Chapter 107 Jealousy?
"Fabio, wait!" Carla wiped away her tears and called out.
Fabio paused, "Wait for what? She wouldn't even donate a kidney back then... And now, being so heartless and cruel towards Katherine, it's difficult to let go of this grudge without flaying her skin and throwing it into the sea!"
"Fabio, I understand your feelings and share the same thoughts, but..."
"You've seen the wedding and the news. For now, we need her to handle those matters for Katherine. Don't worry, once Katherine wakes up, she won't let her get away with it."
Fabio's gaze fell on the projection, which showed Anna and Giorgio shining brightly. His eyes became sharper and more sinister.
"When will Katherine wake up?"
Carla, tearfully, brought up the topic, "The doctor said they're not sure. It could be a few days, or it could be a month. Your father and I are worried that complications may arise, so we brought her back home and told everyone that Anna fainted." "Your father has also contacted renowned doctors and professors both domestically and internationally. We will do everything we can to treat Katherine."
As for the exact time of her awakening, it was uncertain.
"My poor Katherine has truly had a tough life. The moment that unfortunate Anna appeared, such a disastrous event occurred. If she weren't here, this unlucky situation would never have happened."
Carla grew angrier as she spoke.
Fabio clenched his fist, making a cracking sound.
He walked over to Katherine's side and held her hand. "Katherine, you must wake up. As for everything that happens during your rest, I will protect it for you. You won't be able to take away anything from her, Anna. I swear it."
The wedding reception continued until 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
After Anna finished toasting, she hadn't drunk much, but it added up to four or five glasses.
She felt dizzy and her body was getting weak. "I can't go on. I'll rest in the dressing room for a while."
"I'll accompany you," Giorgio said, supporting her waist with a low, husky voice.
To anyone else, they looked like the happiest couple.
But it was all fake and ridiculous.
Anna sneered and shook her head, politely declining, "No need, you can see if there's anything you need to attend to. I want to be alone for a while."
After saying that, she pushed his hand away and left.
Giorgio stared at her unsteady, frail figure and couldn't put his mind at ease. He instructed Little Tony who was behind him and proceeded to follow her.
In the garden.
A slender and gentle figure stood under a flowering tree, dialing a phone number on her mobile phone.
It was Simon.
Anna's eyes lit up, and she took a step towards him, intending to ask for his help once again to get Penny into the hospital.
However, a stunning figure rushed over before her, pressed her lips against Simon's face with a "smack" sound, and snatched his phone away.
"Simon, still caring about your little woman?"
Simon's warm expression turned cold. "Who gave you permission to kiss me? And, Anna is my legitimate girlfriend."
Mirlinda smiled, "Girlfriend? I feel like I resemble your girlfriend more~ When you keep changing faces like this, you really seem like a scumbag."
Simon's lips twitched, "You're more easygoing, but there is a difference between someone pleasant to be around and someone annoying."
"There's no difference with either. If you provoke me again, I don't mind hitting a woman," Mirlinda said angrily. She put his phone directly into her clothes and smiled brightly, saying, "So what if you don't like me anymore? Your father said you must marry me, otherwise he won't treat that little girl."
"You think that even though you worked so hard for her, she would accept you knowing that you had sex with me again?" Mirlinda taunted.
"If you want your phone, come and get it yourself," she said, swaying away gracefully.
Simon stood in place, his face darkening with a gloomy anger he had never felt before. He didn't expect to be fooled by this woman for the second time. After a moment of annoyance, he rubbed his forehead and turned around to go back to the hospital. But as he turned, he saw Anna standing in front of a tall building.
The sunlight was strong, and the building cast a shadow, obscuring her entire person, making her face and aura appear depressed.
He was taken aback. "Anna? What are you doing here?" He asked, approaching her quickly.
Anna snapped back to reality, unable to believe what she heard and didn't know how to face the situation. She chose to hide away.
"Mr. Dalio, you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm not Anna," she said.
Not Anna? Her eyes were as clear and pure as Anna's. How could she not be?
"Anna, you heard what happened earlier, and you're avoiding me?" Simon's heart was in a panic like never before. "Explanations can be a cover-up, and I won't make any excuses for myself. But Anna, I still want to tell you that it was an act of loss of control, forced by circumstances. I've never wavered in my feelings for you. Will you believe me?"
He was elegant, composed, and sincere.
His crystal-clear, gentle eyes showed not a hint of lies.
Anna was taken aback, her eyes glistening with tears. She trusted him. How could someone as good as him lie?
But because of her, he was deceived by Mirlinda.
It was she who harmed him.
Feeling even more guilty, she struggled to force a smile. "Mr. Dalio, I really am not Anna. Thank you for your deep affection for Anna. I won't tell her about this."
She took a step to leave.
"Anna," Simon took hold of her wrist, refusing to believe that she wasn't Anna. His instincts couldn't be wrong.
Anna, feeling heartbroken, also felt a slight surprise.
Four years ago, Giorgio mistook her for someone else, and four years later, Giorgio made the same mistake again.
And Simon in front of her, why was he so certain that she was Anna?
The feeling of being recognized, it was nice.
In her confusion, a low, cold voice sounded, "Mrs. Vittorio, Simon, what are you discussing?"
Anna turned her gaze and saw Giorgio walking towards them from the shadows, handsome, elegant, and domineering. He approached her, reached out, and pulled her waist, causing her to break free from Simon's grip and fall into his embrace.
Anna didn't know how he appeared, but she quickly cooperated and said, "It's nothing. Mr. Dalio mistook me for Anna and we chatted for a few minutes."
Simon noticed Giorgio's hand resting on Anna's waist and then carefully observed the dress she was wearing. Could he have mistaken the person?
Before Simon could inquire further, Giorgio didn't give him a chance and quickly explained, "I'm sorry, she had a bit too much to drink. I'll take her to our room for some rest, and we can talk later when she feels better."
With that, he led her away, holding her close. Anna didn't resist, offering a slight smile to Simon before walking away.
Once they entered the room, her small face instantly became dim and lifeless, her pupils losing their radiance. In her heart, Simon was gentle, friendly, and perfect, deserving the best woman. Mirlinda could never compare, no matter what she tried.
As Giorgio watched the woman sit on the bed, her distant expression showing so much loss as if she had misplaced something crucial, he couldn't help but feel unhappy. Walking over, he lifted her face and asked, "What's wrong, darling? Feeling jealous because your love interest is sleeping with someone else?"
