Chapter 408 Testing Mr. Vittorio

Chapter 408: Testing Mr. Vittorio

Anna could feel threatened by Giuseppe, without him even moving. She shrank back.

"Why should I trust you? I'm not that dumb."

Giuseppe chuckled, lifting her chin. "Because you have no choice."

He let go of her chin. "I'll have someone pick up Penny. Until you figure things out, stay in this room."

With a bang, he slammed the door and left.

Anna chased after him. She wouldn't let him touch Penny! No way!

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't open the door.

She screamed, "Open the door! Giuseppe, you bastard!"

Giuseppe ignored her and walked downstairs. Adjusting his hair and suit in the mirror, he turned to Elena. "Stay home and watch her. Don't let her leave."He then walked out gracefully.

Under the big tree outside, Giorgio stood cold and noble, exuding an icy chill despite the late spring warmth.

Giuseppe's eyes darkened as he approached. "Uncle Giorgio, waiting all night for someone's woman?"

Mocking, ridiculing, and a touch of hidden hatred. He hated Giorgio. Giorgio was always better, always competing with him.

Even though Giorgio had married Katherine, he wouldn't let Anna go.

"Sorry, I kept Anna up all night. She won't be going out today," Giuseppe added angrily.

Giorgio's hand clenched in his pocket. He appeared calm but couldn't hide his anger.

"Sending photos and showing off? Seems you're not confident. Maybe you threatened her," Giorgio said coldly.

Giuseppe's mouth twitched. He hadn't expected Giorgio to be so rational, turning the tables on him.

Trying to stay calm, Giuseppe said, "Uncle Giorgio, Anna likes me. She'll cooperate if I need her to. No force needed. Does Viviana know what you're doing?"

Giorgio's lips curled coldly. "Don't threaten me. Take care of yourself. If you can't secure the Greenwood Project, I'll send you abroad."

Giuseppe had forgotten Giorgio's superior position. If Giorgio had given the order, no one could have resisted.

His face turned sour. "Uncle Giorgio, if you want to wait, go ahead. I was just worried you'd be heartbroken. After all..."

He leaned in, whispering, "A woman used by me doesn't deserve your status."

Giorgio's hand clenched like a vise, a charged tension crackling around him, the unspoken threat hanging thick in the air.

Satisfied with Giorgio's reaction, Giuseppe turned to leave. Giorgio stood there, and after Giuseppe disappeared, he punched the tree trunk hard. Leaves rustled and fell, an indescribable chill filling the air.

In the room, Elena brought in some food.

"I'm not eating. Tell Giuseppe to give me back my phone! I want to go out!" Anna said angrily, sitting in the corner like a scared hedgehog.

Elena glanced at the bruised Anna, sighed, and said, "Miss Stefanelli, struggling is useless. I went through the same thing."

”What?“ Anna frowned.

Elena continued, "When I first interned at Vittorio Group, I aimed to be Mr. Vittorio's personal assistant. There were many competitors, including Tony, who had an edge because he knew Mr. Vittorio earlier. I worked hard and showed progress, and Mr. Giuseppe noticed and appreciated me. I was thrilled. But when I had a chance to join Mr. Vittorio's team, which meant better promotion, Mr. Giuseppe got angry and hit me. That's when I learned he has a congenital personality disorder. If he doesn't get what he wants, he has an episode, especially when it involves Mr. Vittorio."

Elena went on, "He focused on you to make Mr. Vittorio jealous and feel superior. I never thought he'd fall for you. Now, he's serious and won't tolerate betrayal. If you push him, he'll do anything, including destroying you, your daughter, your friends, and even Mr. Vittorio. Do you get what I mean?"

Anna was stunned. She never expected Giuseppe to have such a severe illness. No wonder he seemed off in the car last time. She couldn't believe Elena had gone through this too.

"Do you have to endure this forever? Stay by his side like this?" Anna asked, unwilling to accept such a fate.

Elena pursed her lips. "Mr. Giuseppe is pitiful. His parents always used him, forcing him to compete with Mr. Vittorio about who is naturally excellent. No matter how hard Giuseppe tries, he can't match Mr. Vittorio's effortless achievements. He's thought about suicide many times."

"He's sick, but he needs more care and warmth than Mr. Vittorio. I want to stay by his side, even if it's just to give him a little comfort and love. It brings me peace. Miss Stefanelli, Mr. Giuseppe is unstable. You should stabilize his emotions first. Once he recovers, you can plan for the future. Otherwise, you'll only get hurt," she added.

Anna asked, "Can he really recover?"

"Yes, when Mr. Giuseppe isn't having an episode, he's rational and not possessive. I've found a doctor who specializes in this area, preparing to treat him. Miss Stefanelli, if possible, help me save Mr. Giuseppe. Once he recovers, he'll let go of everything and release you. Consider it repaying the favor of him saving you."

Anna fell silent. Her emotions were complicated and more confused than ever. This was a problem she had never faced before.

"Miss Stefanelli, you and Mr. Vittorio are impossible. Believe me, Mr. Vittorio can live well without you, in peace. But Mr. Giuseppe without you will be completely destroyed. If you don't believe me, let's make a bet. If you lose, help me cure Mr. Giuseppe."

Anna was surprised. "What bet?"

Elena shared her idea. After listening, Anna frowned. 'Can it work?' she thought. She had never thought about testing Giorgio. But she also wanted to see his actions, to know his true feelings. After the test, if the result is unsatisfactory, she could give up and draw a clear line. A relationship without deep love wasn't something she wanted to possess. And she couldn't afford to gamble.

"Okay, I'll try."

An hour later, Anna appeared downstairs. She wore a long-sleeved black top and jeans, covering herself completely. From a distance, she saw Vittorio smoking under the tree, looking cold and deep. She took a deep breath and walked over.

"Mr. Vittorio."
