Chapter 207Girls shouldn't stay up late

Indeed, he treated Edith differently. Even when Edith clearly provoked her that night at the bonfire gathering, he didn't address Edith’s behavior but instead defended her proactively.

It seemed like Anna had arrived at an inopportune time.

Glancing at the soup on the table in the hospital room, the one in her hands now felt unnecessary.

Anna quickly stepped back, hiding behind the wall, preparing to turn around and leave.

"Oh, Miss Stefanelli, have you brought the soup already? Why aren't you going in?"

Coincidentally, she ran into Little Tony, who had just come back from the doctor's office!

His voice wasn't hushed at all, and it was probably audible inside.

Anna felt extremely embarrassed. She wondered what Giorgio and Edith might think if they found out she saw but didn't go in.

She quickly squeezed out a response, "No, I just got here too. What a coincidence, let's go in together."

"Yeah, sounds good." Little Tony responded.

The two of them walked into the hospital room together.

Edith quickly straightened herself from Giorgio's embrace and looked at Little Tony and Anna entering, quickly wiping her tears away.

"Miss Stefanelli, I was just feeling upset and leaned on Giorgio for comfort. There's nothing between us; please don't misunderstand."

Anna offered a light smile. Edith's actions were just those of a scheming bitch.

But it had nothing to do with her; it was Katherine's matter.

She said, "Yeah, I know."

Edith seemed puzzled, expecting a more significant reaction. Based on Katherine's usual personality, shouldn't she have responded with sharp remarks or even physical action? But she was silent, making Edith look foolish.

Stiffening, Edith forced a strained smile and said. "That's a relief. Miss Stefanelli, did you prepare this food? I've prepared something for Giorgio; his stomach is not well, so he should only consume the soup made by me."

This statement was a subtle way of asserting her own importance and emphasizing that she was more valuable to Giorgio than Anna. He only consumes what she makes.

Suddenly, Anna felt that Katherine really have it tough. Giorgio isn't considerate, and there are other women who keep coveting him in turns. Thankfully it's not her in this position, otherwise she would be in deep trouble.

Anna felt sympathy for Katherine and couldn’t resist as she spoke with a hint of sharpness in her tone, "If I had known Edith was so capable, I wouldn't have bothered going back to cook. Edith, could you please take care of the cooking for the next two days. Little Tony, are you hungry? You can have this portion; it'll keep you warm on a chilly night."

Little Tony caught in the middle, didn’t want to get involved. Miss Stefanelli, can she not involve him? He was afraid to eat the soup. Feeling the oppressive gaze from Mr. Vittorio, he quickly said, "Madame, I still have some matters to attend to. I need to assist Mr. Vittorio with the documents at the company tomorrow, so I'll head back now. You and Edith take care of Mr. Vittorio. Mr. Vittorio, call me if you need anything."

After speaking, he discreetly exited the room. He didn't want to get involved in the dispute between the two women.

That left three people in the ward.

Anna decided to speak first, "Since Edith is here, I'll go back too. I want to take care of Charlie when he wakes up tomorrow morning."

She took a step to leave.

For a brief moment, Giorgio's handsome face turned cold, “Who allowed you to leave?"

Anna's steps halted. Should she not leave and disrupt their time together?

Giorgio's gaze shifted to Edith and he said, "You've already worked hard during the day, go back and rest. Come back tomorrow morning."

"Giorgio, it's not a problem. I want to take care of you."

"Be obedient, it's not good for girls to stay up late."

So, it turned out he was concerned about Edith staying up late!

Edith also understood this and said with a triumphant tone, "Alright, Giorgio. Miss Stefanelli, please take care of Giorgio tonight."

With her proud demeanor and triumphant stance, she seemed to be saying, “See, Giorgio cares about me, hm!”

Anna watched her walk away, feeling like a heavy stone had lodged in her heart, suffocating her and making it hard to breathe.

The air became eerily quiet.

After a while, Giorgio noticed that she was still standing there, not attending to the patient, and he coldly remarked, "What's this? You know how to show concern when Giuseppe comes back late, but when I'm sick, you act so indifferent?"

He spoke with a strange tone and a rising intonation at the end.

Anna was taken aback. When did she show concern for Giuseppe? Besides, he had Edith's care, so why would he need her concern?

Although she didn't dare to argue with him, not knowing if she was being monitored, she took a step forward and explained, "You're overthinking it. I was just casually asking earlier. When you were sick, I was worried to the point of tears. That's why I went to the supermarket alone late at night to buy ingredients and rushed over here."

She didn't want to argue with him and was cautious due to potential surveillance, so she emphasized the effort she put into taking care of him.

Giorgio heard her words and a deeper understanding flashed across his face, and then the chill around him dissipated as he smiled.

"Come here and feed me."

What? Feed him? Is he still a child?

Keeping her here was indeed torturing her.

However, as Katherine, she was more than willing to do such things.

Anna found it hard to express her grievances, but she forced a smile and said, "Um, okay."

She approached and placed the soup she was holding on the table, taking the one Edith had made.

"Here, give me the one you made for me," the man commanded in a low voice.

Anna furrowed her brows in confusion and looked at him, "Didn't you say her soup is good for your stomach?"

Giorgio replied, "What, are you loyal to feeding me things made by other women?"

What did he mean by loyal? Was that something she could decide?

Not wanting to say more to him, she still opened Edith's lunchbox.

"If the soup is good for your stomach, then drink it. I'm a bit hungry, so I'll eat later."

With that, she scooped a spoonful, tested the temperature with her mouth, and then fed it to him.

Her movements were delicate, natural, and filled with tenderness. Only someone who had taken care of children could act like this.

Giorgio looked at her and, for the first time, felt that being fed was not a sign of helplessness, but rather a source of enjoyment.

He ate everything she fed him, one mouthful at a time.

After feeding him a few more spoonful’s, Anna suddenly realized that their current actions seemed quite intimate, and there was a special atmosphere in the air.

Attempting to change the topic, she started, "Today I ran into Lucia at the club. She was being chased by debt collectors and seemed helpless. I helped her by using your card to pay off a hundred thousand dollars."

Giorgio raised an eyebrow, "Do you know her?"

"I don't, but when the person asked for her name, I found out. Because of this, Lucia figured out that I'm not Katherine, but she promised not to say anything."

Anna instinctively trusted Lucia.

However, Giorgio caught onto something and looked at her with a deep gaze,"You've been exposed."

Just as the soup was finished, Anna's hands trembled,"What do you mean?"

Exposed? Did he mean her true identity?

Giorgio nodded,"Yes, if tonight's game was set up by someone, everything that happened at the club should be under their surveillance. Asking for Lucia's name doesn't align with your supposed relationship."

Yes! She forgotten that Katherine knew Lucia!

In other words, she had truly been exposed!

Anna anxiously grabbed Giorgio's hand,"What do we do? I'm in trouble! Please help me..."
