Chapter 755 The Trip to Clearbrook (02)
Audrey looked at Kevin and said seriously, "You didn't have to be so impulsive. If he had a gun in his car, it could have been dangerous."
"I know it's dangerous, but I don't want anyone to bully you," Kevin said, looking at Audrey with determination. "Sis, I want to protect you. No one can bully you."
Seeing Kevin's somewhat youthful yet sunny face, Audrey felt a soft spot in her heart being touched. Although Kevin didn't say any sweet words, his actions moved her more than any sweet talk could. The last time she felt this way was when she was dating Jason. Back then, Jason was penniless but won over the proud Audrey with his youthful vigor, eventually winning her heart. Now, Kevin reminded her of Jason. He wasn't much of a talker, but he was fearless and acted decisively. However, Jason now focused too much on money, neglecting his wife's feelings. He believed that having money would solve everything, but relationships couldn't be bought.
"Alright, Kevin, I understand," Audrey said, taking a deep breath to suppress her emotions. If Bethany weren't there, she would have given Kevin a heartfelt hug.
After discussing with Audrey, Bethany decided they would wait for the next bus. Seeing the doctor wasn't urgent, and they didn't need to take a taxi. Once the current crowd dispersed, it wouldn't be as crowded.
Taking the bus cost only $6 per person, totaling $18 for the three of them, much cheaper than a taxi. Seeing that Bethany was still a bit upset, Kevin approached her with a smile and said, "Mom, when I start making money, I'll buy you a car so you can go wherever you want without all this hassle."
"You need to get into college first," Bethany retorted, giving him a stern look. "Do you think making money is that easy?"
Kevin felt a bit embarrassed, but Audrey laughed and said, "Aunt, don't be so hard on Kevin. He's just showing his love for you. I believe Kevin can get into a good college, and you'll be able to enjoy a comfortable life."
"Comfortable life?" Bethany sighed. "If he gets into college, I'll have to save up for his tuition. College costs tens of thousands a year, and it's already stressing me out."
"Aunt, don't worry so much. There's still a few years to go," Audrey said with a smile. "Kevin's grades are steadily improving. If he does well, the school might even offer scholarships."
"I can't count on such good fortune," Bethany said, recalling a news story about a girl who went through high school without spending a dime and even earned tens of thousands, getting into a prestigious university with a bright future. If Kevin could achieve that, she wouldn't have to worry.
But Bethany knew her son's situation. Kevin was smart but not a top student. With effort, he might make it into the top fifty of his school, but being in the top three required both high intelligence and diligence.
Just then, a red BMW pulled up to the curb. The window rolled down, and a fair arm waved at Kevin. A seductive woman wearing sunglasses leaned out, smiling, "Kevin, what are you doing here?"
Her voice was sultry, and her mature, alluring face was lightly made up. She wore crystal earrings and a black off-shoulder dress that revealed a lot of white skin. A thin silver chain around her neck nestled between her ample breasts, exuding a seductive charm. She was a temptress who could make any man hard.
Kevin was momentarily stunned. It was Natalie, the bar owner. Seeing Bethany and Audrey frown at him, he reluctantly said, "Oh, I'm going to Clearbrook with my mom and cousin. We're waiting for the bus."
"Really?" Natalie glanced at Bethany and Audrey, quickly noticing Audrey's stunning beauty and impressive figure. She prided herself on her looks and body, considering herself one of the city's top beauties. But Audrey's presence made her feel a twinge of jealousy. Audrey's figure was too perfect, especially her prominent chest.
No wonder Kevin seemed distracted by her advances; he had such a mesmerizing cousin. Natalie felt a bit disheartened but wasn't one to give up easily. She nodded at Bethany and Audrey, then said, "What a coincidence. I'm heading to Clearbrook to see a friend. Let me give you a ride."
Kevin hadn't expected Natalie to offer a ride and hesitated, looking at his mother.
Bethany smiled and said, "Thank you, but we don't want to trouble you. We'll wait for the bus."
She didn't know who Natalie was, but her high-end attire and BMW indicated she wasn't an ordinary person. She found it odd that her high school son knew such a woman.
Audrey was also surprised. The BMW driver's stunning looks and strong presence were on par with hers, more seductive than Vanessa. Such a woman shouldn't have any connection with Kevin. Audrey instinctively moved closer to Kevin, holding his hand. She felt this woman was more dangerous than Vanessa and feared her cousin might be completely ensnared by her.
"Alright, Kevin, come visit me sometime. Bye," Natalie said, realizing she had made a mistake by approaching Kevin in such a public setting. She drove off, leaving Kevin dreading the inevitable questioning from his mother and cousin.
Just then, a bus arrived. Kevin quickly ran to it, and this time, there weren't as many people. The three of them boarded easily. Kevin found a window seat for Audrey beside him, while Bethany sat in front of them and turned to Kevin, asking, "Kevin, who was that woman? How do you know her?"
Kevin felt a headache coming on and quickly explained, "Mom, she's a bar owner. Our classmate had a birthday party at her bar, and we went there to sing. She's more familiar with Albert. She probably greeted me out of courtesy to Albert. I have nothing to do with her."
"Really?"
"Really, nothing at all," Kevin insisted, almost swearing an oath. Audrey suddenly laughed and said, "Aunt, don't worry. She's a businesswoman and drives a BMW. What use would she have for a kid like Kevin?"
Bethany finally let go of her suspicions. Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and gave Audrey a grateful look, not expecting his cousin to defend him.
As the bus filled up and started moving, Kevin initially felt excited, smelling Audrey's faint fragrance and looking at her ample bosom so close. But with his mother in the front row, he didn't dare make a move. Unable to touch, he felt even more frustrated. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself, but Audrey's scent, carried by the breeze from the window, kept tantalizing him.
Kevin didn't know how long he had dozed off when a jolt from the bus woke him. He found his mother and cousin asleep. Audrey was leaning on his shoulder, her firm breasts pressing against his arm with each bump of the bus, sending waves of pleasure through him and waking him up completely.
