Chapter 516 Woman, You Are Terrible
The next second, a sudden phone ringtone broke the atmosphere of the night.
Giorgio paused, reluctantly letting go of her lips. He was about to reject the call but saw it was from Lola, and his eyes darkened.
"Sorry, I need to take this call."
Anna's face turned red, and she quickly said, "It's okay, go ahead."
She held her breath, staying quietly in his arms, not daring to make a sound.
Giorgio smiled and swiped to answer.
Lola's voice came through. "Mr. Vittorio, I've clarified the news online, so it won't cause a big stir. But there's something I think you should know."
Lola was always straightforward and direct. If Giorgio didn't like her, she wouldn't use any means to win him over, nor would she give others a chance to slander her.
So, after learning about the news, she investigated.
She added, "The photos and news articles were posted by Miss Garcia."
Edith?
Hearing that, Giorgio's eyes narrowed slightly.
He knew Edith had some special feelings for him, and because she had saved his life, he treated her like a sister. But that didn't mean she could do inappropriate things.
Moreover, Lola was innocent.
And knowing Lola's way of handling things, if she really wanted to pursue it, she wouldn't let it go easily.
Feeling a headache, Giorgio said, "Thanks. I'll handle this. I'll treat you to dinner tomorrow."
"Okay. I also have some ideas to discuss with you. Good night."
The call ended quickly, both of them being the type to get straight to the point.
Anna had seen the caller ID earlier, and their familiarity now made her feel a bit bitter.
The most annoying part was that he was going to treat Lola to dinner tomorrow?
"Are you going back tomorrow?" she asked.
Giorgio put away his phone, turned it off, placed it on the drawer outside, and hugged Anna again, softly saying, "I have a flight at six in the morning to go back to work. There's a lot to do lately."
Six o'clock?
But now it was already past three, which meant only two hours left!
She exclaimed, "Just for such a short time? You didn't have to fly over!"
"I originally planned to come at eight, arrive at eleven, and spend more time with you. But my grandmother arranged a matchmaking dinner, and then I had to take Lola back, which delayed things," Giorgio explained elegantly, holding her tighter and whispering in her ear, "Two and a half hours. If you want, I can still satisfy you." His voice was low, husky, and intimate, which made Anna's ears turn red, and she turned her head away. "I didn't say that!"
She was shy and embarrassed.
Giorgio lightly curled his lips, his tone both announcing and reminding. "Anna, now, both in status and name, I'm completely separated from Katherine. You can have me."
Single meant anything was possible between them and there was no need for any restraints.
Anna's cheeks turned red and hot, and she realized that he had traveled all this way for this special day.
Before, he was still Katherine's husband, and even when they met, there was always a mental barrier.
But now, he was single, just her boyfriend, pure and exclusive.
Anna lifted her chin and kissed his cheek. "Congratulations."
Anna's voice was soft, and the kiss was just a light peck. Yet, it was very satisfying.
"Sleep now. I'll watch you sleep." Giorgio didn't continue the conversation as he didn't want her to think he came with impure thoughts.
Anna nodded lightly, leaning in his arms, listening to his heartbeat, still feeling it was unreal.
He was really divorced.
Now, she could finally hold him without any reservations and enjoy everything about him.
Anna thought she would be too excited or embarrassed to sleep, but surprisingly, she fell asleep quickly.
She had a sound and deep sleep.
Giorgio didn't sleep. He held her quietly for a while, then got up to check on Penny.
In the ICU, the nurses' conversation could be heard.
"This little girl is so cute, like a Barbie doll."
"Yeah, what do you think her relationship with Mr. Dalio is? I see Mr. Dalio taking special care of her."
They were on night duty taking care of the child and liked to chat to stay awake.
"No idea. I saw Mr. Dalio taking good care of the child's mother too. The beds were so tight, and he specially arranged a room for her. They even came back together tonight. Do you think this child could be Mr. Dalio's illegitimate daughter?"
"Right, I heard Mr. Dalio got divorced. Maybe it's because of this child?"
Divorced?
Hearing that, Giorgio's eyebrows furrowed at the door.
He didn't expect Simon to be divorced too.
And Simon clearly had deep feelings for Anna. After the divorce, there might be complications.
Giorgio put on a mask and walked into the ward. Even with his face covered, his noble and handsome demeanor was still evident.
The two nurses stood up in surprise, asking, "Sir? Who are you?"
"So handsome. Do you need any help?"
Giorgio's indifferent gaze swept over them as he walked to the bedside, saying, "I'm here to see my daughter."
"This little girl is your daughter?"
"Why haven't we seen you before?"
Giorgio didn't know why, but he didn't like them thinking Simon was Penny's father, and now they were questioning him.
His voice was a bit cold as he explained, "I've been busy with work. The professor who came from abroad was transferred by me."
With that, he sat down, looking at Penny's cute face, his eyes deepening.
The two nurses were surprised.
They knew about the new professor, famous worldwide, and thought it was arranged by Simon. They didn't expect it to be this little girl's daddy.
They thought they had misunderstood.
Giorgio stayed in the ward with Penny for a long time until dawn. Then he got up and went to Anna's room.
He originally just wanted to get his phone, but Anna slightly opened her sleepy eyes, murmuring, "Are you leaving?"
Just waking up, Anna's voice was soft, and her eyes were hazy.
Giorgio thought, 'Her body must be soft too.'
Such a her made him not want to work.
He leaned down, gently smoothing her hair, whispering dotingly, "I've arranged for you to stay at the hotel next to the hospital. It's inconvenient to stay in the hospital. If I'm not busy tonight, I'll come over."
Hearing that, Anna's sleepiness dissipated a lot, and she shook her head. "No need, really. Just focus on your own business, and in a few days, I'll go back to continue filming videos with Lucia," she spoke seriously, and there was no trace of longing or reluctance on her face.
Giorgio subconsciously thought of the nurse's words and couldn't help but wonder if it was because Simon was in Vista Heights so she didn't care much about him.
Thinking of this possibility, Giorgio felt a bit uneasy.
He blurted out, "Anna, you're a terrible girlfriend."
His words left Anna confused and puzzled. Even after Giorgio left angrily, she was still bewildered.
She hadn't done anything? Why did he say that?
The key was that he was angry, which made her a bit flustered.
[Giorgio, why are you angry? You should tell me the reason.]
Giorgio: [Figure it out yourself.]
