Chapter 420 Will Love Disappear?

The next day, at 7:00 AM, Giorgio finished breakfast with the two children and sat at the dining table, speaking with a dignified tone, "Charlie, take Penny to see your Auntie, then handle getting to school yourself. I'm heading to the company."

His voice was cold, his attitude indifferent.

Charlie furrowed his little brows, scrutinizing Giorgio. "Daddy, you're not taking us to see Auntie? You like Auntie. This is a chance to meet her."

Giorgio responded coldly, "I don't like her."

Charlie shivered at the icy tone, helplessly saying, "Last time we had steak, you were so close with Auntie, and you told her you had many good things to show her. You forgot."

Penny also lifted her little face smeared with Italian sauce, looking at Giorgio. "Yeah, I heard it too. So, Uncle Giorgio, does love disappear?"

These two kids, their genes and cleverness were just the same. It would be great if they were born as siblings.

"Kids don't understand anything. Finish your meal and go to school," he said coldly, getting up to leave.

Charlie and Penny looked at each other innocently.

"They're not possible anymore, right?"

"I don't know. I want to see Mommy. I'll ask after seeing Mommy."

Penny eagerly put down her little bowl, grabbed Charlie, and ran back to Maple Valley Estates.

"Mommy, Mommy," She called out from afar.

Elena heard and quickly ran out of the yard.

"Penny, Charlie, Ms. Stefanelli and Mr. Vittorio went to work early this morning. They said they'd pick you up from school this afternoon."

"Mommy already left." Penny was disappointed.

Charlie was also disappointed, but he had to be mature and responsible in front of the girl.

He raised his little hand to hold Penny's, comforting her, "Don't worry, you were worried about your mommy, right? If she's working, it means she's fine. And we'll see her after school. Think about it, we'll see her soon. Here, have some candy."

At some point, he had developed the habit of always carrying snacks.

Penny felt comforted instantly upon seeing the candy. "Okay!"

The two kids held hands, happily heading to school.

Upstairs, Anna leaned against the bed, looking pale and weak. Seeing Elena come up, she asked, "How is it? Did Penny go to school at ease?"

"Yes, Ms. Stefanelli, don't worry. Penny didn't suspect anything and went to school with Charlie."

"That's good, thank you."

Anna didn't want to deceive the children; she was just in a terrible state and didn't want Penny and Charlie to worry about her.

She looked at the doctor. "Please continue my treatment and give me stronger medication. I want to get better soon."

"Okay, Ms. Stefanelli," the doctor agreed, saying, "Actually, your fever has gone down. You just need to eat, take your medicine, regain your strength, and rest well. You'll recover soon. Speaking of which, Mr. Vittorio is really good to you. He stayed with you all night and even went to cook."

Just then, Giuseppe brought a bowl of food, sitting gently by the bed.

"You didn't eat anything yesterday. Have some food."

Anna looked at his gentle and refined demeanor, her lips slightly pursed.

She vaguely remembered that when she felt terrible yesterday, someone was constantly wiping her sweat, feeding her water, and taking care of her attentively.

If it weren't for that incident, he really wasn't bad.

Unfortunately, that night of violation made it impossible for her to forgive him.

She said, "Thank you. Mr. Vittorio, you should go to work. I'm fine now and can rest at home. Your mother is right; the Greenwood project is important. I hope you complete your grand plans soon and turn my design into reality."

Giuseppe knew she was avoiding him, but he indeed had to go to the company.

"Then rest well and call me if you need anything."

"Okay." Anna watched him and Elena leave, then picked up the food and ate it slowly.

She had to be strong to pick up Penny in the afternoon!

"Ms. Stefanelli, are you there?"

Just after finishing eating, Sofia's voice came from downstairs.

Anna got up and walked to the window, looking down.

"I'm here. Sofia, what's up?"

"Viviana wants to see you. It's important."

‘Viviana?  What could she want?’ Anna thought.

Anna had no choice but to agree, "Alright, I'll be there in half an hour."

She went back to her room to find clothes and take a shower. Due to her lingering fever, she wore long sleeves, making her movements inconvenient.

When she arrived at the old house and was going upstairs, her vision blurred, and she missed a step.

She fell unexpectedly. However,a long, strong arm reached out from behind, catching her waist.

The world stabilized. She turned and saw that cold, chiseled face.

"Giorgio."

Giorgio merely glanced at her, then released her, coolly adjusting his suit. "Can't even walk steadily. Ms. Stefanelli, you should be more restrained at night."

She was weak, with red marks on her neck, and wearing long sleeves for cover.

Giorgio naturally assumed she and Giuseppe had made love  again last night.

Anna blushed, anxiously explaining, "No, it's because of the cold."

"No need to explain to me," Giorgio interrupted coldly, his deep, distant eyes staring at her.

"I'm not interested in your affairs."

Then, he walked straight upstairs.

That unfamiliar, cold demeanor made it seem like the man who had been gentle and close to her was not him.

Anna stood there in a daze.

Looking at his noble, indifferent figure, a strong sense of strangeness surged in her heart, like a knife cutting through, pricking her, pricking her heart.

For the first time, she felt him drifting away, leaving her world. Even though their world hadn't started, he was truly walking away, and it felt like the most important thing was leaving, unbearably oppressive and painful.

"Ms. Stefanelli?" Sofia's voice sounded.

Anna snapped back to reality and quickly went upstairs.

In the room, Viviana sat in a wheelchair, dressed neatly, looking as usual. Giorgio stood beside her, adjusting her clothes. It was just the two of them.

Anna frowned in surprise.

Viviana actually called both her and Giorgio.

A sense of nervousness and unease rose in her heart. "Viviana, you wanted to see me?"

Viviana looked up at her and said,

"Yes. Your project design is excellent, and The Vittorio family can't owe you a favor. Have you thought about the condition? Tell me now while I'm in good health, and I'll arrange it."

‘So that's what it was about,’ Anna thought. She breathed a sigh of relief.

But she had planned to make the request when she left, to be completely at ease.

Now she had no idea.

"Viviana, you still have a long life ahead. There's no rush."

"So, you haven't thought about it. I'll think of one for you."

Viviana fiddled with the bracelet on her hand, then said, "Marry Giuseppe, and you'll get one percent of the Greenwood project shares."

Even one percent of a multi-billion dollar project was worth a fortune!

‘Marry Giuseppe?’ Anna thought. She was stunned, looking at Viviana in disbelief. "Viviana, I don't want to."

"What? One percent is too little? I think it's fair for your effort and ability."

Viviana's determined tone sounded like it was final, giving no room for refusal and even felt like an order.

Anna felt strange; Viviana had no right to decide her marriage.

For her to say this in front of Giorgio, could it be—She knew about her relationship with Giorgio.
