Chapter 579 Mature Woman
"By the way, I've packed all the food. Tomorrow, you go to Mrs. Garcia's house first, then to your godmother's house. Mrs. Garcia always takes care of you, so you should show some appreciation," Bethany said, feeling relieved.
"Alright, Mom, I'm going to bed now," Kevin replied.
Kevin returned to his bedroom, reflecting on the eventful day. He had a heated argument with the sisters Evelyn and Florence, received sensual service from Natalie, spent the afternoon with Kimberly, had a barbecue with Fiona in the evening, and tomorrow he had plans to meet Alissa and Grace. The day after tomorrow, Audrey and Vanessa would be back, making him even busier.
He wondered how many men envied his busy schedule. After all, these women were all top beauties in the county, and ordinary men could only dream, but Kevin had been intimate with all of them.
Kevin felt incredibly lucky. As a regular high school student, he was being sought after by so many mature women. What more could he ask for? The only regret was that Audrey had not accepted him yet. However, Kevin was patient and believed that one day Audrey would come around, and that day wasn't too far off.
Thinking about the seductive body of Yan Jie, Kevin couldn't help but feel a surge of heat. He reached into his underwear, grasping his already hardening member and began to stroke it vigorously.
Meanwhile, at a high-end restaurant in Starfall Town, Audrey was feeling impatient as she glanced at her phone. It was already ten o'clock, but the man in front of her showed no signs of leaving. He was still discussing life with her, and she regretted agreeing to dine with him.
In the afternoon, Angus suddenly called Audrey, saying that the training session was ending and he wanted to treat her to a meal out of courtesy.
Audrey had intended to decline, but Angus was so sincere that she couldn't refuse. Knowing that they wouldn't meet again in the future, she accepted his invitation.
During their meeting, Angus didn't ask Audrey to stay, but instead talked about his marriage and his deceased wife. Listening to Angus talk about raising his daughter Naomi alone, Audrey felt a sense of admiration. It seemed that Angus, like Kevin's mother Bethany, had made significant sacrifices for his child.
As a married woman, Audrey felt awkward about Angus sharing these personal details with her. Even if she sympathized with him, she couldn't divorce her husband to be with him. However, for some women, this would be a rare opportunity to climb the social ladder, especially becoming the wife of the Director of the City Education Bureau.
Audrey thought that if it were Vanessa, she might actually divorce her husband without hesitation and embrace Angus. Seeing Angus continue to talk about his late wife, Audrey couldn't help but say, "Secretary, thank you for dinner tonight, but it's getting late. I should head back."
"Mrs. Johnson, I apologize for getting carried away," Angus said apologetically, realizing the time and expressing his gratitude for Audrey's patience in listening to him.
Audrey felt a bit embarrassed. It wasn't easy for Angus, as the Secretary, to open up to her, a simple teacher. She had a hunch that Angus had a special fondness for her, different from Oliver's blatant possessiveness, which made her feel comfortable and not repulsed.
This was why Audrey dared to have dinner with Angus alone. She believed he wouldn't do anything against her will, given his status. Angus observed the beautiful teacher before him, noting her outstanding appearance. As the Secretary of the City Government, he had seen many beautiful women, but Audrey's intellectual charm stood out to him.
Angus admired Audrey's principles. In a society where ambition often overshadowed integrity, women like Audrey were rare. Vanessa, with her ambition, was more common.
As the Secretary, Angus easily learned about Audrey's background. She graduated from a prestigious university and had been an English teacher at the school. Her husband, Jason, worked in the south without a stable job.
Angus found it incredible that Audrey hadn't divorced her husband. From all angles, they were incompatible and shouldn't be together.
He couldn't understand why he cared so much about this female teacher. Perhaps it was because she was Kevin's cousin, or because of her integrity and melancholic eyes.
"Mrs. Johnson, are you really not interested in transferring to a top high school?" Angus couldn't help but ask. "The conditions and benefits at a top high school are much better than at the county middle school. Just say the word, and I'll take care of the rest. It will only take a week to transfer your position."
The power of influence was evident. A regular teacher would never have the opportunity to transfer from a county school to a city school, but for Angus, it was a simple matter of speaking.
"I really don't need it, Secretary," Audrey quickly declined. "I'm fine where I am in the county. I have limited abilities and may not meet the higher requirements. I prefer to stay at my current school."
"Mrs. Johnson, please don't be polite with me," Angus said helplessly. "You're Kevin's cousin, and it's only right for me to help. To be honest with you, the Municipal Organization Department has already spoken to me. After the holidays, I will officially be appointed to head the City Education Bureau. It's no trouble at all to transfer a teacher's position, so you don't need to worry."
Although Vanessa had already revealed this astonishing news to Audrey privately, hearing it from Angus still surprised her. She didn't expect Angus to become the Director of the Starfall Town Education Bureau. Even so, she was unwilling to accept his offer.
"I really appreciate your kind offer, but I understand," Audrey carefully chose her words. Now that Angus was essentially the head of the entire education system, "I've been at the school for four years and have a deep connection there. I also don't want to leave my students behind. I want to see them through their college entrance exams. I hope you can respect my decision."
"Alright then," Angus shook his head, feeling a bit frustrated. He hadn't expected Audrey to be ungrateful despite his position. If Audrey wasn't this way, he wouldn't have held her in such high regard. "By the way, what's the name of the principal at your school? How is their work performance?"
"Oh, his name is Oliver," Audrey pondered. "Mr. Jones is actually a very innovative person. He's been doing well in recent years, and the teachers speak highly of him. He's been focusing on rejuvenating the teaching staff, trying to bring in high-quality teachers. However, due to limited conditions in the county, many teachers are reluctant to come."
"This is a common situation in many county middle schools," Angus sighed. "I've already made up my mind. Once I officially take office, I will conduct a survey of all the county middle schools in the city. I will definitely visit your school. Good educational resources shouldn't be concentrated only in city schools; we must tilt towards the counties for educational fairness to begin."
