest. However, her cup size was a bit smaller than Evelyn's, so she couldn't achieve the same dramatic effect. Patty had a naturally slim build and never gained weight no matter how much she ate, unlike Evelyn, who gained weight easily, making her body soft and curvy, with her breasts particularly full and enticing.
"You're getting more and more out of control since your divorce," Evelyn huffed, frowning. "Patty, you should find someone to marry soon. Being single isn't a long-term solution."
"Evelyn, give it a rest. We're here to have fun today, not to talk about depressing stuff," Patty gestured dismissively. "Even Dad doesn't nag me anymore. Why do you have to?"
"Of course I do. I'm your sister. If I don't look out for you, who will?" Evelyn was exasperated. Patty had become a constant worry for her. The Allen family was quite well-known in Harmony County, but Patty's rebelliousness had always been a source of shame for their father, who had become increasingly reclusive and aged significantly over the years.
"I don't need you to look out for me," Patty said nonchalantly. "I've seen through it all. Marriage is pointless. It's much better to be free like this. I can do whatever I want. If you marry the wrong person, you'll just end up angry and worried all the time. Women shouldn't be angry, right?"
Evelyn was so frustrated she didn't know what to say. Patty, however, pulled her arm and said, "Alright, Evelyn, I do think about what you say. But good men are hard to find. It takes time. Give me a bit more time. By the way, how's Albert doing this semester? Any progress?"
"You," Evelyn sighed. "Albert has turned over a new leaf. He's been studying and reading a lot lately, not even playing games. I don't know what's gotten into him."
"Isn't it obvious? Birds of a feather flock together. He's friends with Kevin, and Kevin is such a good student. Boys are competitive and have their pride."
"Yes, Kevin is indeed a good kid."
Evelyn nodded, feeling a pang of bitterness. If only she hadn't slept with Kevin, she wouldn't have to endure the pain of having and then losing him. She understood Kevin's choice; having an affair with a friend's mother was a heavy moral burden, one that a sixteen-year-old boy couldn't bear.
They reached the large pool where Cynthia, Kevin, and Albert had soaked earlier. Patty got into the water, showing a look of bliss as she kicked the water with her delicate feet. "This is the life. Evelyn, let's come here once a week. It relieves fatigue, promotes blood circulation, improves skin elasticity, and the minerals in the hot spring are great for beauty."
"Not everyone has as much free time as you," Evelyn said as she got into the water, but instead of sitting at the bottom like Patty, she sat on the steps, soaking only her legs and hips. "I have to buy groceries, cook, do laundry, clean the house. Do you think being a housewife is easy?"
"I think you're just making it hard on yourself. Barrett doesn't eat at home, and Albert's in his second year of high school. Let him eat at the school cafeteria," Patty said with a grin. "Look at other directors' wives. They either travel or go to beauty salons every day. You should learn from them. Spend money where it counts and treat yourself better."
"That's easy for you to say. Albert is already short. The school cafeteria food isn't nutritious. I'm just trying to make sure he gets enough nutrients."
Evelyn thought of Kevin's tall stature. He and her son were the same age, but there was such a height difference. Even their dicks were vastly different in size. Thinking of Kevin's impressively long dick made her feel an itch in her private parts, and she couldn't help but squeeze her thighs together to suppress the sensation.
"That's true. Albert is a bit short. He does need more nutrients."
Patty reminisced about her nephew running around as a child, feeling a bit nostalgic. So many years had passed, and she had gone from a young girl to a divorced single woman. She acted carefree, but who understood her pain? After experiencing a man like Lawrence, she had developed a fear of men and found it hard to think about marriage again.
But she quickly shook off the sad thoughts and smiled. "By the way, I heard Albert's homeroom teacher changed?"
"Yeah, the previous one, Ms. Garcia, became the assistant director of the office. Now they have Ms. Johnson, Kevin's cousin," Evelyn said. "She seems competent. The parents' group has good things to say about her. Kevin even represented Starfall Town in a writing competition and placed in the top eight, the only one from Starfall Town."
"That's impressive. Kevin is really something," Patty said. "Evelyn, with winter break coming up, you should invite Ms. Johnson for a meal. Build a good relationship with her so she can look after Albert. Junior year is crucial. We can't afford to be careless."
"Yeah, I've thought about it. Maybe in a few days," Evelyn nodded, a hint of hesitation in her eyes. She wanted to connect with Audrey more, but since Audrey was Kevin's cousin and she had that secret relationship with Kevin, she felt guilty and didn't dare face Audrey.
As they chatted, a group of four or five boys approached from a distance. They looked a few years younger than Albert, probably middle schoolers, with dyed hair, earrings, and tattoos. They sat in the pool, playing and having fun. One red-haired boy even lit a cigarette, filling the pool area with smoke.
Seeing the boys' eyes on her ample chest, Evelyn frowned and quickly submerged her upper body in the water.
The red-haired boy finally looked away and started bragging to his friends about his conquests at school, occasionally taking a puff and letting the ash fall into the water.
Patty, annoyed, said, "Hey, no smoking here. Have some decency, will you?"
The red-haired boy looked at Patty's pretty face, took a drag, and blew a smoke ring. "You soak in your bath, I'll smoke my cigarette. Want one?"
The boys around him laughed, clearly not taking Patty seriously. Evelyn, worried about trouble, tugged Patty's arm and whispered, "Let's just move to another spot."
"Why should we?" Patty refused, extending her hand to the red-haired boy. "Fine, give me one."
The boy, taken aback, handed her a cigarette. Patty took it, lit it with his, and took a drag, elegantly blowing a smoke ring. "This cigarette is low quality. Why not smoke a cigar? That's real smoking."
The boys were stunned by Patty's actions. The red-haired boy, now less cocky, explained, "This is my dad's brand. They all smoke this. Cigars are too expensive."
"If you can't afford cigars, what kind of thug are you?" Patty mocked, flicking the cigarette into a nearby trash can. She stood in the middle of the pool. "You think dyeing your hair and getting tattoos makes you gangsters? You're nothing. Which school are you from?"
"Vocational school," the red-haired boy said timidly, his eyes on Patty's long, shapely legs. Vocational school students were mostly from nearby villages or factories, often troublemakers just trying to get a diploma. Teachers didn't care much, and they spent their days chasing girls and fighting.
"No wonder. Your parents work hard to send you to school, and you waste your time like this. Do you think it's cool?" Patty sneered. "Do you know what people think of you? Trash! Useless!"
"Who are you to say that?" the red-haired boy stood up, "You have no right to insult me. I'll get my brother to..."
Patty cut him off, stepping closer with her chest out. "Go ahead, try to mess with me right now. Dare you?"
"Patty, enough. Let's not stoop to their level. Let's go," Evelyn stood up, her larger chest bouncing, leaving the boys staring, their cocks hardening and straining against their swim trunks.
