Chapter 376 If You Die, I'll Accompany You in Death
Anna had just gotten up in the middle of the night to drink water when she unexpectedly received a text from Giorgio.
Giorgio: [Viviana's insomnia is severe. Find Katherine for a massage. You come and replace her. Equivalent exchange the right to use that house.]
Equivalent exchange. In other words, it was labor in exchange, not a favor from Giorgio. Anna was, of course, happy with this mutually beneficial exchange. Besides, she couldn't ignore Viviana's condition. At this moment, looking at the aged Viviana, she ignored the noble and aloof Giorgio and walked over to sit by the bed.
"Viviana, I'll give you a massage."
"Good. Katherine looks younger and younger. This outfit looks nice. That's right, you should change your style more often to keep Giorgio interested," Viviana said kindly, looking at Giorgio.
"Giorgio, do you like this style?"
Giorgio had been focused on Viviana. Hearing her words, his gaze fell on Anna. She was wearing a camisole dress, revealing her beautiful shoulders and delicate collarbones, which were very appealing to men. Her clean, makeup-free face and clear eyes, combined with the strawberry patterns on her dress, made her look lively and charming. She embodied both sensuality and purity.
"Yes," he said hoarsely, genuinely. Anna felt shy. Feeling his intense gaze, she suddenly felt that her non-revealing dress was too revealing. She wanted to wrap herself up completely, leaving only her eyes exposed.
"Viviana, is this pressure okay?" Anna changed the subject.
Viviana nodded. "It's perfect. Katherine, how's your plan to have a child with Giorgio going? Why hasn't there been any progress?"
If she could see Giorgio have a second child before she died, she would die without regrets. Anna didn't know what to say for a moment. Why did Viviana's questions always make her feel awkward?
Suddenly, a breeze blew in, making her shiver and huddle her shoulders. Giorgio got up, went to the dressing room, and soon came back with one of Viviana's scarves, draping it over her.
"Use this to keep warm for now. Don't wear this kind of nightgown next time."
It looked good but wasn't warm. Besides, if Giuseppe were also at home, would she dress like this? Anna understood the deeper meaning in his words and lowered her eyes. Did he have to control what she wore too? He really liked to meddle.
In their sweet and loving interaction and Anna's well-measured massage, Viviana fell asleep in less than half an hour.
"Katherine, your massage technique is still the best. No matter how I tried, Viviana couldn't feel sleepy," Sofia whispered.
Anna smiled faintly, tucked Viviana in, and got up.
"Light a sleep-inducing scented candle for Viviana. She should be able to sleep for eight hours."
"Okay." Sofia quickly lit the scented candle and followed them out. Then she said, "Giorgio, you and Katherine seem to be doing well. I saw how gently you took care of Katherine just now. You should stay together and not quarrel anymore. How can Anna be as filial as Katherine? Giorgio, divorcing Katherine for her isn't worth it."
Anna felt confused and angry. She wasn't filial? How could she say she wasn't filial! Giorgio divorcing Katherine for her and Sofia knew?
Giorgio glanced deeply at Anna and unexpectedly said to Sofia, "She's not Katherine."
What? She was not Katherine? Then it was Anna.
The Anna she had just called unfilial and not worth it. Sofia felt extremely embarrassed. She had just badmouthed her, and now she was right in front of her. So awkward. No wonder Katherine suddenly sobered up and seemed like a different person. No wonder Giorgio's attitude was so good.
Anna was equally surprised. How could Giorgio reveal that she was pretending to be Katherine to massage Viviana? She grabbed his arm and led him out of the main house to a secluded courtyard.
"Giorgio, have you lost your mind? How could you tell Sofia about this? What if she tells Viviana or someone else? She would guess that it was me pretending before. You've caused me a lot of trouble."
She regretted coming. The night lights were dim, and her delicate face was full of anger. The moonlight fell on her exposed shoulders, making her skin look very fair. Giorgio's eyes glowed with a charming light.
"No one can harm you. If you really die, I'll accompany you in death."
"Who wants you to accompany me in death?" Anna asked, annoyed and embarrassed. She was furious, and he still had the nerve to joke? Not wanting to deal with him, she took off the scarf and stuffed it into his hand, turning to leave.
Giorgio smiled, walked up to her, and said, "Wear it. Or are you deliberately showing your shoulders to me at night?"
Anna felt speechless. She didn't want to show him. She turned around, took the scarf back, and put it on.
"Goodbye!"
Giorgio found her adorable when she was angry. He smiled and said, "It's late. I'll walk you back."
"No need. Isn't it more dangerous to be with you?" Anna retorted and walked down the tree-lined path ahead.
Giorgio laughed and patiently followed her. The greenery was abundant; it looked scenic during the day but a bit eerie at night. Anna walked ahead, looking at the long shadow cast by the streetlights, feeling a strange sense of security. No, he was so bad; why did she feel safe? She quickened her pace.
As she approached Maple Valley Estates, she unexpectedly saw two figures in the corner. Wasn't that Giuseppe? And the woman, under the moonlight, she could vaguely see a pretty face—it was Katherine! It was them. Anna felt awkward. She quickly turned around, grabbed Giorgio's arm, and pulled him into a nearby alley.
"Wait, let's wait a bit."
Her actions were too sudden. Giorgio frowned and looked outside. "What did you see?"
"Keep your voice down! Don't look!" Anna quickly turned his face away and covered his mouth. Such a noble person, how could he handle seeing that scene?
"Nothing, just two out-of-control animals."
Giorgio raised an eyebrow. The next second, his eyes darkened, understanding everything. So that's how it was.
"So, you want me to stay here and eavesdrop with you? Or..." He deliberately paused, removing her hand and leaning close to her ear. "Do you find it interesting and want to invite me to join?"
Nobody wanted him to join. Anna felt deeply ashamed. Feeling that their current distance was too close, she raised her hand to push him away.
"I just don't want to taint my eyes. If you like watching, go ahead."
With that, she tried to leave. Giorgio pulled her back, his deep eyes fixed on her. Under the moonlight, her expression was complicated, and she carried a faint fragrance. His Adam's apple moved as he called her name.
"Anna."
