Chapter 417 The Last Meeting
‘At this moment, why is he calling? Moreover, he had made it so clear before that I thought he wouldn't contact me again.’ Anna thought.
Anna hesitated, unsure whether to pick up.
Elena felt guilty. Mr. Giorgio Vittorio making that call had to be related to the fake pregnancy.
She said, "Ms. Stefanelli, Mr. Giuseppe Vittorio 's emotions have just stabilized. Can you not contact Mr. Giorgio Vittorio for a while? Just decline the call."
Anna looked at her and then glanced at Giuseppe on the bed.
Right now, the most important thing was indeed Giuseppe's condition. Only when Giuseppe recovered could she leave safely.
"Okay, I'll just text him back."
She declined the call and quickly edited a text message: [Sorry, I'm not available to take your call right now. I think we don't need to contact each other anymore.]
However, A message quickly came back.
Giorgio: [The Moretti Club, top floor. Come over. I promise this will be the last time. Otherwise, I'll come over right now.]
His words was direct and sharp, heavily laced with threats.
Anna's face turned pale. ‘The last time.’
It felt different from what he usually said.
No matter what, if it was really the last time, it was worth going and she dared not let him come over and be seen by Giuseppe; everything would be ruined.
"Elena, Mr.Giorgio Vittorio said it's the last time. I'll go over. I promise to be back within an hour. If Mr. Giuseppe Vittorio wakes up, just say I went out to buy food and will cook for him when I return."
Elena was helpless.
After all, she could stop Anna, but not Mr. Giorgio Vittorio .
"Alright, be quick."
"Okay."
Anna quickly headed over.
Top floor was spacious and wide, with no lights on, only the lights from most of Crownhaven outside shining in, illuminating everything in the room.
Giorgio sat on the sofa, leaning back, one long leg crossed over the other, looking noble and relaxed, extremely elegant. But, with a cigarette between his fingers and smoke rising, it was clear he was not in a good mood. It was very cold and dangerous.
Anna didn't know what was going on. She stood at the door and made a sound, "Mr. Giorgio Vittorio, I'm here."
However, Giorgio sat there coolly, still not speaking.
Smoke rose in the air, enveloping him, making him look deep in thought. No one knew what he was thinking at that moment.
Anna was uneasy in this atmosphere. "Mr. Giorgio Vittorio , if you have nothing to say, then I'll leave."
"Come here." Giorgio finally spoke in a naturally commanding and magnetic voice. It was an irresistible order.
Anna was stunned.
‘Come over? What did he want me to do?’ she thought.
Just as she was feeling anxious, Giorgio coldly said, "What, you have the courage to fake a pregnancy but not to stand in front of me?"
His words were like a bomb exploding over her head.
Anna's pupils dilated in shock, her face pale. "You, how do you know?"
Giorgio sneered, extinguishing the cigarette and walking towards her. "You're so smart, you should know there's no wall in the world that doesn't let the wind through. Lies will always be exposed."
With that, he was already beside her, suddenly changing his tone. "Anna, while Elena was faking the pregnancy, she also bribed a doctor to say you have a bleeding disorder and can't have children. That's why I had you abort the child."
‘What? A bleeding disorder? So, he had me abort the child for her safety!’ she thought.
Anna was in complete disbelief.
She was shocked, panicked, and looked at him in astonishment. "Why didn't you tell me? I thought you didn't want to take responsibility."
"You thought I didn't want to take responsibility?" Giorgio interrupted her, speaking deeply and steadily, "You have a bleeding disorder, you can't have children for life. I just didn't want you to lose this child and receive such cruel news at the same time."
In other words, he was considering both her physical and emotional well-being.
It turned out that in the corners she couldn't see, even when she misunderstood him, he bore it all alone, fully embodying the responsibility, care, and love of a mature man to the extreme.
After understanding the truth, Anna felt very sad, suddenly feeling like a little girl, very willful.
"I'm sorry."
She had always been bold and willing to admit her mistakes.
Giorgio looked at her and asked, "Just a simple sorry? Nothing else to say?"
'Anything else?' she thought. Anna was flustered.
In fact, she hadn't expected this truth, and beyond the surprise, she was deeply moved.
A man who could take responsibility and bear everything alone, there was nothing more to say.
She wasn't prepared at all; saying anything now would be too impulsive.
"Anna, our relationship is completely over." Giorgio's voice suddenly rang out.
Anna's body trembled, as if a heavy hammer had struck her heart, both painful and shocking. "What, what did you say?"
She thought he called her over to clear up the truth and start anew. But he said it was completely over.
Although she and he had never really begun, at this moment, she felt a deep panic and discomfort.
She instinctively explained, "I didn't know things were like this. It wasn't intentional to misunderstand you."
Giorgio's emotions were cold and calm as he said, "When you decided to test me, it proved you didn't trust me. It only shows that after all this time, you don't understand me at all. Leave."
He didn't want to be a test subject, nor would he allow her to have no basic trust in him.
He threw down his words and turned to walk inside, cold and unfeeling. "Close the door behind you."
Anna felt very uncomfortable.
She hadn't expected her actions to hurt him so much, nor did she expect him to be so decisive and resolute when being ruthless.
She wanted to say something, but upon thinking carefully, she realized she was the one who did wrong and indeed didn't deserve his affection. Her apology was meaningless.
She held back the heartache and discomfort, turned, and left.
With a 'Click,' the door closed, like a barrier separating two worlds, completely cutting off any connection.
At the door, Tony saw Anna come out. Having heard everything, his face didn't look good. "Ms. Stefanelli, let's go. I'll take you down."
The elevator here required a special person's fingerprint.
Anna didn't refuse, following Tony, walking out in a daze, feeling very low and gloomy.
Previously, when he said in the message that it was the last time, she didn't quite believe it, but it turned out to be true.
"Ms. Stefanelli, although it may not be appropriate to say this now, I still have to say it."
Tony spoke, "Mr. Giorgio Vittorio has always been very good to you. In all the years I've been with him , I've never seen him treat any woman so well. Not to mention, this time when Mr. Giorgio Vittorio thought you were really pregnant and had a miscarriage., he personally cooked soup for you. The high-and-mighty Mr. Giorgio Vittorio has never cooked, not even made tea for the elderly. Moreover, although Mr. Giorgio Vittorio has Charlie, to be honest, Charlie's birth wasn't out of love. So he valued this 'child' very much and has been in a bad mood, feeling down these past few days.”
He continued, “But, Ms. Stefanelli, how could you fake a pregnancy to test Mr. Giorgio Vittorio ? It's really heartbreaking."
Anna was stunned.
The soup she reluctantly drank was actually made by Giorgio himself.
He valued this 'child' so much.
