Chapter 227 Pizza
The man emanated an icy chill from within.
Little Tony decisively shut his mouth, "Miss Stefanelli, you enjoy your meal. I'll set up the phone here to record and get going."
With that, he made a beeline for the exit.
Whenever Mr. Vittorio was displeased, the best strategy was to flee! Why stay and become the target of his venting?
Anna held her plate, puzzled. Why was Little Tony in such a rush? She had wanted him to join them for dinner.
Never mind, she hadn’t had pizza in a long time, and eating was the priority.
She pulled out a slice, and its delicious aroma wafted up.
"Wow! I'm starting to look forward to this," Charlie said with his mouth wide open, almost drooling.
Anna smiled gently and fed Charlie a bite of the steamy and cheesy pizza, "Since little Charlie has never had this before, the first piece is for him."
"Thank you, Anna." Charlie opened his little mouth and took a bite. Suddenly, his eyes widened, "Mmm, so tasty!"
"Mommy, I want some too!"
"Of course." Anna picked up another slice and fed it to Penny, "This one is for our cutest little princess."
"Mmm, it’s so fragrant," Penny said, her face showing the bliss of a food lover.
Anna looked at them tenderly.
Giorgio had never had pizza either; he found it greasy. But now, seeing Charlie and Penny’s reactions, he swallowed and moved closer.
And then.
Anna didn’t hesitate to eat a slice herself, not even considering feeding him!
Actually, he hadn’t expected her to feed him, but her utter lack of courtesy, not even a basic greeting and treating him like air, displeased him greatly!
If it weren’t for his thought to satisfy her craving for pizza and arranging for Little Tony to prepare it, where would she have gotten pizza tonight?
His face turned stern as he picked up some lettuce from a nearby bowl of salad and ate it.
"Eh, Daddy, why aren’t you eating the cheesy and meaty pizza?" Charlie's voice rang out.
Anna and Penny looked over just in time to see Giorgio eating ‘green’, looking completely bewildered.
There was so much meat and cheese on the pizzas, so why wasn't he eating any?
Giorgio's expression was icy as he coldly replied, "I have a bad stomach; I'm not eating meat or cheese."
Oh...
"Then you really should take care of your stomach." Anna quickly moved all the pizzas from in front of him to her side and passed him the salad bowl, "Have some vegetables then. If it's really bad, why not have some soup or black pepper steak from the Western dining table?"
Giorgio's lips twitched.
After giving her a cold look, he got up and walked to another table set up for Katherine's birthday photoshoot, leaving her with a cold back.
Anna frowned, wondering what she had said or done wrong. Why did he seem so angry?
Charlie said, "Daddy looks so pitiful, all of us eating warm and comforting pizza, and he's having soup alone."
Penny added, "Uncle, get well soon so you can have barbecue and pizza with us. You can do it, Uncle!"
Giorgio fell silent.
Were these kids deliberately trying to annoy him?
As he gazed at the meals before him, even though they were made with the finest ingredients by the best chefs, he found them all tasteless.
Anna, on the other hand, was quite pleased, continuing to enjoy the pizza with the children, humming as they ate, "I love pizza, pizza is great, it makes my mood so wonderful~~"
The cheerful song and the fragrance of the pizza made the dining room cozy, beautiful, lively, and happy.
‘Ding-dong-ding-dong-ding~~’ Suddenly, a ringtone echoed.
Anna put down her slice, dried her hands, and took out her phone to see the caller ID—
Simon.
Why was he calling her so late?
"Hello, Simon."
"Anna, I'm in the underground garage at Giorgio's villa right now; can you come out for a moment?" The voice on the phone was as smooth and pleasant as ever.
Anna was a bit surprised; he was in the underground garage? But without a moment of hesitation, she stood up, "Okay, I'll be right there."
"Charlie, Penny, you guys keep eating. Uncle Simon needs to see me; I will step out for a moment."
"Okay, Anna."
"Alright, Mommy."
Amid the obedient voices of the two children, Anna quickly ran out, not even saying goodbye to Giorgio, nor did she feel there was anything wrong with meeting Simon so late at night.
Under the play of light and shadow, Giorgio's handsome and delicate face became blurred, a cloud of gloom seemed to float and envelop it.
The underground garage.
'Beep.' As soon as Anna stepped out of the elevator, a low-profile car honked.
She walked over quickly, opened the car door, and got in. "Simon, you're in Crownhaven?"
Simon, as usual, was in a white shirt and black suit, the picture of gentle elegance, his eyes filled with deep affection.
"I've been here since I brought Penny to Crownhaven. I’ve just been hindered by some matters, so it wasn't appropriate to meet."
He was referring to the incident with Mirlinda. He had to soothe her for a long time that night, offering conditions in exchange for stabilizing her emotions and keeping the secret.
But Anna took it as her current identity as Katherine, surrounded by many reporters and paparazzi, and Giorgio, feeling guilty in her heart.
No one would be happy knowing their girlfriend spent her birthday with another man.
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect Katherine's situation to last this long; I shouldn't have gone to the wedding. Once Katherine wakes up, I'll return to Vista Heights, and then we can meet anytime."
In the future...
They could meet anytime, but their relationship could never be the same.
Simon's gaze dimmed as he looked deeply at Anna. "You don't need to apologize to me."
The one who should apologize was him.
If his father hadn't plotted against Penny, they wouldn't have come to Crownhaven, she wouldn't need to replace Katherine, and he wouldn't have gotten involved with Mirlinda.
Unfortunately, things had already happened, and there was no need to blame anyone.
He took out a gift. "Today is your birthday, so happy birthday."
Anna saw the beautifully wrapped, thoughtful gift and her smile brightened with happiness.
"Thank you, Penny and Charlie also gave me birthday gifts tonight; I'm very happy."
She was very pure, like a little girl, happy with just receiving gifts.
Simon liked her laugh, her personality, and her sweet voice.
Besides her, no one else was so pleasing to his eyes.
Yet, the cruel reality was like a sharp dividing line, separating them.
"Anna, promise me, you'll always smile like this."
Anna nodded brightly, for her, no matter how tough or tiring, nothing was too much to handle.
But why did she feel that today's Simon was a little different from usual?
"What's wrong, Simon? Is the Vista Heights project not going well? Or did your parents find out you came to see me and are unhappy, making things difficult for you?"
Simon gently shook his head, his gaze deep as he looked at her, cherishing the moment they were together.
"No, the project is going smoothly. After talking to my parents about your capabilities, they've agreed to give you a chance, for now, they won't interfere."
"Haha, Simon, you must be joking to cheer me up. What abilities do I have?
But anyway..."
