Chapter 424 Meeting Like Strangers

What happened?

She called his phone and Charlie's too. Neither went through.

Charlie really messed up this time, making him this mad.

Anna thought for a moment and texted Charlie: [Charlie, did you do something to upset your dad? Tell me everything, okay?]

No response.

Anna got more worried.

Last time in Vista Heights, Charlie got in trouble and Giorgio beat him. Could it be the same now?

She hesitated about contacting Katherine.

But knowing Katherine, she'd think Anna was still in touch with Charlie.

'Forget it, I'll wait a bit longer.'

"Anna, something on your mind? You seem distracted."

Lucia asked after finishing the video.

"No, it's nothing."

Anna snapped back and started organizing her stuff.

After a moment, she decided to tell Lucia.

"Do you think Charlie might be in trouble?"

Lucia glanced at her phone, feeling a headache.

"Charlie is Mr. Vittorio's son; he'll be fine. The main issue isn't Charlie, okay?"

"What? Then what is it?"

Anna looked puzzled.

Lucia pointed at the message, saying, "Look at what Mr. Vittorio said. Adults need to take responsibility for their own mistakes. You probably made him angry. His message implies you should apologize directly. So, he's not that mad; he's expecting you to fix it."

Was that so?

Anna stared at the screen, thinking Lucia might be right.

'But his previous attitude was so cold; it's hard to believe he wants an apology. Besides, it's not just about an apology; there are too many issues between them.'

As she hesitated, Lucia's phone rang.

She answered, "Hello? Yes, okay."

After hanging up, she looked at Anna in surprise.

"Anna, the video we posted on Corystania got great feedback. They want to sign an exclusive contract with us. We need to go discuss it."

"Really?" Anna got excited, "Then let's go quickly."

Lucia felt a headache.

"But I'm nervous. Anna, can you bring your daughter and come with me? I don't have the confidence to go alone."

Over time, Anna and Lucia had developed a good relationship.

After a brief hesitation, Anna said, "Okay. How many days? I'll discuss it with Mr. Vittorio."

"One week should be enough."

"One week?"

When Giuseppe heard, his face darkened slightly.

"We already have limited time. Are you sure you're going for work and not avoiding me for a week?"

"Of course not!"

Anna explained earnestly, "Lucia really shouldn't go alone. As a company member and her friend, I have to go with her. How about this, this week won't count towards our time; I'll extend it for you?"

She spoke sincerely.

Giuseppe looked at her, unable to doubt her.

Given their strained relationship, easing things a bit now wasn't a bad idea.

After some thought, he said, "Okay, but I have one condition."

"What is it?"

Giuseppe said, "Double the seven days, making it half a month."

'Seven more days?' she thought.

Anna frowned. The original month was already her limit, and now he wanted seven more days.

But she couldn't leave Lucia hanging. Besides, if she could handle a month, seven more days wouldn't be that bad.

"Alright," she said.

That night, Anna took Penny and boarded a plane with Lucia.

After nearly fifteen hours of travel, they finally arrived.

"Anna, take a shower and rest. We'll meet them later," Lucia said.

"Okay."

Anna walked to the elevator, exhausted from the long flight. Penny was asleep in her arms, making it a bit tough to carry her.

The elevator door opened.

Anna was about to step in but saw a tall, well-dressed figure step out.

Giorgio!

Both Anna and Giorgio were shocked to see each other.

Wasn't she supposed to be back home? Did she come to find him?

"Mr. Vittorio? What are you doing here?" Anna asked, breaking the silence.

So, it was a coincidence.

Giorgio's eyes darkened, and he walked away without a word.

Anna stood there, stunned.

He had just ignored her.

She knew he wouldn't be kind or gentle anymore, but she didn't expect to be treated like a stranger.

It felt like a thorn had pierced her heart.

"Anna, are you okay?" Lucia asked.

"I'm fine. I just don't understand how we ran into Mr. Vittorio here."

It was too coincidental.

Lucia said, "Mr. Vittorio is probably here on a business trip. Didn't you know?"

She knew, but not that he was coming to this country.

Anna felt conflicted. Holding Penny, who was starting to stir, she quickly snapped back to reality.

"Forget it, let's go upstairs."

"Okay."

The two went upstairs.

As Giorgio walked away, his expression grew colder.

Seeing Anna, he thought blocking her and cutting off her contact with Charlie had forced her to come to Corystania. But the thought seemed laughable.

"Mr. Vittorio? Mrs. Vittorio has booked a restaurant and sent us the location. Also, our business partners will bring our domestic friends to meet us tonight," Tony reported.

Giorgio stared out the window, uninterested in the dinner.

"Okay," he said, and nothing more.

'Mr. Vittorio, every overseas expansion is crucial. Could you be a bit more serious?'

Giorgio had always been professional. When he entered the private room for the evening gathering, he was composed and eloquent.

A mature man doesn't let anything affect business. It's also said they are the most heartless.

"Mr. Vittorio, I have two friends who just arrived today, and they're from Crownhaven as well. I thought we could all chat together. They should be here by now. I'll go meet them," Mr. Johnson said as he walked out.

Giorgio nodded, having no objections.

Anyone Mr. Johnson personally welcomed must have considerable abilities.

Just as he thought this, Mr. Johnson returned with his guests.

"Here they are. Mr. Vittorio, these are the friends I admire."

Giorgio looked up.
