Chapter 476 You Want to Leave Me Again

"What's up?" Anna glanced up.

Giorgio rubbed his temples, looking all stressed. "Katherine's got a condition: as long as I don't divorce her, I don't have to ditch you, and she can make the donation happen."

So, Katherine's cool with keeping her spot, no matter what's up with Giorgio? She's basically okay with Giorgio having a mistress. Anna didn't see that coming. Katherine actually gave Giorgio that kind of deal?

But then, she figured Katherine wouldn't make it that easy.

Anna's been a threat from the get-go, and Katherine would never be cool with her sticking around Giorgio. It's just a stall on the divorce, buying more time. Still, it's better than the last crap she offered.

"Mr. Vittorio, why didn't you spill this sooner?"

Giorgio saw the glint in her eyes and knew she was giving in, feeling all sorts of mixed up. Even though she had a solid reason to save Elodie, agreeing to have another woman around, with the title of his wife, still bugged him.

"Your answer's the same as mine."

That's why he kept it to himself.

Anna's heart tightened. "No, I just thought it was the only way, and I also believe you wouldn't have anything with her."

"What if Katherine's extra condition was to sleep with her?" Giorgio cut her off, staring at her with that deep, unreadable look. "Tell me, would you still go for it?"

She was stumped.

She had no clue. Too many problems were piling up, forcing her to make choices.

Her silence just pissed Giorgio off more.

Just at the moment, a text buzzed on the phone next to them. He glanced at it, saw it was from Katherine, and picked it up. Then his eyes went dark.

The text was clear as day.

[Giorgio, I forgot to mention, I also gave Anna a choice. If she leaves you, I'd agree too. So, do you think she'd pick you or her grandma?]

Giorgio's veins throbbed, he looked back at Anna, and suddenly smirked. "No need to answer, I know what you'd say. If you can even think about leaving, what else can't you handle?"

She hadn't told him, which meant she was torn and conflicted.

Leaving was inevitable.

His cold, dark, and self-mocking tone showed just how pissed Giorgio was. Anna was stunned again, staring at the phone in his hand, her brows furrowed tight!

She didn't expect Katherine to spill the beans, knowing she'd have to choose, making Giorgio mad and screwing up their relationship.

She felt kinda helpless and looked at Giorgio, frustrated. "Giorgio, I..."

"Last night, did you get all proactive 'cause you wanted to leave?" Giorgio suddenly cut her off, asking grumpily.

He was too sharp, figuring it out right then. Anna's body shook, her thoughts exposed, feeling guilty and flustered. Then, she gathered the courage to explain, "I had no choice. I didn't want to, but my grandma means everything to me. She's the only one who's been good to me since I was a kid."

When she was young, her grandma would use the money from selling veggies to buy her new clothes first. Whenever Elodie went to a party, she'd always bring food back home for Anna. Even when Elodie was sick, the money her kids gave her would go to Anna. Her grandma would tell her to buy stuff she liked. Even when she fell down the mountain and passed out, her grandma clutched her cloth bag and wallet, not letting go until she came to hold it.

That's why she couldn't just let her go. No way.

Anna's tears fell like a string of pearls. Seeing her like this, his heart softened. No matter how mad he was, he didn't want to argue.

He pulled her close, one hand holding her slender body, the other grabbing a tissue to wipe her tears.

"I'm not mad at you for wanting to save Elodie. I get it, she's important to you. I've been trying to figure this out these past few days. Don't cry, okay?"

His good temper, tolerance, and warmth surrounded Anna at this moment. Anna knew he was doing his best to fix this mess. It was because of these things that she was so painful.

"Don't be so good to me, Giorgio, be a bit cruel. Drive me away. I beg you!"

At that moment, her lips were suddenly kissed by his cold lips. Giorgio wouldn't let her say those words.

Her lips were sweet, her tears bitter, mixed together, exuding endless sorrow. He kissed it all away, rubbing her hair, his voice extremely deep. "Anna, from the day you stepped out, I wouldn't let you go easily. We'll use the second plan, the doctors at Imperial Glory Hospital are very professional. I specially invited the dean, and the success rate can be fifty-five percent. Trust me, okay?"

To Anna, he was extremely gentle and deeply charming, arranging everything for her.

Anna didn't want to consider the second plan as she was really scared it might fail. But his voice and breath seemed to have a special magic, his eyes like a huge vortex pulling her in.

She nodded involuntarily.

Giorgio's lips curved slightly, he lowered his head and kissed her again. "Good, let's eat."

During the meal, Giorgio served her soup, peeled shrimp, and even fed her.

Even though he clearly hated abandonment and was so angry before, he was now gentlemanly and indulgent.

Anna truly felt Joe's words now, the man in front of her fitting the description Joe once mentioned. But, the better he was, the more guilty she felt thinking about the child in her belly.

She said, "Giorgio, I've slept with someone else, I'm not worthy of you."

"Hmm?" Giorgio raised an eyebrow at her sudden words, puzzled.

Anna mustered the courage and explained, "I've slept with Giuseppe."

The words were heavy as a thousand pounds. Giorgio paused. No man wouldn't mind the woman he liked sleeping with someone else, and thinking about that video made him agitated.

Yet, Giorgio said calmly, "I already knew. Why say it again on purpose, for fun?"

Anna choked. She forgot, Giorgio always thought that video was of her and Giuseppe! Plus, during the time she misunderstood he didn't save her, she deliberately used Giuseppe to provoke him, even living together with Giuseppe to piss him off.

His understanding was completely different from what she said!

And at this moment, seeing the deep, dark look in his eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say the more cruel truth. In the end, Anna decided to muster the courage to try the second method.

The next morning, she went to Imperial Glory Hospital for a detailed understanding of her grandmother's treatment. And, she planned to use her blood during the surgery, hoping it would have some effect and increase the success rate.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Giuseppe sat in the doctor's office where Anna had been yesterday, asking, "Have the results come out? Can the issue with the child be confirmed?"

The doctor nodded, handed over a document, and apologized, "Sorry, yesterday's diagnosis was wrong. The lady is not pregnant."

"Not pregnant?" Giuseppe's eyes narrowed, very surprised and angry. He scolded, "What's going on? How can such a big hospital have a misdiagnosis?"
