Chapter 173 Leaving His Villa
At the airport.
Anna reluctantly bid farewell to Simon and Penny.
At the gate, she reminded them repeatedly, "Penny, make sure to call Mommy if there's any problem with Sara. If you behave well, I'll grant you a wish when I return."
Penny widened her innocent and bright eyes and asked, "Really? Any wish can come true?"
She wished for Mommy to be with Giorgio so that she could be with Charlie too.
Anna didn't know what Penny's wish was, but she nodded and said, "Well, when has Mommy ever lied to you?"
"Yeah! I'll behave well for my wish!" Penny happily stood behind Simon, looking very charming.
Anna felt reluctant, but she knew too well that it would be dangerous for Penny to stay in Crownhaven.
If Giorgio discovered that Penny was his real daughter, the consequences would be unimaginable.
She looked at Simon with a serious expression and said, "I've texted Sara, and she said she would take care of picking up and dropping off Penny. You don't need to bother. If you have time, just go and check on Penny."
Simon responded with a soft "Hmm" and lovingly rubbed Anna's head. "Actually, you can trust me with this, but since it makes you feel more at ease, I'll do as you say. Call me anytime if there's anything. The flight is only two hours away. Remember, you are my girlfriend, not someone that can be bullied."
His words brought a sense of security.
Anna nodded and said, "Don't worry, I'm not a child."
"Well, keep in touch. When Katherine wakes up, let me know immediately, and I'll bring Penny to pick you up."
Normally, he wouldn't be like this, and he had never experienced such a sad farewell. But at this moment, he couldn't bear to take a step away from this obedient and sweet girl. He just wanted to stay by her side.
Perhaps only she could evoke such emotions in him.
He reached out and pulled her closer, gently dropping a quick kiss on her forehead. "Goodbye."
Anna was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and squeezed out, "Goodbye."
Simon rubbed her head, turned around, and carried Penny into the airport.
Penny stayed in Simon's embrace, furrowing her eyebrows.
It's strange. In movies, the female protagonist only kisses one male lead, right? Then why did Mommy kiss Mr. Dalio?
No, she still wanted Mommy to be with Giorgio!
The time spent together in the villa had already convinced Penny of this.
In that house, with Giorgio, Mommy, and Charlie, she felt like it was a real home.
...
Anna stood in front of an imposing, glass-glad skyscraper, watching the plane take off, soaring into the sky, gradually disappearing into the clouds. Only then did she look away and stepped outside.
A sense of relief washed over her, as if a heavy burden had been lifted. From now on, all she needed to do was occasionally update her status and stay peacefully at the Stefanelli family, taking care of Katherine's blood transfusion.
She paused, her thoughts were in turmoil, but eventually sighed and continued walking.
An idea crossed her mind. She took out her phone and sent a message to Giorgio.
[Mr. Vittorio, should I go buy the same style of bedsheets, or should I have Little Tony customize them and deliver them to the Stefanelli family?]
However, as soon as the message was sent, an exclamation mark appeared on the screen:
Sorry, the recipient has enabled verification. You are not their friend yet. Click to add and send normally.
Frustration surged within her. Did he block her?
Anna took a moment to regain her composure, then messaged Little Tony directly:
[Little Tony, can you send the same set of bedsheets to the Stefanelli family for Mr. Vittorio? Also, please help deliver some personal items.]
Receiving the message, Little Tony who was driving, looked confused.
"Mr. Vittorio, this is strange. Why is Miss Stefanelli asking me to deliver the bedsheets and her belongings to the Stefanelli family? What did you discuss today?"
As he spoke, the already cold and oppressive atmosphere in the car grew even colder!
He had forgotten that ever since Mr. Vittorio had left the Stefanelli family, the entire atmosphere had become colder, a kind of coldness that he had never witnessed in the over ten years he had been with Mr. Vittorio.
And the Stefanelli family, wasn't that where Anna was? The person who could provoke such anger from Mr. Vittorio was none other than Miss Stefanelli. This was bad, really bad. He had indeed stirred up a hornet's nest!
Just when Little Tony was desperate and wished he could slap himself, the frigid man sitting in the back uttered in a cold tone, "Tell her to come and get it herself, or her belongings will be thrown out."
Little Tony trembled replying, "Yes, Mr. Vittorio!"
The message quickly arrived on Anna's phone.
[Miss Stefanelli, I'm sorry, but I don't have time. Mr. Vittorio said you have to come and get it yourself, or it will be thrown out.]
Bastard! Even in the midst of their breaking up, he wouldn’t make things easy for her!
Anna pursed her lips, gritted her teeth, and finally thought that this might be their last meeting. She took a deep breath, hailed a taxi, and made her way to the villa.
Sometime later, during lunchtime., the dining table in the villa was filled with a variety of delicious dishes. Charlie sat at his seat but had no appetite, staring blankly at his rice.
Little Tony tried to coax Charlie, "Charlie, please eat a little. You haven't even had breakfast today."
Charlie remained unresponsive.
*Ding dong* The doorbell rang.
Little Tony, feeling helpless, reluctantly put down his chopsticks and went to answer the door.
"Miss. Stefanelli, you're back."
Anna answered with a faint smile, "Yes, I’ve come to pack my things. From now on, I'll be living with the Stefanelli family, not here."
"What? Not in the villa?"
Ah, now it made sense! No wonder Mr. Vittorio was so cold!
Little Tony asked with a hint of anticipation, "What about Penny?” As long as Penny is around, there's still a chance for sparks to fly between them!
The response was, "Penny and Simon went back to Vista Heights."
Little Tony looked at her, so Simon took Miss Stefanelli away and took Penny with him. How could Mr. Vittorio not be angry?
Not knowing what to say, Little Tony forced a smile.
As Anna stepped into the villa and turned by the entrance, she was surprised to see Charlie standing in the living room, looking disappointed with a gloomy gaze fixed on her.
Clearly, he had overheard!
She felt helpless, resigned, and pained, but she understood that parting ways was inevitable. She walked over and crouched down.
"Charlie, didn't you promise Auntie before that you would always try to be happy no matter what? And Auntie is just going to your grandma's house. You can come visit Auntie."
Charlie still wore a solemn expression and responded, "But you're not with Daddy anymore. I want you to be with Daddy."
Anna didn't know why Charlie insisted on this. She rubbed his head and said, "Shh, you know that during this time I was just helping with an act. Your Daddy loves your Mommy. If people heard otherwise, they would think I was influencing you, having ulterior motives, and they would dislike me. Do you want me to be disliked?"
Charlie quickly shook his head, "No, I don't want that."
"Then be good, eat and sleep well. I promise to keep in touch with you every day, and I'll tell you a secret."
"A secret? What secret?"
