Chapter 36 Falling for Her

Giorgio’s sharp gaze looked down at Katherine from above. "She is your own sister, yet still you believe in rumors so faithfully. Look how it gets you right now! Katherine, I always thought you were a better woman. It seems that I’ve made a mistake." Saying this, he left the woman behind, walking away coldly.

Katherine was stunned as she sat on the bed. She had only repeated Anna's words twice, and it caused Giorgio to become so angry!

And she was still a patient. Anna was just portrayed as a cheap woman that anyone could sleep with, so why didn't he despise her? What magic had her sister done on Giorgio for him to start behaving like this towards her? And why was he suddenly so defensive of Anna?

Giorgio sat inside the car, his large hands gripping the steering wheel, veins popping.

Damn it! He had just lost control of his emotions because of Anna again! What makes her so different?

Regardless of how different she was, no matter how she made him feel, it was the right decision to stay away. Because Giorgio doesn't need to be emotionally controlled by a woman. He had too much shit going on in his life as it is.
...
Anna returned to the villa and spent the next few days wholeheartedly taking care of Charlie, guiding him to be optimistic and joyful.

As for Giorgio, besides their encounters when he came back at night, they had no other interactions. Even at those moments, it was just a simple greeting, and she hurriedly went back home.

Anna felt that it was because he saw her sister getting hurt and felt pained, knowing about their marital relationship, so he deliberately kept his distance with her. Or maybe it was because he had the face of an important person that never changed, and could be gentle or cold-hearted as he pleased. Or perhaps, it was because he subconsciously despised the person in the video as her.

In her heart Anna hoped Giorgio was thinking of her. That he missed her. But she dared not admit in.

Regardless of the reason, their current way of getting along was the best, at least they didn't have to endure Katherine's slaps anymore or experience any ambiguous situations that would make everyone feel awkward.

That day, Anna had just finished cooking dinner when she received a voice message from Sara.

"Anna, there's singles party tonight, and the man I have my eye on will be there! Come back quickly to assist me! I want to conquer that man!"

Naturally, Anna hoped for Sara to find a partner, so she agreed, "Okay, I'll be there soon."

After sending the voice message, she coincidentally heard the sound of a car outside. She looked at Charlie and said, "Charlie, Auntie is going home to accompany her little sister tonight. You have to be good and remember to talk to Daddy a lot. Tomorrow morning, Auntie will bring you a new toy."

Charlie probably knew that Anna would come every day, so he felt secure and nodded.

"Take me to the amusement park tomorrow."

"Okay, I promise not to break my word." Anna readily agreed.

Giorgio and Katherine walked into the villa side by side and saw Anna getting along harmoniously with Charlie. Giorgio's cold face, dignified demeanor, kept people at a distance.

These few days, he had maintained this attitude.

Anna had already gotten used to it, standing up and slightly smirking, "Mr. Vittorio, sister, you're back. I'll go home first. Goodbye."

After saying that, she walked away. With her nonchalant attitude, she didn't linger for even a moment.

A hint of indignation appeared in the corner of Giorgio's eyes. Katherine noticed the small change in his expression, an unsettling feeling began setting in her chest.

These past few days, he deliberately distanced himself from Anna. In the mornings, he would leave before she arrived, and when he came back at night, she would already be gone.
Like this, she just happily left without any contact? For some reason, a hint of displeasure surged his heart, and he didn't even know where that unhappiness came from...

But he knew clear that this was the best way to get along.

In the evening.
At a night banquet bar, colorful lights illuminated the place, vibrant music filled the air, and the dance floor was filled with the lively figures of young men and women.

Sara pulled Anna and repeatedly instructed, "That man is handsome and clean, a warm and sunny guy. He is the most attractive person I have ever seen. I'm sure, I won't marry anyone else in this lifetime except him! Later, you must be mean and bad to me, provoke his sympathy for me, got it?"
Anna nodded but couldn't help but complain, "You said the same thing last time, you scoundrel!"

"Hehe, this is different.” She giggled, “As soon as I saw him, my heart started pounding, and when I close my eyes, all I can think about is him. I have a feeling that I won't like anyone else but him, really, trust me! I..." Sara said earnestly, her voice suddenly becoming quieter as her gaze fixed on an elegant figure walking through the crowd.

She exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, Anna, this man is so handsome too! Even more handsome than that other man!"

Anna looked around in confusion.

See, she wasn't wrong. One moment she's deeply in love, and the next moment she has a new crush. What a scoundrel.

Her gaze followed along and then; she was shocked—it was Simon. He was actually here?

Simon was dragged here tonight by a friend, feeling bored, and was thinking of going out for some fresh air when he unexpectedly saw Katherine.

He elegantly approached her, "Mrs. Vittorio? Are you feeling better now? I apologize, I had something to attend to and couldn't stay until you regained consciousness."

Anna subconsciously remembered the situation where he had saved her that day. If it wasn't for him, she might still be locked up by Black Jack, who knows what might have happened. She felt a wave of gratitude in her heart:

"Thank you, Mr. Dalio, for your concern. I'm completely fine now. I was already grateful to you that day, there's no need to burden yourself. When you have time, I'll treat you to a meal."

She really disliked owing others favors, and she truly appreciated him.

Simon smiled slightly, "Since that's the case, sooner rather than later."
