Chapter 81 A Repenting Child

"Anna, I'm sorry," Charlie whispered softly.

Anna gathered her thoughts and rubbed his head. "It's not your fault, let's go. I'll take you back."

Charlie nodded, but there was still lingering guilt on his little face.

Back at the villa, seeing Giorgio on the cold sofa, Charlie wasn't afraid at all. He walked over and knelt in front of the white wall.

"I'm sorry, Daddy, I was wrong."

His remorseful look tugged at the heartstrings.

Giorgio furrowed his sharp eyebrows, his icy face showing no emotion. "Wrong? Do you think just saying sorry can solve everything? Did you consider the consequences of your actions yesterday?."

"Charlie," Giorgio began, his voice firm, "we need to talk about what happened."

Charlie shifted nervously, feeling guilty for having crossed a line in his father's personal life. "I'm sorry, Dad. I didn't mean to interfere. I was just trying to help."

Giorgio's expression softened, but he maintained his seriousness. "I understand that you were trying to help, but meddling in my personal life was not the right way to do it. It's important to respect people's boundaries and privacy."

Charlie nodded, feeling remorseful for his actions. "I know, and I'm really sorry. I didn't think it would cause such a problem."

Giorgio leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "When it comes to personal matters, it's best to let the adults handle things. I appreciate your intentions, but I need you to understand that it's not your place to interfere."

Charlie swallowed hard, understanding the consequences of his actions. "I get it, Dad, and I won't do it again. I promise."

Giorgio nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Good. I hope you've learned from this experience. You're a smart and caring young man, but you need to be responsible and considerate in how you use that intelligence and kindness."

Charlie looked down at the floor, feeling the weight of his father's disappointment. "I know, and I'll do better."

Giorgio sighed, his tone softening slightly. "I'm grounding you for the next two months. No video games, no outings with friends, and you're to focus on your schoolwork and responsibilities at home. And you will do all the chores in the house."

Charlie's eyes widened in surprise, realizing the seriousness of his punishment. "A whole two months? Dad, that's really harsh!"

Giorgio met his son's gaze, his eyes filled with concern and love. "I want you to understand the gravity of your actions, Charlie. Grounding you is not to be harsh, but to help you reflect on what you did and how to make better choices in the future."

Charlie nodded, accepting his punishment, though he still felt disappointed in himself. "Okay, Dad. I'll do my best to learn from this."

"It's my fault. I didn't explain to Penny why I came to the villa to take care of Charlie. That's why Penny and Charlie misunderstood and thought I liked you. He wanted to help me, that's why he made the mistake. He has a good heart, and he will correct it. Don't be angry."

"Charlie, tell your father that you know you did wrong."

Charlie's face was filled with pain, but he didn't cry out. He looked at Anna.

"Anna, you don't need to worry about me. It's my fault that you and Mr. Dalio argued. I should be punished."

Anna remained silent. He could endure it, but it broke her heart.

If it weren't for his feelings for her, Charlie would never make such a mistake.

With teary eyes, she looked at Giorgio. "You said this morning that you would agree to any condition. Will you still keep your word?"

Giorgio didn't understand why she suddenly brought up this topic but smirked. "Of course, I won't go back on my word."

"Then my first condition is to forgive Charlie ! Second, let Charlie and me return to Crownhaven. Pretend that nothing happened last night."

Her voice was firm and resolute.

Little Tony was surprised. This woman was actually defending Charlie at this critical moment? And she didn't ask for money or fame at all?

He suddenly realized that he and Mr. Vittorio had misunderstood her too many times...

No, the bigger issue now was more important!

He quickly picked up Charlie. "Mr. Vittorio, Miss Stefanelli has spoken. Let's do as she said. I'll take Charlie to the hospital to get his wounds treated."

With that, he ran off, holding the child, afraid of Mr. Vittorio's anger.

Anna breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and looked at Giorgio. "I'm sorry."

"Hmm?" Giorgio was puzzled by her inexplicable apology. His eyebrows furrowed.

If anyone should be apologizing, it should be him.

Anna lowered her head and said, "Charlie made a mistake, and it's indeed my responsibility. I misled him. Also... in the morning, I didn't know that you were the victim, and I hit you."

Thinking about it now, she was scared. He was high above, and just a move of his finger...
The important figure who can shake the entire business community, she actually rudely scolded him, and even hit him...

Giorgio laughed unexpectedly, "You were bold when you started, but your voice became small like a mosquito when you apologized."

Anna tightened her grip, "Hey, I am also a victim. I apologized to you, but you insist on mocking me? You're taking advantage and acting cute, shameless."

Her following words were clearly sarcastic, muttered, and very cute.

"Isn't your flight at two o'clock? Go pack up. I'll leave first."
After finishing her words, Anna turned around and wanted to flee.

It was too awkward to stay with him after such an incident, and the intimate act of applying medicine was even more impossible.

Giorgio's expression turned serious. He reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his embrace. His exceptionally deep and handsome eyes were fixed on her:

"Anna, have you ever thought of marrying me? Becoming Mrs. Vittorio?"
