Chapter 397 Anna, We Have a Chance

Giorgio's slightly raised voice shattered the atmosphere.

Anna was startled. She immediately felt extremely wronged and said, "I'm feeling awful, and you're still yelling at me."

Giorgio was helpless that how could he bear to yell at her?

He was already grateful that she wasn't yelling at him.

He coaxed her softly, "Listen to me, none of this is your fault. I'll take you to the hospital."

With that, he placed her in the passenger seat, buckled her seatbelt, and restarted the car.

Then, he rolled down his window a bit. The cold wind mixed with rain blew in, easing the air and giving him a moment to calm down.

He liked her, but he wasn't one  that would like to take advantage of her in her vulnerable state.

The two times they had been intimate were due to Charlie's scheming and her getting drunk at a bar. She had slapped him both times when she sobered up.

'If I make love with her on impulse now, she would probably cut ties with me completely and hate me to the core. So, I couldn't lose my mind along with her.' Giorgo thought.

For the journey that normally took twenty minutes, Giorgio managed to cut down to eleven. By the time they reached the hospital's underground parking lot, Anna in the passenger seat was crying and wailing, on the verge of breaking down.

Giorgio's heart ached for her.

But he wouldn't waver once he had made a decision.

He lifted her tear-streaked face, his voice cold and stern as he warned,

"Anna, look at me."

It was a serious command. His presence was always imposing.

Anna's tear-filled eyes regained some clarity. She looked at him and murmured, "Giorgio, what's happening to me? I feel terrible."

Her helplessness and crying tore Giorgio's heart.

He even had an impulse that he wanted  to save her by making love with her. Even if she hated him, she would still be his woman. But his pride, dignity, and morals wouldn't allow him to do such a thing.

He looked deeply into her eyes, "I feel worse than you. Stay here and wait for me. I'll go get the medicine and be back in five minutes to save you. Sit quietly, understand?"

Anna nodded, somewhat understanding.

Giorgio couldn't carry her up like this.

'In an unfamiliar city, without his people or arrangements, if they were being seen in such a state, which could easily spark a scandal. It wouldn't be good for her.' Giorgo thought.

He let go of her face, checked her seatbelt once more to make sure it wouldn't come undone, then got out and headed upstairs to buy a sedative as quickly as possible. He was back in the car in less than five minutes.

But the scene inside made him freeze in place. Anna's clothes were disheveled, her open coat revealing her round, beautiful breasts. She was moaning seductively and touching herself. Her jeans were tossed aside  and her long, white legs rested weakly on the car seat, her red-painted toes curling and relaxing at times.

'Damn it! This was testing his resistance as a man!' Giorgio thought.

Giorgio felt the blood surging through his body. He frowned, looked away, took a deep breath, and then turned back. He reached out and grabbed Anna.

Anna was covered in a fine layer of sweat, feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Smelling his familiar scent, she grabbed his suit and hugged him, saying, "Giorgio, I feel like I'm dying. Please, save me! Why won't you save me?"

Of course he wanted to save her.

Seeing her crying and pleading, he asked, "Do you like me?"

'If she answered satisfactorily, I might consider a different way to save her. So she wouldn't have to endure the effects of the drug for another ten minutes.' Giorgo thought.

Anna was momentarily stunned. She might not have consciousness, but she vaguely heard Giorgio's voice asking if she liked him.

'Did I like him? Was this a dream?' Anna thought.

"I do like you. Please save me." Since it was a dream, she needed his help, so she didn't deny it.

With that, she kissed him again.

Giorgio was helpless.

Anna's words were obviously not genuine.

But hearing her say it was still something.

As he prepared the injection, he said, "Remember, you have to answer the same way when you wake up tomorrow."

He injected the medicine into her bloodstream.

Anna winced in pain. Her long nails dug into his flesh, leaving marks.

Giorgio discarded the syringe, took out another medicine, and turned her face towards him, saying, "Anna, whatever you want to do, we can do it when you're sober."

Then, he fed her the medicine. His movements were quick and efficient. That's how he did things, leaving no room for hesitation. He was afraid he might waver.

"What did you give me?" Anna hated the taste of medicine and instinctively tried to spit it out.

Giorgio frowned slightly and quickly covered her lips with his.

He used his tongue to push the medicine down her throat, forcing her to swallow it.

Though his actions were forceful, his eyes were gentle and caring.

Anna fell into the gentleness of his gaze.

His eyes were deep and captivating.

Giorgio kissed her for a while. Maybe it was the medicine, she seemed to calm down. He released her and placed her on his lap, "Good girl, you'll feel better soon. Let's find a hotel now."

He was worried she might catch a cold. He started the car and left the hospital. Anna rested her head on his lap, feeling somewhat better.

But she wasn't completely well yet. She hugged his waist. A muffled groan escaped. The whole world seemed to soften and become tender.

Ten minutes later, the car stopped in the hotel garage.

Giorgio's deep eyes were clearer and brighter than usual.

He looked down at the now-quiet Anna and smiled softly, lifting her up.

He wanted to speak but realized she had fallen asleep!

'In that situation, could she still sleep?' he thought.

He felt both helpless and tender, cradling her in his arms. He took a tissue and gently wiped her mouth before wrapping her in his suit jacket and carrying her upstairs.

The hotel room was brightly lit. Giorgio carried her into the bathroom, placed her under the shower, and turned on the water, adjusting it to a warm temperature to bathe her. Watching her peaceful look, his lips softened into a smile. Some things were too unexpected and too beautiful. He couldn't let go of her.

Outside, the rain poured down, painting the night with coolness.

Inside, it was warm and comforting.

The next morning, the rain continued, droplets falling on the window, creating a beautiful, poetic scene.

Anna opened her eyes, staring at the white ceiling, her head throbbing, her mind blank.

'Where am I?' Anna thought.

She moved slightly, realizing nothing was on her body. Pulling back the covers, she saw she wasn't wearing any clothes!

She quickly recalled the scene of meeting a stranger last night, her expression turning pale!

She remembered having the hot water the man gave her, then losing consciousness and being...

'She was in a hotel now. Was she raped?'

This realization left Anna bewildered and she felt her world had turned dark.

Yesterday, she was misunderstood by everyone and kicked out of the resort by Viviana. She wanted to go back to Crownhaven to see Penny and Charlie, but...

'This was the outcome I got, a series of unfortunate events. Why was my life so dark? Without a single ray of light?' Anna thought.

The sound of the door unlocking echoed. Then footsteps came.

'That man dared to come back?'

Anna, trembling with anger, got up, grabbed a fruit knife from the bedside table, and stood behind the wall!

'Then, as he approach, I would stab him fiercely!' Anna thought.
