Chapter 459 Four Misunderstandings
Giorgio always had plenty of women around him. He didn't touch Katherine and genuinely wanted a divorce. The real issue was those other women. He treated Katherine just like them—kind but indifferent. To him, no woman was special.
Anna felt a pang in her heart. She was angry and wanted an explanation.
When they came out, she stepped forward.
"Mr. Vittorio, Miss Olivia."
Olivia was startled and instinctively hid next to Giorgio, then stepped back, looking pale and anxious.
"Mrs. Vittorio, you're here. I just felt unwell and asked Mr. Vittorio to take me for a check-up. There's nothing going on. Please don't misunderstand."
Her explanation was flustered and unnecessary. Giorgio raised an eyebrow at Anna's sudden appearance.
"Anna? What are you doing here?"
'Anna? Isn't she Katherine?' Olivia thought, relieved and stepping forward again.
Anna felt like a third wheel. She looked at Giorgio, her eyes filled with justified anger.
"Why I'm here isn't important. Given the situation, you owe me an explanation."
Giorgio seemed to understand and said to Olivia, "You go on ahead. We'll talk at the office tomorrow."
"Alright," Olivia said, before leaving with her head down.
Anna was furious! He was gentle with Olivia right in front of her and even dared to make plans for tomorrow!
"Giorgio," she gritted her teeth, wanting to curse him. But she knew he was a ladies' man from the start. If anyone was to blame, it was herself for falling for him.
She turned and walked away. Giorgio felt conflicted. Anna misunderstood and was angry. He chased after her, thinking how cute she looked storming off.
"Anna, I should record how jealous and angry you look right now."
He took out his phone and started recording because he found her jealousy flattering.
Anna's anger rose. He didn't explain or apologize. Instead, he just laughed and recorded a video!
She stopped, turned around, and walked over. "Giorgio, you super mega douchebag, I hate you! I never want to see you again!"
She knocked his phone to the ground. The scene was dramatic, attracting passing pedestrians.
"Isn't that Katherine and Mr. Vittorio?"
"Are they arguing?"
"Quick, start recording!"
"I already am."
A group of people gathered around. Anna's immense anger turned into embarrassment. She forgot that they were in a public place. Even with a mask on, Giorgio's striking figure was recognizable.
'What should Ido?' she thought, looking at him in embarrassment.
Giorgio raised his eyebrows. Anna always vented her anger without considering the consequences.
"Feeling nervous now? You were pretty loud about cursing at me before you realized where we were." Giorgio bent down to pick up his phone, his calm demeanor infuriating Anna even more.
It was his fault for being such a ladies' man, deceiving hearts, and causing trouble. Yet he had the nerve to mock her!
"Fine. If you're not nervous, then why should I be? When this becomes a hot topic, I'll tell everyone you got Olivia pregnant, you're morally corrupt, and I was just passing by, speaking up for Katherine, and had nothing to do with you," Anna said through gritted teeth and turned to leave.
Giorgio stood up and grabbed her, pulling her into his arms. "Nothing to do with me? And yet you're this furious?"
His low, husky voice and sweeping gaze were too intimate. And in front of all these people, he hugged her! Anna's face turned red as her heart began to race.
"Let me go! If you don't, I'll bite you!"
"Where do you want to bite me? Should I take off my clothes to cooperate?" Giorgio asked softly.
As if she could bite anywhere she wanted! As if she wanted to bite places she shouldn't! Anna had never seen such a shameless bastard. Angry, she felt disrespected, wronged, and on the verge of breaking down. Her beautiful eyes turned red and teary as she looked at him.
"What do you want? With so many women flocking to you, you shouldn't have messed with me! Or do you feel accomplished making women jealous and sad for you? Giorgio, let me go, I don't have the time or energy to play these games with you."
It was a hysterical and powerful question. Giorgio looked at her beautiful lips opening and closing, his gaze intense. After she finished her tirade, he finally spoke.
"Anna, I want to know. What kind of person do you really think am I?"
'What kind of person? You're handsome, perfect, unparalleled, captivating, affectionate, and fickle!' she thought.
Anna was about to speak, but in the next second, Giorgio leaned close to her ear and said, "The child is Giuseppe's. I was just confirming if she was indeed pregnant, so you could break up with him."
'Giuseppe's!' she thought. Anna was stunned. She had misunderstood him again. She wanted to explain. Giorgio let go of her, glanced at the onlookers, and said to her, "Get in the car."
After they left, a team of operatives stepped forward, buying off all the recorded content and paying hush money. They weren't just Giorgio's people, but also a special protection team sent from above. Giorgio, as Crownhaven's richest man, had to maintain not only his personal reputation but also the image of Crownhaven. It was extraordinary.
In the car, despite the luxurious space, the atmosphere was inexplicably oppressive. Anna sat in the passenger seat, clasping her hands together, not daring to look at the man beside her. She was sure that right now, he must be feeling upset.
Who could have expected that he would take Giuseppe's woman for a pregnancy check!
Anna tried to explain herself. "A mature man taking a sexy female secretary to an OB-GYN for a check-up, speaking gently and showing concern for her, can easily be misunderstood. Really, if you ask those around you, nine out of ten would misunderstand the situation. It's not just me."
She truly felt that she had done no wrong. Yet, her words sounded guilty. Next, Giorgio found the reason for her guilt.
He drove the car, speaking coolly. "The first time, you misunderstood me for not saving you. The second time, you suspected I was just playing with you, being irresponsible, and causing a miscarriage. The third time, you suspected that I was having an affair with Katherine. The same misunderstanding shouldn't have to happen more than three times, yet somehow, you've done it again. Thisis already the fourth time."
