Chapter 450 Reconciliation, Sweet Again

"Impossible," she said firmly.

Giorgio felt a pang in his heart, seeing her tear-streaked face.

"What do you mean I don't care? If I didn't, I wouldn't have used the medication and ended up covered in wounds."

He never showed her his injuries, but now he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing the cuts on his chest.

Anna thought he was being inappropriate, but then she saw the blood and went pale.

"What happened? How did you get hurt like this?"

Giorgio replied, "The injuries on my legs are worse. Want to see?"

Worse? Anna remembered sitting on his lap last night and him groaning in pain.

She didn't want to care, but seeing his injuries hurt her deeply.

"No, tell me how you got these wounds. What medication did Katherine use?"

She was anxious, heartbroken, and started crying.

Giorgio felt a bit better, knowing that she cared. He explained, "Katherine proposed a condition I didn't agree to. Later, she said if I could resist her advances while on the medication, she'd divorce me. The medication had hallucinogenic properties. She pretended to be you, and I almost lost control several times."

So, he hurt himself to stay awake!

His liaison with Katherine was because of the medication and her pretending to be Anna!

Anna was stunned. She hadn't expected this.

Her anger and determination were suddenly suppressed.

Giorgio continued, "I don't know what she told you or what you saw. I almost mistook her for you a few times. But I didn't. The deepest wound on my leg proves it. As for not replying to you that night, I wanted to resolve it before coming home, considering she's Charlie's mother. I didn't plan to hide this, I just didn't have time to tell you before you found out from her."

He spoke calmly, showing no other emotion.

He wasn't lying.

Anna knew he had no reason to lie.

Thinking back, in the video Katherine gave, he was fully clothed!

If he had been with Katherine, she would have shown direct evidence, not something out of context.

So, even in that situation, he chose to hurt himself rather than be with Katherine.

Anna's heart shattered. Her anger, rage, and despair disappeared, replaced by deep heartache.

"I'm sorry. I was preparing a birthday gift for you when Katherine showed me those photos and videos. After I called you and you didn't deny it, I got confused and thought it was true. I'm sorry."

She apologized sincerely, albeit impulsively.

Giorgio smiled, lifting her face with his hand.

"When you got angry, you talked about breaking up and then disappeared. It was hard to accept, but if you hadn't gotten angry, I'd be the one crying."

His voice was helpless and resigned. Anna felt guilty for torturing him all night.

"I'm really sorry. Why didn't you explain earlier?" she asked.

Giorgio's frowned for a moment before he said, "Anna, I value relationships more than you think. I did kiss her, and that's a fact. So I couldn't deny it."

Anna's looked indignant.

"How can you say that? It's different—a misunderstanding versus a matter of principle."

"So?" Giorgio's eyes flashed with nervousness and hope. "You're not angry anymore?"

His gentle tone melted her anger.

For the sake of divorcing Katherine, he went through hell, and she misunderstood him.

He didn't change his medication last night, stayed out all night, and smoked, which must have worsened his wounds.

Thinking of this, Anna felt guilty. She reached out to straighten his shirt and suit. "I'll go with you to the hospital for the medication."

"You haven't answered the question," Giorgio pressed.

Anna pouted, "If I were still angry, I wouldn't care about you. I've already apologized. Do I have to spell it out?"

Anna really had a temper. Giorgio's face finally showed a smile, like ice melting in spring.

He held her chin gently, pressed her against the wall, and kissed her softly.

A love that was lost and then found again was always the sweetest, especially with her.

Giorgio kissed her again, savoring her breath.

Anna didn't resist, staying as meekas a kitten in his arms. That is, until she felt his growing desire. Her face turned red, and she pushed him away.

"Alright, let's get the medication."

Giorgio looked at her delicate face, wishing he could make her his completely.

But it wasn't the right time or place.

He sighed. "You go outside and wait for me."

"Okay, I'll help you button up before I go."

Anna's small hands fastened his buttons. Her nimble fingers were delicate and fair.

Giorgio gulped. "I'd rather you help me take them off."

Anna's face turned red, and she quickly let go of his clothes. "Button them yourself then!"

Then she ran off, flustered.

Giorgio smiled.

Helping her boyfriend undress was natural. It would happen someday, so why was she so embarrassed about it?

Outside, Anna's face was flushed. She was panting.. She fanned herself, trying to calm down.

She felt like an addict. When she was sad, she was heartbroken, never wanting to contact him again, but once the misunderstanding was resolved, her desire for him was uncontrollable.

It was like opium; once entangled, it was impossible to stop herself from taking more.

"Anna?"

Giuseppe walked over, looking around.

"What are you doing here? Did you need something from in there?"

'In there' were not only the ingredients Anna needed, but also Giorgio!

She felt guilty, shaking her head. "No, I wanted to make shrimp for lunch today. I'll go to the supermarket and be back in time to prepare lunch."

Afraid Giuseppe would stop her, she immediately ran off.

Giuseppe found it strange. Her enthusiasm for cooking seemed odd, coming from her.

But their time together was limited. Maybe she wanted to repay him?

This thought made Giuseppe slightly displeased, and he turned to go to the construction site.

Not long after he left, Giorgio's figure emerged from the kitchen.

Not seeing Anna, he quickly realized a serious problem.
