Chapter 153 Dream Husband Mr. Vittorio

The atmosphere was oppressive, and Anna furrowed her brows. What did she say wrong? Why does it feel like he's angry?

Right, it must be because he was chatting with that new beautiful woman, and she interrupted him. She couldn't help but think about how he had ordered so many dresses for Katherine, acting like the perfect husband, which felt ironically hypocritical.

How many women did a man like him have in the background? But it didn’t matter how many women he had, it had nothing to do with her.

Anna collected her thoughts and distanced herself once again. Just then, the car smoothly came to a stop in its spot. The driver respectfully opened the car door, "Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio, we have arrived."

"Hmm," Anna smiled slightly and opened the car door to get out. Looking at the extravagant venue that resembled a palace in front of her, she took a deep breath. Tonight, the Stefanelli Group would need her support in acting, and in turn they wouldn't make things difficult for her.

Sure enough, Judy was waiting at the entrance and quickly approached Anna when she saw her. "Mrs. and Mr. Vittorio, you've arrived."

Anna remembered her from the last time she had gone to Giorgio's villa, to supervise her as a maid. Now standing here, Judy was probably following Carla’s orders, making sure she didn’t make any mistakes.

“Fine,” Anna responded calmly. “Let’s go.”

Judy nodded and walked alongside her. Remembering something, she whispered a reminder, “Miss, you should hold Mr. Vittorio’s arm as you enter.”

Anna hesitated for a moment. Frankly speaking, she didn't want to get any closer to Giorgio, who knows how many women he had been with. But she walked over, smiled, raised her hand, and linked her arm with his. Her movements were composed, her smile was perfect, and she began her day as an award-winning actress.

Giorgio glanced at her and stepped into the venue. In the shadows, a person in black snapped photos and followed them discreetly.

Inside the venue, there was an intoxicating blend of fragrances and the presence of elegantly dressed individuals. The colorful gowns created a lively and bustling atmosphere. People conversed and laughed, maintaining their composure and grace.

This was a party exclusive to the upper class. Anna followed along side Giorgio, watching Davide and Carla engaging in conversations with the guests. She couldn't help but feel bitter. So, this was how they lived their lives. They would never know what kind of life their daughter had in the countryside.

When she was young, her foster family were regular farmers. Their house was made of worn-out tiles, nestled deep in the mountains. Whenever it rained, the roof would leak. The walls were woven with bamboo and wood, and the cold winter wind would blow through it.

No matter how many blankets she piled on, she could never get warm. The road to school was muddy and by the time she reached the school from home, her shoes and socks were drenched. She had to wear them whole day, even if they were soaking wet, without anyone showing any concern.

She only had $5 for meals, barely enough to fill her stomach with a sandwich. After school, she had to help with farming. In addition, during the summer when it was harvest day for rice, she had to help with the harvesting and drying. Every summer, she would get a dark tan from sun exposure, only to return to her normal pale complexion in winter.

The most memorable thing she remembered was when she accidentally cut her finger with a sharp sawtooth blade while harvesting rice. A blood trail could be found from the field into the house, but there wasn't even a band-aid to be found. She could only cover it with a spiderweb from the wall, take care of it briefly and continue working.

Even though it was so hard and difficult, they never lived a good life. They only ate chicken and fish during Christmas, and rarely had meat on other days. Buying new clothes only happened once a year.

Those days were unforgettable for Anna.

Looking at the present moment, a glass of wine at the banquet costs several hundred or even thousands of dollars, while the dessert table that no one pays attention to is worth her entire year's living expenses. How luxurious and extravagant it is.

The point to all of this is that the hosts of this banquet are her biological parents. In the past, they only gave her adoptive parents a small amount of money to support her, and even that amount decreased each month. If it weren't for Wendy's calculations and savings, they would have never been able to move into the city.

These frugal parents, living such a luxurious and extravagant life.

"Giorgio, Katherine, you're here,” she greeted them, but unfortunately, they still didn't show any remorse, instead, they approached them with smiles. They appeared to be the best parents in the world, at least for Katherine.

Their stinginess and selective forgetfulness were exclusively just for her. Anna couldn’t help but find it amusing and pitiful, her face showing a mixture of emotions.

Carla shook her arm and whispered, "There are so many people watching, do you have to look at us like that?"

"Sorry, but if there weren't so many people watching, I wouldn't be standing here," Anna replied coldly.

Davide and Carla were taken aback, a hint of grimace forming at the corner of their mouths. Clearly, they didn't expect Anna’s sharp response. They looked at her with stern and uncomfortable eyes. If it weren't for the many people present, they might have slapped her across the face.

Anna felt a slight sense of relieve, seeing their pent-up frustration that they couldn’t act upon. She decided to stop there and smiled, saying, "Just kidding, Dad. Happy birthday."

She smiled beautifully, but her words lacked sincerity. Davide's mouth twitched again, unable to lose his temper. Through gritted teeth, he responded, "Um, thank you, my dutiful daughter."

Anna smiled slightly, but her smile didn't reach her eyes. This seemingly innocent girl had a hint of calculation and underlying emotions .

Giorgio briefly glanced at her before instructing his secretary present a gift. "Mr. Stefanelli, this is a birthday gift personally selected by Mr. Vittorio."

The exquisite and expensive gift box revealed a miniature model castle. In the business world, anyone would recognize it as Crownhaven's latest and largest international amusement project - Puppetland!

"Oh my god! Mr. Vittorio worked so hard to secure the project below!

“The highly anticipated paradise in the whole country!"

"It's actually a gift for Mr. Stefanelli!"

"No doubt about it, the best son-in-law in the world!"

Not only were outsiders amazed and envious, even Anna was taken aback. Initially, this investment had attracted national attention, and Penny had hoped to have the chance to visit once it was completed.

Unexpectedly, Giorgio handed over such a big project to someone else. He really knows how to support Katherine's reputation.

Moreover, by presenting this gift at this moment, he subtly defused the tension between her and Davide, showing kindness to Davide.

Katherine is his wife, Davide is his father-in-law, and naturally, he was inclined to support and treat them well. Anna couldn't help but feel a pang of bitterness in her heart.

She smiled faintly and remained silent. At that moment, a figure standing in the crowd suddenly walked out—
