Chapter 12-13 (Revised) My Son Charlie
It was a little boy, up to her knees, dressed in expensive baby clothes, with a messy hairstyle, a cute face, and fair skin like a doll. He was so adorable.
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Charlie! Her son!
For years, Anna often missed the son she had abandoned and could only catch glimpses of news and meager information through the media or newspapers. And now he was standing in front of her so real, like a dream. She couldn't believe her eyes. Her heart stung with the pain of recognition.
Was this a blessing in disguise?
At the same time, Giorgio and Tom were equally shocked.
Ever since Charlie was born, no one had heard him utter a single word. Everyone thought he was born unable to speak, and due to his identity, they deliberately kept this information under wraps.
And now he spoke!
He wasn't mute!
Giorgio's dark eyes were filled with an unusual surge, while Tom was also filled with excitement as he rushed over. "Charlie, come with me quickly to the treatment room for an examination!"
Charlie resisted and shook his head, then grabbed Anna's hand. He looked up with his soft black eyes, filled with longing.
Anna was caught off guard by the cuteness of her own son. She crouched down, holding his face and carefully examining every contour. He looked just like his father. But in his eyes, you could tell he was her son. He shared that with his sister.
He was her son, the flesh that came out of her body. When she left, he was still as small as a cat, but now he had grown so big.
Her eyes welled up with tears, and she couldn't conceal her joy in her voice. "Charlie, you're so cute, too cute. Do you like me?"
Charlie nodded without any resistance.
Giorgio, who had been ignored, turned his sharp gaze towards Anna, ordering, "Tell him that you will stay."
Huh? What the hell?
Tom anxiously explained to Anna, "Charlie has autism since childhood. He has episodes if he is stimulated, and he's currently in the treatment stage. If we don't calm him down, it would undo the progress of the previous treatment and make it worse."
Wh-what?
Charlie has autism?
Anna couldn't believe it, but unfortunately, he was in an abnormal state right now, and she couldn't delay. "Charlie, be good, stop biting. Auntie is willing to stay."
Auntie. The word hurt her. She was his mother, for fuck's sake.
As she said these words, Charlie finally released his grip, but he still didn't completely let go.
With those words, Giorgio finally released his grip on Charlie.
Giorgio said coldly, "Wait there." He then carried Charlie back to his room.
Tom quickly followed after, carrying the medical kit.
Anna was left alone in the spot, unable to accept the fact that her son actually had autism.
Oh god, was the universe playing a cruel joke on her?
An hour later, Giorgio came downstairs.
His suit was slightly disheveled, obviously from taking care of Charlie, but it didn't affect his handsome and noble appearance.
He looked at her coolly and said, "From now on, come here every day to take care of Charlie."
Anna knew that with an autistic child, you must comply with their wishes. As a mother, she had never fulfilled her motherhood duties and couldn't back down now. And even though she knew that Katherine would kill her for this, she couldn't help herself from saying yes. How could she say no to spending time with her son?
Without hesitation, she agreed, "Okay, I will cooperate."
Giorgio thought to himself, is that it? No mention of salary or compensation?
She really has impure intentions.
Giorgio's face darkened, but Charlie needed her now, and there was no other choice.
He said, "Don't agree so easily, I have conditions."
"First, you're only allowed to stay because of Charlie's condition. You must always understand your position and explain it clearly to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings."
He was referring to last night and today's misunderstandings.
But it was clearly their fault for not giving her a chance to explain. How could they blame her?
"Second, if Charlie's condition improves, you must leave immediately. If you dare to have any ideas about the child or try to use the child, you will regret it in no time."
Anna was bewildered at these statements. Did he think she had impure intentions and wanted to take advantage of him? Of a literal child?
She only wanted to teach him a lesson and make him a better person in no time! How self-centered and arrogant he was! What a jerk!
"Third, and most importantly." Giorgio stood up, his nearly 6'3 height creating a strong presence. He towered over her, and she gulped with an unfamiliar emotion.
He took a step towards Anna, stopping just a bit away from her, and handed her a black card, "As Charlie's private assistant, I don't want you to have any inappropriate relationships with men, affecting Charlie. If you need anything, use the money on the card."
His cold voice sounded commanding.
The black card symbolized a supreme and prestigious status.
How could he think I'm having inappropriate relationships with men? Only someone like him, who has been with countless women, would say that!
But if he dares to give it, then I dare to take it and use it to take care of Penny.
She took the card and said, "Don't worry, as long as you all aren't blind, there shouldn't be any misunderstandings. I'm staying here only for Charlie, I have no other intentions towards you.
Even if I wanted something, it would be the tenderness, thoughtfulness, and kindness of a gentleman, not someone like you, a 30-year-old married man, arrogant and conceited!
Even your brother is more likable than you."
Ha! A married man!
That's insulting!
Tom in the corner felt offended. What did she mean 'even your brother'?
Giorgio was also surprised by Anna's sharp tongue and narrowed his sharp eyes like a dangerous knife.
Still, he smiled, "It's best if it is as you say, otherwise..."
He didn't finish his sentence, but the terrible consequences were self-evident.
It's either death or a fate worse than death.
Anna was not afraid at all because she really didn't have any other intentions.
"I will do it," she said firmly, turned around, stepped away, and left with a proud twist of her head.
After Anna disappeared, Tom finally had the time to ask:
"Giorgio, who is she? Where did she come from? She definitely doesn't seem like Katherine even though she looks exactly like her."
The last sentence was a confirmation. Because Katherine loves Giorgio tenderly and wouldn't have this kind of attitude.
Giorgio's handsome face was covered in deep contemplation as he began to speak, "Anna, Katherine's twin sister."
Holy shit.
"Twins, they look exactly the same! Can't tell them apart at all."
"And Giorgio, the little one actually likes her and even spoke to her. So strange!"
Giorgio was naturally surprised, but this was not so unexpected.
"Katherine is busy with work, and Charlie wants a mother, so he probably mistook her."
His voice was cold as he concluded that Anna deliberately used that face to get close to him, both last night and tonight. Otherwise, how could there be so many coincidences?
Tom rubbed his chin, furrowing his brows.
Is that so?
There doesn't seem to be any other explanation.
