Chapter 266 What Did Her Affair Have to Do with Him?

She spoke sharply and clearly.
Her eyes, clearly demarcated black and white, were also filled with anger.
Giorgio was slightly taken aback.
She was rebutting him? And even bringing up Charlie?
Both him and Simon were married, but she didn't mind Simon?
Anger and irritation spread in his heart.
But Anna preferred not to speak further, breaking free from his grasp and quickly walking away.
Giorgio, with his aristocratic bearing, stood still as he watched her receding figure, his face growing darker and darker by the second.
Damn it!
Why did he even text her to talk for?
He was just asking for frustration!
"Ding!" A text message alert sounded on his phone.
Giorgio took it out.
It was a message from Charlie.
[Daddy, there's a problem with the contract at the entertainment company, and Anna is very worried she won't be able to meet the requirements. It would be great if you could help her.]
The little guy was obviously trying to play matchmaker, trying to persuade one side since he couldn’t convince the other.
However. Giorgio’s response was even colder than Anna's.
[What do her affairs have to do with me? Take care of yourself and get some rest.]
Charlie was speechless.
After leaving the neighborhood, Anna hailed a cab straight home.
She knew nothing good would come out of coming here; she shouldn't have.
Later, she must make it clear to Charlie not to do such foolish things again.
'Ding dong ding dong ding~~' Her phone rang again; it was still Simon.
It must be something important; otherwise, he wouldn’t call twice.
Anna organized her thoughts and swiftly slid the screen to answer, "Hello? Mr. Dalio, sorry, I was busy just now."
After their split, she changed how she addressed him.
'Mr. Dalio,' it sounded so distant.
However, unexpectedly, it wasn’t Simon that answered, "Miss, this gentleman has become drunk in our bar. He has only dialed your number on his phone. Could you please come over to pick him up and settle the bill?"
What? Simon was drunk?
Instinctively, Anna responded, "Could you please send me the detailed address by text? I'll be right there."
"Sure thing, miss."
The car quickly turned around, heading toward the bar where Simon was.
Anna got out of the car and was about to enter when she suddenly realized that Simon was now married to Mirlinda, who was rather sensitive about her presence. It wouldn't be good for her to go in.
Caution was best.
She took out her phone to call Mirlinda but found she didn’t have her contact information. With no other option, she reluctantly called Giovanni instead.
"Mr. Giovanni, where are you? Mr. Dalio is here drunk; can you come over quickly?"
"Ah? Mr. Dalio is drunk? But I'm out of town on business today."
"Then... could you call Mrs. Dalio? Have her come pick him up? I'm worried about causing conflict between them," Anna said cautiously.
Giovanni couldn't help but sigh.
If it were any other woman, even with Mr. Dalio being married, they would probably take advantage of the situation.
Only Miss Stefanelli would treat him with such distance.
Such a pity... They were destined but not fated.
"Alright, I'll contact Mrs. Dalio."
"Thank you," Anna hung up after speaking and retreated to wait behind a tree by the roadside.
About twenty minutes later, a luxury sedan parked outside the bar, and Mirlinda stepped out with an assistant. They entered the bar, and soon after, they emerged, supporting Simon into the car and drove away.
Anna came out from behind the tree, her gaze dim.
While they were dating, she hadn't been able to do anything for Simon.
After breaking up, all she could do was not bring him trouble.
Perhaps they should have never started relationship in the first place.
"Hey! You’re actually here?"
Lost in thought, an unexpected voice rang out.
Anna snapped back to reality, turned her head, and saw Edith, approaching in a glittering socialite-style dress, exuding the air of Taylor family wealth.
Edith Taylor?
What a coincidence!
Past interactions had made it clear to her that this woman was difficult to deal with. Avoidance was the best way to deal with her.
She tugged at her mask and looked down, "I have something to attend to, so I must be going."
"Hey! That's quite dismissive. Is it Miss Stefanelli who's being arrogant, or is it I, Edith Taylor, who's too lowly? Do you believe that tomorrow I could tell Giorgio how disdainful you are?"
As Edith spoke, she blocked Anna's way, stopping her.
Anna couldn't help but sneer, "Edith, who’s being unreasonable and obstructive now?"
Her rhetorical question caught Edith off guard, making her face choke up.
Without giving Edith a chance to speak, Anna continued, "Also, you keep on calling Giorgio affectionately; are you that eager to throw yourself into the arms of a married man. Your skin must be as thick as the flesh on your arms."
The flesh on her arms?!
Edith was thin all over, save for the flabbiness on her arms, which despite liposuction, wasn't very aesthetically pleasing.
Coupled with her not-so-dainty frame, she appeared slightly plump.
It was her only sore point!
"You're insulting me now?!"
"So what? You stopped me willingly; weren't you asking to be scolded?" Anna gave her a cold look, sidestepped her, and walked away.
Edith stood there stomping her foot in anger!
No, she couldn’t let it slide. This malicious woman... she must tell Giorgio!
"Giorgio, I just ran into Katherine outside the bar. I wanted to invite her to sit with me, but she gave me a dirty look and even insulted me."
"Why does she hate me so much?"
Two voice messages were sent, 'ding dong ding dong', to Giorgio's phone.
He took it out and played them.
After hearing the content, he cast a deep, ink-like glance toward the direction of the bathroom.
Inside, Katherine was taking a shower.
Edith must have encountered Anna.
What was she doing at the bar so late?
And what did it have to do with him anyway?
He turned off his phone without paying further attention to her messages.
Soon after, Katherine finished her shower and came out wearing a black silk slip dress.
Fresh from the bath, her skin looked like fine porcelain, her hair was soft, and her body emitted a faint natural scent from the bath.
She approached the bed, "Giorgio, are you tired? Shall I give you a massage?"
Her voice was delicate and soft, and her figure was graceful.
In the deep of the night, it had a special charm.
But Giorgio's handsome face remained unchanged, and his coldly detached voice rang out, "Isn't your hand injured? You should rest."
With that, he closed his eyes, silently refusing everything.
Katherine clenched her long nails.
She had the figure, the face, and looked just like Anna. Why was he so cold to her?
However...
Thanks to his grandmother, he agreed to let her sleep in the same room with him for now, which was something good.
She had to make progress with him while Charlie was away.
She whispered goodnight, turned off the main light, pulled back the covers, and lay down in bed, hoping to embrace his muscular body.
But!
There were two long pillows between them in the bed, at least thirty centimeters wide.
Was he really trying to humiliate her like that?
She was his wife, after all!
Katherine felt both anger and sadness; she had never felt so defeated.
Unable to hold back, she threw herself on top of him, resting on his chest and gazing at him with pitiful eyes, "Giorgio, do you really have to treat me this way?"
"What do I have to do for you to live a good life with me and accept me?"
