Chapter 75 Mommy's Sister
"Aunt? Why have I never heard my mommy mention you?" Penny furrowed her little brows.
Her dumbfounded expression was exactly like that of Anna, the fool. Were they from the same mold?
Then who was her father?
"Could it be Giorgio?" Katherine was startled by this thought. "You should go back and find your mom, I have something to do." She quickly walked to a corner and dialed Wendy's phone number.
"I'll give you 100,000 dollars, tell me Penny's true identity."
Twenty minutes later, Katherine received a call. In a frustrated tone, she said, "What? Anna gave birth? Brought back from Crownhaven?"
Damn it! She was indeed hiding this from her!
Katherine was so angry that she wanted to burst into the private room and confront Anna, but she couldn't. The more critical the situation, the more she needed to stay calm.
After thinking it through, Katherine took out her phone and transferred 200,000 dollars directly to Wendy.
"I'm giving you an additional 100,000 dollars to buy your eternal silence about this secret. Penny is your son's child."
"What are you doing here?"
As soon as the message was sent, a low questioning voice suddenly sounded behind her.
Katherine turned around and saw the dignified Giorgio. Her hand trembled with guilt, and she quickly shut off her phone.
"Oh, it's nothing. Just discussing work matters with the crew. I bought gifts for Anna and Mr. Dalio. They should be waiting. Let's go in together."
Giorgio had never been curious about her affairs. He simply glanced at her and then averted his gaze without further inquiries.
Inside the private room, the dishes were already served. Anna and Simon were sitting at the table, taking care of the two children. They saw Katherine and Giorgio walking in.
Penny had never met Katherine before. If she recognized her, the consequences would be unimaginable!
If Katherine didn't know the truth, she wouldn't have noticed Anna's guilt. She stared at Anna briefly without leaving any trace and quickly resumed her usual demeanor.
"Wow, this must be the little princess that Anna takes care of. So adorable. Mr. Dalio, I truly appreciate you accepting Anna and this little princess. This is the cake I ordered. I wish you sweet love and a successful marriage."
Anna let out a sigh of relief and reached out to receive the cake. "Thank you, sister." She then instructed Penny to lower her head and eat her food, speaking as little as possible.
"Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio."
At this moment, a beautifully decorated dining cart was suddenly pushed in. The smiling manager said politely, "We just saw the news about your wedding at the end of the month. This is a specially prepared gift in advance to congratulate your upcoming marriage. We hope you accept it."
Their attitude was overly friendly, taking everyone present by surprise.
A wedding at the end of the month?
"Giorgio, why have I never heard you mention it?"
Charlie's face stiffened, showing resistance and unhappiness in his eyes.
Anna didn't know why, but when she suddenly heard this news, her hand trembled slightly and an indescribable emotion swept through her heart. They were really getting married at last.
Under everyone's gaze, Giorgio glanced lightly at Anna with deep eyes, then turned to the restaurant manager and asked, "News?"
"Yes, Mr. Vittorio. All the television channels have been broadcasting this good news tonight. Everyone across the country knows about it," the manager happily replied, opening the large TV in the private room. Coincidentally, the host was reporting:
"Latest update, the Vittorio Group officially announced at exactly 7 o'clock tonight that Mr. Vittorio will marry Katherine at the end of the month. The Vittorio family has already begun preparations for the wedding. Giorgio's mother kindly informed everyone that Miss Katherine is gentle and kind, and their entire family likes her very much. This wedding is long overdue, so they will express their apologies to Miss Katherine with the grandest ceremony. Four years ago, Miss Katherine already gave birth to Charlie Vittorio, the son of Mr. Vittorio. Stay tuned for more updates."
Every word was clear and floated in the air, exuding a strong sense of joy. The matter of marriage was evidently set in stone.
Giorgio's face darkened almost imperceptibly. He looked deeply at Anna, his eyes as profound as the deep blue sea. How would she react to his upcoming marriage?
Giorgio thought that she would be somewhat surprised, sad, or have some other reaction. After all, they had their private moments, intimate encounters, and he couldn't believe she had no feelings.
However, in that moment when their eyes met, Anna was happily eating her pastry, completely emotionless. She seemed like a creature without feelings.
He knew Penny's judgment was wrong, but deep down, what was he hoping for?
He felt displeased in his heart, glared coldly at the hotel manager, asked him to leave, and said, "It's an idea from the older generation at home. I just found out myself."
If others heard these words, they would think he was forced into it.
Katherine quickly smiled and explained, "Well, Giorgio didn't intentionally keep it from you. Grandma and Mrs. Vittorio probably thought about Grandma's poor health, so they urged us to have the wedding. Besides, Grandma and Mrs. Vittorio treat me so well, like their own daughter and granddaughter. They completely see me as their own, so they didn't ask for our opinion."
So that's how it was.
Simon smiled gently, "Parents are all similar. Every parent urges their children to get married. But Giorgio, your grandmother is old, so it's about time for her to get married. Moreover, Katherine gave birth to Charlie for you and postponed the wedding due to your grandfather's passing. She didn't complain at all. She's such a good wife, and you can't let her down."
The whole world believed that Giorgio should marry Katherine; otherwise, he would be considered irresponsible.
But only Giorgio...
But only Giorgio knows that he can no longer have any feelings for Katherine except that he was set up that night four years ago. Marrying her is just an obligation and a responsibility.
I, but my mom likes your dad. I also want your dad to be my future dad, but your dad wants to marry aunt, and I'm not happy. And you, you don't seem happy either?"
Charlie sighed, "Well, I don't like her either, and my dad doesn't like her at all. He was looking at the news just now, and he had a completely unfamiliar expression on his face. He looked so upset."
"...I didn't see it, but it's so sad that he has to marry someone he doesn't like," Penny suddenly felt sympathy for Giorgio.
