Chapter 350 No Forgiveness Habit
Despite the black mask covering his face, the kingly aura emanating from the man was still undeniable. Yet, even more mysterious and dangerous was the vibe he exuded.
Nevertheless, Anna paid him no heed. Her attention was fixed on a taxi stopping conveniently ahead. Swiftly, she ran toward it, opened the door, and got in.
In an instant, the car drove off. Inside the car, the man's eyes darkened, sending shivers down one's spine.
Anna took the taxi to the Vittorio, got out of the car, put on her mask, and headed upstairs.
Although she had applied some medicine to her lips last night and they had improved significantly albeit not easily noticeable unless examined closely, Anna recognized that men were sensitive creatures, and she deemed it wise to be cautious.
"Anna, are you here to see Giuseppe?" the friendly voice at the front desk inquired.
Anna nodded and replied, "Yes, I'm bringing him breakfast."
"You two have such a great relationship. I envy you both," the receptionist remarked. "But he went to inspect the construction site at six in the morning, not in the office."
"Do you know when he'll be back?" Anna asked.
"I'm not sure about that," the receptionist admitted. "Anna, why don't you give him a call?"
"Alright, thank you," Anna said appreciatively as she grabbed the lunchbox and headed out while dialing Giuseppe's number.
"I heard you're at the construction site? I brought breakfast for you, do you want me to bring it over?" Anna asked over the phone.
Giuseppe was slightly surprised. He was well aware of what had happened at home last night, including Giorgio's unexpected feelings toward Anna.
Her resistance to Giorgio took him by surprise. No woman had ever resisted Giorgio's charm.
And yet this morning, she still had the heart to make breakfast for him and bring it over?
"Didn't you say you didn't need to bother about me during your recovery period?" Giuseppe's voice came through the phone.
Anna reassured him, "I didn't spend much time on it, and I didn't hurt the wound. It was just something casual. Where are you? Is the construction site far from here? Do you need me to bring some clothes for you to stay there temporarily and avoid running back and forth?"
Anna wanted to avoid Giorgio; it would be best if she didn't go home for a few days, and Penny could help by having Sara pick her up.
"I'll be back in the evening. Wait at the company entrance, and I'll have someone pick you up," Giuseppe's words shattered her hopes.
She agreed with a sigh and hung up the phone.
In less than five minutes, a company car pulled out of the parking garage.
"Anna, Giuseppe asked me to take you over," said the driver.
"Alright, thank you." Anna opened the car door and got in.
As the car departed, it passed by Giorgio's car. He glanced at her through the car window, his aura darkening.
Did she deliberately wear a mask to avoid Giuseppe's discovery?
"Giorgio, we're here," Tony's respectful voice sounded.
Giorgio averted his gaze, got out of the car, and walked into the company.
Unnoticed by the front desk, discussions were rampant.
"Giuseppe and Anna are so happy. She's injured but still brings him breakfast. He arranged for a driver to take her to the construction site. They're like a couple in the honeymoon phase."
"Yeah, it's like they haven't seen each other in ages, even though they haven't been apart for long in reality."
"I think Giorgio is too strict. He should give Giuseppe less work and let them have more time to date."
A deliberate cough interrupted the conversation. They turned around to see Tony looking embarrassed and trembling, and beside him stood the imposing figure of Giorgio!
Realization dawned on them. Not only had they been gossiping about Giorgio behind his back, but he also overheard every word!
"Sorry, Giorgio, we were wrong!"
"We shouldn't be chatting during work hours, let alone gossiping about you. Please forgive us, we're sorry, we're sorry!"
The two front desk employees were frightened, bowing and apologizing profusely, even smacking themselves in remorse.
Their repentance was quite sincere.
Giorgio's cold and noble face remained unchanged as he uttered ruthlessly, "I don't have the habit of forgiving people. Go to the finance department to collect your salaries. From now on, no company under the Vittorio group will employ you."
With these chilling words, he strode into the elevator, his departing figure exuding an undeniable aura.
The two front desk employees were stunned! Anyone who could work at the Vittorio, even just as a front desk staff, was a graduate of a prestigious university with strong capabilities, making every effort to secure a position there.
They had put in a lot of effort for this job, and now they were about to be kicked out of the Vittorio, stripped of all rights!
"Tony, we know we were wrong. We don't want to leave. Please help us!"
"Tony, we didn't do anything serious. Please..."
As they spoke, they knelt down.
Tony felt helpless. While they hadn't committed a grave mistake, discussing sensitive topics that concerned Giorgio had made him unhappy. What made matters worse was that Anna, the person Giorgio cared about, was involved.
Now, in addition to the fear of being kicked out, Tony had to be extra cautious in his actions today. "My situation is precarious too. I can't help you. I'm sorry."
Anna arrived at the construction site, a suburban building project.
Many workers wearing hard hats were busy at work, sweating even without the sun, their clothes soaked.
She suddenly understood what Giorgio had said that day. The Vittorio had to support many people, and as a supervisor, he had a responsibility to create good projects and solve problems.
Regardless of whether he did it intentionally, she shouldn't blame or criticize him.
"Anna, Giuseppe asked me to take you to the project office to wait for him," the secretary's voice rang out.
Anna came to her senses, looking at the busy secretary, not wanting to burden her. "I won't go in. I have other things to do today. Could you please give him the breakfast for me?"
The secretary paused, contemplating Anna's request before responding, "But he said he had something to tell you."
"Oh? Alright then." Anna followed her inside.
The project office at the construction site was simple. It was constructed with colored steel and contained desks, filing cabinets, and a water dispenser, giving it a minimalist aesthetic.
Anna sat on a simple chair, and before long, Giuseppe entered.
Usually gentle and refined, he now had slight wrinkles on his suit, a bit of dust on his face, and his hair casually falling on his forehead, exuding a more mature masculine charm.
"What's wrong? Haven't seen me like this before?" Giuseppe sat across from her, opened the breakfast box, picked up the utensils, and started eating with the grace of a bull in a china shop.
Indeed, Anna had never seen him in this light. "Yes, you look quite stylish like this."
"So, how do you think I compare to Giorgio?" a casual question floated out, leaving Anna momentarily stunned.
She had witnessed Giorgio's elegance while dining, his tenderness toward children, his serious and meticulous work attitude, and his mature responsibility when personally saving someone.
In every scenario, he was outstanding, perfect, charismatic, and naturally charming.
But she had also seen his adeptness in handling women, his domineering and shameless behavior when bullying her.
She replied with a hint of annoyance, "Why compare yourself to him? You're much better than him. I don't want to hear about him."
Giuseppe chuckled. Whether her response was genuine or intentionally said out of anger remained a mystery, leaving one to ponder.
Seeing her visibly upset, he teasingly asked, "Why are you wearing a mask?"
At the mention of this, Anna felt nervous.
Last night, Giorgio had kissed her three times in a row quite forcefully, leaving her lips uncomfortable...
And at that moment, she was just angry.
Now, looking back, it was more than just...
