Chapter 336 Dangerous Giorgio
Charlie came here to investigate Anna and Giuseppe's relationship.
After hearing from his aunt that they were living here, he suddenly understood that his father must have been in a bad mood because of this! That was why he came over to see what was going on.
But this warm and beautiful scene was so hurtful!
Could it be that his father really had no hope left?
As for Penny, she became low-spirited after being scolded by Giorgio and blurted, "Mummy, I don't want him. I don't want to live in his house. Can we go back home?"
Anna quickly hugged her and whispered, "Penny, this uncle is a very good person and he's important to me. Don't be so rude."
"But Mummy, he looks bad. I really don't like him. I don't want to sit at the same table with him."
Anna warned her daughter, "Penny, if you keep talking like this, I will get angry."
"It's fine. Let me handle it." Giuseppe walked over and sat beside Anna, his gentle gaze on Penny. "Penny, right? I'm Giuseppe, your mom's boyfriend. Your mom is young, beautiful, and capable. She has been through a lot and worked very hard to raise you on her own. Don't you want your mom to have a better life? "
Penny nodded.
Giuseppe continued, "Your mom and I are together so that I can share the responsibilities with her and take care of you. Even if you don't like me, it should be me that you're angry with, not your mom. Don't make things difficult for her, okay? "
Penny's gaze shifted and she looked at Anna, saying, "Mom, I'm not mad at you. You don't have to be in a tough spot because of me."
Then, in a spoiled and arrogant tone, she said to Giuseppe, "I'm going to punish you every day and drive you away from my mom."
"Haha, okay. Then eat your steak nicely. After all, your mom worked hard to make it. It would be a waste if it gets cold," Giuseppe replied with a friendly smile.
Penny made a sound of acknowledgment and hopped out of Anna's embrace to eat her meal obediently.
Anna was surprised. She thought that Giuseppe had no experience with children and wouldn't know how to handle them, but he managed to coax the child well.
Looks could be deceiving indeed.
She smiled at him and said, "Thank you. I appreciate it."
"No problem, let's eat." Giuseppe stood up and went back to his seat.
Just as he was getting up, Henna walked in and remarked, "It's quite a feast here, isn't it? It doesn't seem any less luxurious than the main house."
Her words were far from complimentary. By not greeting her and setting up a separate kitchen, it seemed as if Anna was distancing herself, displaying a less-than-ideal attitude.
Henna continued, "Isn't it a problem to eat separately when you're not even married yet? How can it be beneficial if you do get married later?" There was a pointed undertone to her words, suggesting that Anna was provoking conflicts.
Anna naturally understood Henna's attitude. However, she didn't want to argue with her, especially since Giuseppe had helped her. Moreover, Penny was present.
She stood up, smiled, and said, "Mrs. Henna, it's not like that. Giuseppe works hard every day and I can't help much, so I do what I can. If you don't mind, why don't we eat together? You are so beautiful, young, and attractive, it's not worth getting angry for me."
Henna came in with a lot of anger. But faced with Anna's warm and friendly attitude, her anger was useless.
She sat there, feeling frustrated and unable to show her anger, which was truly annoying.
At that moment, another clear and resonant voice chimed in, "Anna can not only cook and do laundry, but she can also navigate relationships with finesse, managing both the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law dynamic. Giuseppe truly found himself a remarkable girlfriend."
With a faint tone, to outsiders, it sounded like praise. But to Anna, it was just ridiculous.
She turned her gaze to Giorgio, who walked in with a dignified stride, and her face tightened slightly.
How did he come back again? What was the meaning behind his words? It seemed more like mockery.
Upon seeing Giorgio, Giuseppe's lips curled slightly. "Giorgio is absolutely right; I also think Anna is great. Has Giorgio had dinner yet? Why not try Anna's cooking?"
Giorgio had already sampled Anna's cooking before, so what else was there to taste?
Anna silently prayed for Giorgio to refuse. However, to her surprise, Giorgio cast a deep and meaningful glance at her and said, "Naturally, I should try it."
Anna was left speechless. She didn't know how to describe her feelings!
Henna initially wanted to make things difficult, but with Mr. Vittorio present, they couldn't air their dirty laundry, so she had no choice but to eat.
"Goodness, these dishes are so delicious! They're even better than the ones made by our chef at home. Did you make all of these?" Giuseppe exclaimed.
Anna nodded gently. "Yes." She didn't overly praise herself or say anything unnecessary.
On the side, Giuseppe took the bowl he had previously placed across from him, naturally sat next to her, and held her hand. "Mom, after Anna finished tidying up the yard this afternoon, she started cooking. She's been busy for hours and put a lot of effort into it. Perhaps she may not meet your or Dad's expectations in some aspects, but seeing how she wholeheartedly cooks for me, I feel happy," Giuseppe said.
As he spoke, he remembered something and turned to look at Giorgio. "It's funny how our preferences are completely different, Giorgio. You like dominant and capable women, ones who are rarely around because work comes first. But I prefer a simple life. I feel happy knowing that she protects me and makes soup for me when I come home.
"Mom, don't you think it's a different feeling when you eat a meal made with someone's heart?"
His heartfelt words were filled with happiness.
Anna thought, 'It is just a simple meal, yet he spoke of it so well. And their relationship isn't even that good!'
But she didn't expose the truth.
Henna was taken aback. She had always disliked her son not having a girlfriend, but she didn't expect that the type of girlfriend he wanted was like this.
If they were from an ordinary family, this would certainly be a good thing. But in a wealthy family, what could he use to compete with others?
It wasn't appropriate to say it here, so she smiled and said, "Yes, it's quite happiness. The food is indeed delicious."
Giorgio sat across with a dignified posture and a reserved expression. His eyes flickered with a mysterious light, making it difficult to discern his true emotions.
Cooked wholeheartedly? Waited for him to come home?
Were they really that happy right now?
His gaze fell on Anna, and suddenly he said, "From what I remember, Ms. Stefanelli is not someone who is so dutiful and virtuous. But these days, she has changed quite noticeably."
Anna's heart skipped a beat. Why was he saying all this in front of these people? What did he want to achieve?
As expected, Henna couldn't help but ask curiously, "Giorgio, did you know Ms. Stefanelli before?"
Giorgio raised an eyebrow and replied, "More than just knowing her, we have not only met many times but also..."
