Chapter 1227
Carl was all pumped up as he lined up his shot. Nearby, Samuel leaned over to Kevin, curiosity written all over his face. "Kevin, who is this chick? Is she related to you or something?"
Albert jumped in before Kevin could answer. "You seriously don't know? That's Natalie, the owner of the Imperial Bar. She's like the hottest woman in Harmony County."
Samuel shook his head, looking a bit lost. He was a pretty straightforward guy and had never set foot in a bar. But even he had to admit, Natalie was a knockout, even more so than their homeroom teacher, Audrey.
When it was Natalie's turn, she bent over to line up her shot, showing off her curves in an S-shape that was hard to ignore. Her cleavage was like a beacon, making it tough for the guys to look away.
Carl was standing right across from her, and he couldn't help but stare at her chest pressed against the pool table. The sight of her rosy areolas peeking out made his blood boil, and he felt himself getting hard in his jeans, which was pretty uncomfortable.
Natalie sank the ball with ease and noticed Carl's dazed look. She gave a sly smile and started twirling the chalk in a way that was almost too suggestive. It was like she was teasing them all, and the guys couldn't help but feel a stir in their pants, wishing they could be that cue tip she was playing with.
The rest of the game was a breeze for Natalie. She wiped the floor with Carl, winning three-nil without breaking a sweat.
Albert and Samuel tried their luck too, but they didn't stand a chance. They both walked away looking pretty defeated. Finally, it was Kevin's turn. He started strong, sinking ball after ball until only the black one was left. Just when he was about to win, Natalie shot him a seductive look. It was enough to make Albert, Carl, and the others go weak in the knees.
Kevin was no different. He couldn't stop thinking about that time in the car when Natalie had teased him mercilessly. His hand shook as he aimed, and he missed the black ball, giving Natalie the chance to turn the game around and claim victory.
Natalie smoothly sank the final shot, pocketing the black ball in the corner. With a triumphant grin, she said, "How about that? Back in the day, they called me the pool shark princess of Harmony County. Looks like none of you guys can keep up."
Kevin couldn't help but think that with Natalie's looks and skills, if she had focused on pool from a young age, she might have gone pro.
"You're amazing, Natalie," Albert chimed in with a grin. "How about you take me under your wing and teach me some tricks?"
"Please, playing with you boys is no challenge at all." Natalie tossed the cue onto the table, dusted her hands with chalk, and sauntered over to Kevin. She leaned in and whispered, "You lost, don't forget our bet."
Kevin felt a bit embarrassed; standing in his underwear on a street corner was not something he wanted to remember. He hadn't expected Natalie to be so good at billiards. With a hint of defiance, he said, "Natalie, that's not fair. You were distracting me earlier."
"That's your problem, not mine," Natalie replied with a smile. "The pool table is like a battlefield; a loss is a loss. If you want to back out, that's on you."
"Natalie, can we change the punishment?" Kevin stammered, frowning. "I'm almost sixteen. It would be so embarrassing if someone I know saw me."
"Still worried about your reputation, huh? Fine, I'll give you a chance," Natalie said, blinking and speaking earnestly. "Consider this a lesson. Think twice before making promises you can't keep, or you'll just end up looking foolish. Got it?"
"Ms. Flores." Suddenly, a man walked in from outside, quickly approaching Natalie with enthusiasm. "What brings you here? You didn't let me know you were coming."
"Mr. Lopez, you're looking sharp," Natalie said with a smile. "Making money, I see?"
"Not really," Gregory Lopez sighed. "All the profitable businesses have been taken by Lawrence Hill. We outsiders can't even make a modest profit."
Turns out, Gregory and the owner of the French restaurant were outsiders. Despite being in business for years, they were always pushed aside by the locals. Especially Lawrence, who, thanks to his connection with Jack, could easily secure numerous government contracts, making Gregory and others envious.
"Mr. Lopez, there's money everywhere. It just depends on whether you have the stomach for it," Natalie remarked with a faint smile.
"Ms. Flores, are you hinting at something?" Gregory shivered with a suggestive smile. "How about we discuss this in my office?"
"Alright." Natalie turned and waved to Kevin, "Kevin, you guys keep playing. I've got some business to handle inside."
"Okay, Natalie." Kevin watched as Natalie and Gregory headed into the club, wondering what they were going to talk about.
Once inside the office, Gregory couldn't hide his eagerness. "Ms. Flores, do you have any money-making ideas? Count me in if you do."
"Mr. Lopez, we're friends. If there's a chance to work together, I won't leave you out." Natalie sat on the couch, crossing her legs with a smile. "Did you know Harmony County is upgrading its administrative level this year?"
"Yeah, I heard. Just yesterday, some government folks came by talking about standardizing all the signs," Gregory said casually. "But how's that going to make us money?"
"Upgrading the administrative level is the big focus for the rest of the year in Harmony County. We're talking billions of dollars. Lawrence can't grab all of it, and others won't let him," Natalie explained, crossing her arms. Her ample chest became more pronounced, and her silky stockings highlighted the curves of her long, shapely legs. The sheer material clung to her thighs, adding an enticing allure to her mature figure.
"So, Ms. Flores, you have a plan? Just tell me what to do." Gregory's eyes lingered on Natalie's voluptuous figure for a moment before he quickly looked away, knowing she was out of his league.
"I'm still working out the details. But for starters, anyone who wants in needs to be ready with at least a million dollars. Spread the word. We're looking to form a coalition. This time, we're changing our fortunes," Natalie said, her lips parting slightly as she spoke with determination, exuding the confidence of a savvy businesswoman.
While Natalie had built up a decent amount of wealth over the years, she was still small potatoes compared to Lawrence, the richest guy in Harmony County. Big projects were usually out of her reach. But now, with her connection to Armando, she felt more confident. She planned to rally the outsiders who had been sidelined by Lawrence, forming a business alliance. Their goal was to grab a significant piece of the lucrative opportunities in Harmony County. Natalie saw herself as a rising force in the local business scene, determined to make her mark without relying on any man.
Kevin and Albert played pool for a bit longer until Natalie called, saying she still had stuff to discuss with Gregory and that Kevin should head home.
Kevin had no clue what Natalie was up to, but it seemed pretty mysterious. Seeing that it was already nine PM, he started worrying that Audrey might be home soon, so he said goodbye to Albert and the others and left early.
The night air in Harmony County was getting chilly. Kevin hurried towards Audrey's house. At an intersection, he suddenly saw a few guys surrounding a girl. Squinting, he realized it was Ivan, Paul, and their gang, and the girl in the middle, tall and slender, was being held up by the boys to keep from falling.
"Ivan, I didn't expect Yara to be such a drinker. None of us can drink her under the table," Paul said with a grin.
"Drinking's no big deal; it's all about the skills in bed. Look at these breasts, so nicely developed," Felix remarked as he steadied the tipsy Yara, unable to resist reaching out to touch her chest.
"Felix, what are you doing? I haven't had my turn yet," Ivan frowned. "Take her to the hotel first."
The girl was Samuel's sister, Yara!
Hearing Ivan and the others' conversation, Kevin was shocked. He didn't know why Yara was with Ivan's gang, but it was clear Ivan intended to take advantage of her.
He rushed forward and kicked Felix in the butt, causing him to stumble forward.
"Who is it? Kevin, what are you doing?" Paul turned and yelled, but seeing Kevin, his expression changed, and he instinctively let go of Yara, who collapsed to the ground.
"Ivan, where are you taking Yara this late?" Kevin asked calmly.
"None of your business, get lost!" Ivan, having drunk quite a bit, saw Kevin interfering with his plans again and snorted, "Kevin, mind your own business and stay out of this."
"I've got this under control!" Kevin clenched his fist, stating coldly, "Now, all of you, leave, or else don't blame me for what happens next.!"
"You're asking for it!" Liam suddenly charged at Kevin. Despite his usually disheveled appearance, he was the most ruthless fighter in the group.
But he was up against Kevin. Kevin stepped back, dodging Liam's punch, then kicked him to the ground. He stepped on Liam's head, glanced at Ivan and the others, and said slowly, "Anyone else?"
Paul and Felix took a few steps back. They were all talk and no action, and they knew better than to seriously challenge Kevin.
