Chapter 1356
The next morning, Kevin and Laura ate breakfast—milk, eggs, and toast—prepared by Daisy. Kevin also got a bonus: a black pepper sausage, grilled to a perfect golden brown, its savory aroma filling the air.
"Mom's so biased," Laura grumbled on their walk to school. "Why'd you get an extra sausage? That's not fair."
"Aw, she just wants you to keep your amazing figure," Kevin said smoothly, though privately he suspected the sausage was Daisy's way of apologizing for the awkwardness of the previous night. He'd rather have had more of her, though.
"I guess," Laura conceded, still sensitive about her weight. "You better treat me extra special from now on, or I'll be really upset. It's like Mom treats you like her own son."
"No problem," Kevin grinned. "I'll do all the chores, clean the blackboard, keep everyone in line, pass out papers… anything you want. Just say the word." He felt a pang of guilt towards Laura after sleeping with her mother. He had to make it up to her somehow.
Laura's face brightened. "Okay, then. You should come over for lunch every day. Spend more time with me."
"Is that okay?" Kevin hesitated. Daisy had been distant that morning, as if last night had never happened. He was starting to wonder if he'd imagined the whole thing.
The image of her flashed in his mind: dark hair spilling across the pillow, flushed cheeks, the gentle sway of her breasts, the curve of her hips, the soft gasps escaping her lips. It felt so real, yet so surreal.
"Of course it's okay," Laura said, oblivious to his inner turmoil. "Mom cooks for me every day anyway. It's just an extra plate. Plus, you can help with the dishes. She'll love that."
As they walked, they heard footsteps behind them. Lucy caught up, a playful pout on her face. "Well, look at you two, making up so fast. Makes me look like the bad guy. Fine, I won't interfere anymore."
Kevin and Laura exchanged awkward glances. Lucy meant well; she just had a sharp tongue. The three of them fell into easy conversation, laughing as they approached the school. Suddenly, a large black dog darted out from a side street. Laura shrieked and jumped into Kevin's arms. Lucy, equally startled, grabbed his arm, her breast pressing against him.
Kevin was momentarily enveloped in the scent of their perfume, a fleeting aristocratic fantasy playing out in his mind. The feel of Lucy's full breast against his arm sparked a wayward thought. Bigger breasts definitely had their appeal. Laura's were… less substantial.
Once the dog had crossed the street, Lucy quickly released Kevin's arm, her cheeks flushed, her heart pounding. She had to admit, Kevin was taller than Albert and definitely felt more… protective. Albert probably would have run faster than the dog.
Albert was undeniably funny and good at cheering her up. He sent her funny articles and memes, left her favorite snacks on her desk, and had even replaced her broken headphones with a new pair of Sonys after overhearing her complain about them. He always knew how to make her laugh, even when she was in a bad mood.
Kevin, though outwardly easygoing, had a certain intensity about him. He was a little too… alpha. It was intimidating. She'd seen a pretty freshman girl from the publicity department hanging all over him the other day. Clearly, she was interested.
And then there was Fiona, the student council president. She and Kevin seemed pretty close. Fiona was the County Executive's daughter. Rich, beautiful, and with breasts even bigger than Lucy's. Laura was too trusting. If it were her, she'd be worried sick. She'd tried to warn Laura to keep an eye on Kevin, but Laura just said that relationships were built on trust. It made Lucy feel like she was being paranoid.
Kevin, noticing Lucy's blush and the curve of her figure beneath her clothes, was struck by her youthful innocence. He'd enjoyed their accidental contact, but now, knowing she was Albert's girlfriend, he felt a pang of guilt. He'd have to be more careful around her. He didn't want to disrespect his friend.
As they reached the school gate, Albert bounded over, grinning. "Hey, Lucy! You look extra gorgeous today. How about a kiss?"
"Get lost, perv," Lucy said, blushing.
"Perv? I'm a lover, not a perv. Wanna try me out?" Albert laughed, making a suggestive gesture with his fingers.
"Come on," Laura said, pulling Lucy away, giggling.
Kevin and Albert exchanged a look. "Dude," Kevin said, after a moment, "that's not cool. Don't talk to girls like that. I don't even want Laura hanging out with you."
Albert scoffed. "Don't be such a prude. Have you even done it with Laura yet?"
"None of your business," Kevin retorted. "I'd even do your mom." He immediately regretted the words, realizing they might be… true.
"Yeah, right," Albert said, dismissively. "You wouldn't dare. That's, like, incest, dude."
Kevin was taken aback. Albert's logic was… something else. He really couldn't argue with that. "Okay, fine," he said, changing the subject. "Have you done it with Lucy?"
"Nah," Albert said. "Lucy's not like that. Vanessa, though… she's a total slut. Too bad I never got to do her again." He touched his crotch wistfully.
"Still having premature ejaculation problems?" Kevin teased.
"Screw you," Albert said, defensively. "I'm good now. Any girl who's been with me knows how good I am." He paused, a thoughtful look on his face. "Hey, what do you think about Fiona? Wonder what it would be like to do her."
"Get real," Kevin said, his tone suddenly cold. "She's out of your league. And mine. Stick with Lucy. She's great."
"Man, I'm so jealous of you," Albert sighed. "You can do Laura whenever you want."
"I deserve it," Kevin said, a smug grin spreading across his face. He was secretly thrilled about having slept with both Laura and her mother. He wished he could tell Albert, just to rub it in his face.
They entered the school building. A boy approached Kevin. "Secretary Smith," he said. "Fiona wants to see you. Meeting in her office."
"Hey, call me Secretary Smith from now on," Kevin said, grinning. "Sounds important."
"Sure thing, Secretary Smith," the boy said, hopping off like an excited kangaroo.
"Lame," Albert scoffed. "Secretary's nothing. I wouldn't care. Sex is way better."
"You're an idiot," Kevin muttered. "But what does Fiona want?"
"Probably something shady," Albert said. "Think about it. Her and Laura, two of the hottest girls in school. When they get together, nothing good comes out of it. You're screwed. You'll be the fall guy."
"Shut up, Albert," Kevin said, rolling his eyes. "Go jerk off or something."
I wish I could jerk off to my mom, Albert thought, completely unaware that Kevin had already done much more than that.
Kevin's meeting with Fiona turned out to be uneventful. After a lot of pointless discussion, it was finally adjourned.
All morning, Kevin couldn't shake the image of Daisy, half-naked, straddling him. He regretted his hesitation. Had her silence been rejection, or… tacit agreement?
With Alissa, Evelyn, Vanessa, Grace… their initial resistance had been an act, a part of the game. Once they'd crossed that line, they'd been all in. Daisy's earlier actions had made him unsure. He'd missed his chance. Her sudden change in demeanor had probably been disappointment. He was an idiot.
At lunchtime, he called Audrey, feeling her out about going to Daisy's for lunch. She didn't object, but told him to make himself useful, not just eat their food.
Her tone was cool, distant. They'd been fighting again. He couldn't figure her out. They'd make up, and then they'd fight again. She was so beautiful, she attracted attention everywhere she went. Quentin, even from jail, Oliver, Christopher, Angus… they all wanted her. And except for Christopher, none of them were easy to deal with.
Beautiful women were more trouble than they were worth. Unless they were like Vanessa or Natalie, women who used their looks to get what they wanted from men, or to find a powerful protector. Otherwise, it was nothing but drama. Just this past semester, Audrey had been kidnapped twice, almost assaulted. And that was just what he knew about. God only knew how many times she'd been harassed before he'd met her.
He used to think Jason was a loser for leaving Audrey, for going down south. Now he understood. If Jason stayed in Harmony County, just a regular guy, what could he do if some powerful man went after his wife? Nothing. He'd just have to watch. And if he tried to fight back, he'd probably get hurt, and Audrey would be targeted even more.
He wasn't much better off. Against someone like Oliver, he wouldn't stand a chance. Luckily, Oliver seemed to have backed off. He hadn't tried anything since that time in his office, when he'd tried to get Audrey to give him a blowjob, and Kevin had walked in. Of course, Kevin didn't really know what Oliver was thinking. He wasn't old enough to understand how a middle-aged man's mind worked when it came to a beautiful woman.
He was being too modest, though. He might just be a high school student, but he had connections. He knew Chief Inspector Mark, Daisy from the County Dance Troupe, Willow, the union rep at the Dance Troupe, Angus, the Director of Education in Starfall Town, Armando, the County Executive, Malcolm, the retired senior official… and through Natalie, he had ties to both the business world and the underworld.
He'd gotten Kimberly's husband, Grant, promoted to a senior official with just a few words. Okay, so maybe it was partly a bluff, but it still showed he had something valuable to offer. If he wasn't still in high school, with Armando and Angus's backing, he could probably make a name for himself in Harmony County. He could be as powerful as Lawrence, the richest man in the county.
Kevin hung up the phone and walked back to the upscale residential area with Laura. "Mom, I brought Kevin home for lunch!" Laura called out as they entered the house.
Daisy emerged from the kitchen, her eyes flickering to Kevin. She didn't say anything, just told them to take their shoes off and wash their hands.
"See?" Laura said, once Daisy had returned to the kitchen. "I told you she'd be happy to see you."
After lunch, Laura dragged Kevin into her room to chat. Kevin was distracted, giving her half-hearted responses. He was still thinking about last night, wondering how he should act around Daisy now.
"Okay," Laura said, after a while, stretching languidly. "I'm going to take a nap. You should too. We have class this afternoon."
