Chapter 445 Not Bad, Anna

Anna's feelings for Giorgio were clear: she missed him, liked him, and felt her heart flutter around him.

Giorgio felt the same way.

He openly shared his longing and affection. Barely able to control himself, he let her go. Looking into her eyes and at her flushed lips, he said hoarsely, "Not bad, Anna."

Anna felt a bit embarrassed. He was talking about her response just now—why say it out loud? Her face turned red, and she looked down.

"If you tease me again, I won't let you kiss me anymore."

Anna was shy but lively, like a delicate flower.

Giorgio's heart softened. He held her waist and kissed her forehead.

"I like you just as you are, there's no need to be shy," he said.

"You keep saying that!"

Anna pushed him away, annoyed. Giorgio frowned, groaning in pain.

"What happened?" Anna said, immediately lookingconcerned, checking him over. "Are you hurt? Let me see."

She started to tug at his suit.

"It's nothing." Giorgio held her hand and said calmly, "On the plane, my briefcase was on my lap too long, and my leg went numb."

So that's what it was.

Anna didn't think much of it and pulled back.

Giorgio took out a small gift box.

"This is for you. Let's see if you like it."

"A gift?"

'It's his birthday; I should be giving him a gift,' she thought.

Giorgio said softly, "I saw it and thought it would suit you, so I bought it."

He opened the box. Inside was a necklace with a fine chain and a sparkling star pendant. It was clearly something very rare and valuable.

Anna shook her head and refused. "You didn't just happen to see this in a jewelry store. You bought it on purpose. I can't accept it."

She continued, "I'm with you for you, not for material things. You gave me a credit card, and now this expensive necklace. It makes me look like I'm after your money."

Giorgio smiled, tapped her nose, and said gently, "I know you're after me, not my money. No need to spell it out."

Anna's ears turned red! She wasn't into him that way. He made it sound like she was after his looks! That wasn't what she meant at all!

"Anna," Giorgio called softly, rational and gentle.

"A man hasn't seen his woman for a few days, so of course he'd buy her a gift. It's only natural. Don't turn me down, okay?" he said, his voice magnetic and elegant.

His voice could make anyone weak in the knees.

Anna felt conflicted and embarrassed.

Finally, considering that it was his birthday, she didn't want to refuse.

"Then promise me, no more expensive gifts. This is the first and last one."

"Okay," Giorgio said softly, moving her hair aside and putting the necklace on her.

Her neck was beautiful, and the fine necklace complemented it perfectly.

Giorgio lowered his head and kissed her neck. "Anna, you are beautiful."

It was a deep compliment, filled with love.

Anna felt the warmth on her neck. Her body tensed, and her skin flushed.

She changed the subject.

"Didn't you say we were meeting at eight? Why did you come so early?"

Giorgio fixed her hair.

"I wanted to see you as soon as I could, so I came by. I have to head back to the old house for dinner with Viviana. You stay here with Ms. Hill, and I'll come back for you later."

So, he made time just to see her. Anna felt a warm flutter in her heart.

"Okay, bye," she said.

Giorgio kissed her hand before letting go. "Go on up."

"Okay." Anna blushed and ran upstairs.

As soon as Sara saw her, she teased, "You look all embarrassed. What did you and Mr. Vittorio do? Was it that sweet?"

Anna thought of the kiss and blushed.

"Nothing, we just talked a bit."

"Come on, look at you blushing. Didn't you hug and kiss? Don't spare me the details," Sara teased.

Then, she noticed the necklace on Anna's neck.

"Wow, Mr. Vittorio gave you a necklace? It's beautiful and suits you perfectly. He must have chosen it carefully. But where is he? Didn't he come up with you?"

Anna shook her head. "He had to go back to the family home for dinner with Viviana. He just took a bit of time out of his schedule to come here."

"I seriously think you're showing off! I'm so jealous! But seriously, Mr. Vittorio is so attentive. Anna, what about you? Today is his birthday. Have you thought of a gift for him?"

She hadn't thought of anything yet. Sara saw right through her.

"You're such an inattentive girlfriend," she said.

"No, I really have thought about it, but I couldn't come up with anything suitable."

Anna really couldn't think of anything. The gifts he gave were always so beautiful, exquisite, and valuable. Anything she gave would seem too simple.

Sara looked around, and seeing no one, said, "Just do what I suggested. It's new, exciting, and sweet. I guarantee Mr. Vittorio will love it. You don't have to actually make love with him. Besides, Mr. Vittorio made time to come see you, would you really let him down?"

Anna was silent. She couldn't bear to let him down.

From the beginning of their relationship, he had done so much for her. Now it was time for her to give back a little. And right now, there was no better option.

"But I don't know anything," she said.

"Don't worry! There's still time to learn. I'll send you the resources. You can do it!" Sara said.

Anna didn't know whether to be grateful or to cry for having such wonderful close friends. In the end, Anna gritted her teeth and made up her mind.

Following Sara's suggestion, she booked a room, sent the address to Giorgio, then dressed up simply and started learning.

Those three hours were embarrassing, anxious, and filled with a bit of anticipation.

Just before eight, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Giorgio was here!

Anna was so nervous she quickly closed the page, cleared all the web history, and felt very tense.

She didn't dare open the door and messaged Sara: [What do I do? I'm so nervous! Should I give up and get him a different gift?]

Sara: [Now that it has come to this point, don't back down. Trust me, close your eyes, open your mouth, and make up your mind to go for it! It's not as difficult and complicated as you think. Come on! I believe in you!]

She made it sound so easy. It gave Anna a headache.

The doorbell rang again.

Anna couldn't delay any longer. She took a deep breath, composed herself, and walked over to open the door.

The door opened. In front of her stood a well-dressed, stern-looking woman.

Anna was startled.
