Chapter 451 Were You with a Man Last Night?

His number was still blocked on her phone, so they couldn't talk.

Anna, standing by the road, realized this too.

She tried to text Giorgio the address, but it wouldn't go through, and she couldn't call him either.

It seemed like the firewall that Charlie had set up was working a little too well.

'What do I do now?' she thought.

Anna ended up borrowing a phone from a passerby to call Giorgio.

"I'm at the corner near the project office," she said.

"Got it," he replied.

Giorgio drove over quickly.

When Anna got in the car, he frowned.

"Did you change your number to avoid me last night?"

Anna replied, "No, I just blocked you. It's some program Charlie set up, and I can't undo it."

"How's he doing?" He hadn't talked to Charlie since the incident and was worried. "Some things are hard to explain to a kid, and he really misunderstands me."

Anna thought of Charlie's complaints and smiled.

"Yeah, it was a big misunderstanding on his part," she said.

She then told Giorgio everything that happened last night.

Giorgio's frown deepened. He thought Charlie would get over it in a few days, but he was still badmouthing him.

"When you have time, explain it to him," he said.

Anna couldn't help but tease. "So, the great Mr. Vittorio can't handle his own son?"

He glanced at her, his voice a mix of jealousy and affection. "You're something else, winning over both me and my son."

Anna felt awkward and guilty. Charlie's fondness for her came from a natural bond and affection for his mother.

She couldn't tell Giorgio about that now, maybe not ever. He'd be furious if he found out.

There was way she could bring it up now.

Anna smiled awkwardly. "Guess I'm pretty charming. You should be glad you found such a beautiful and kind girlfriend."

She exaggeratedly praised herself without guilt. Giorgio couldn't deny her charm.

It wasn't just him, even Simon and Giuseppe were somewhat taken with her; she was indeed very charming.

He glanced at her, seeing she wasn't angry, and casually asked, "Were you with Giuseppe last night?"

He had gone to the hospital to find her, then waited at the office but didn't see her. This morning, she appeared with Giuseppe, so he assumed they were together.

Anna didn't catch the jealousy in his voice and shook her head.

"No, I was alone in the park last night. Then Charlie found me, and I took him back to the hospital to stay with Sara. I came over this morning."

So that's how it was. The jealousy in Giorgio's eyes faded, replaced by a soft and gentle look.

He didn't take her back to Emerald Manor but to the private villa where they had stayed before.

"I didn't shower last night. I'll go take a shower first, and then you can help me with the medicine."

"Oh, okay," Anna agreed casually.

Standing in the living room, looking at the familiar surroundings, she thought of the time she pretended to be Katherine and stayed in this villa. Her feelings were mixed.

Back then, she was forced into the villa; now, she came willingly.

In the future, she hoped to live with him legitimately.

A voice called from upstairs. "Anna, bring me a towel."

Anna quickly snapped out of it and ran upstairs.

"Coming."

She found his towel, walked to the bathroom door, and pushed it open a crack to hand it in.

Giorgio's hand reached out and took it.

He soon came out wrapped in a towel.

His body was impressive—perfect proportions, eight-pack abs, and well-defined muscles. He was eye-catching and exuded masculine charm.

Anna blushed.

Luckily, he still had wounds, so it wasn't too awkward. She quickly walked to the small sofa.

"Did a doctor prescribe your medicine? Your wounds are pretty bad. Maybe you should go to the hospital or have Dr. Shaw come over."

"No need, I deserve these wounds. I shouldn't have made you mad."

Giorgio elegantly sat down on the sofa.

Anna thought, 'Is he really talking about himself like that?'

But her heart still felt warm.

She took the alcohol and gauze, walked over, and carefully treated his wounds.

The wounds were deep, with the flesh turned out in an alarming way.

It took great courage and determination to inflict such wounds on oneself.

Anna's throat felt tight, and her eyes began to sting.

"Don't do this again. If you don't stop the bleeding in time, you could die."

Giorgio looked at her as she focused on treating his wounds, feeling both heartache and sadness. His gaze grew softer.

"It was the best option at the time. Even if you weren't angry afterward, I couldn't just accept it."

He had said before that he didn't take such matters lightly.

Anna felt heavy-hearted and surprised.

He had clearly been with Katherine and his secretary, so he didn't seem conservative. Why did he take it so seriously?

Was it because he cared too much about her or was it the obsession with divorcing Katherine?

In any case, Anna wasn't angry this time. She carefully bandaged all his wounds and applied the medicine, then said, "Don't let the wounds get wet for now. Change the dressing tomorrow morning. Also, take it easy with work these days, don't over-exertyourself."

Her gentle instructions were imbued with her unique tenderness.

Giorgio pulled her into his arms, gazing at her flushed face.

"So you're worried about me now. Put the necklace back on, okay?"

It was the first gift he had given her, and he didn't want her to disregard it.

Besides, her neck and shoulders were beautiful, and he liked seeing her wear things he had bought for her.

Anna had only returned it out of anger at the time. Now that the misunderstanding was cleared up, she had no reason to refuse.

She nodded lightly, letting him gently put the necklace back on her neck and then kiss her collarbone.

Her whole body tensed, slightly resisting.

But ultimately, she wasn't averse to it; in fact, she felt a bit wistful.

Giorgio held her tighter, his lips moving to her neck, asking with curiosity, "You said you had prepared a birthday gift for me."

Whenever anyone brought that up, her face would blush.

"No, I was planning to, but didn't get it ready. I'll make up for it another day."

Giorgio's eyes dimmed. Back when it was Giuseppe's birthday, not only did she remember it, but she also planned ahead to give him that design drawing. She was very thoughtful about it.

For his birthday, she hadn't prepared anything.

Thinking that he had made her angry for a reason, he comforted himself with this and asked, "What was it supposed to be? Even if I'm not getting it yet, at least tell me."

Anna didn't dare to say!

"Really, it's nothing. Stop asking. You haven't had dinner yet; I'll go see what I can make for you."

She got up and ran.

Giorgio noticed how she blushed and lookd guilty. He sensed that it wasn't that simple, and felt a sense of curiosity and intrigue.

Just then, Anna's phone on the table rang with a Facebook notification.
