Chapter 404 Ignoring Him Again?

'Damn it! What's wrong with me? He's Katherine's husband!' Anna thought, feeling a wave of guilt and confusion.

A new message from Giorgio popped up.

Giorgio: [Talk later, got something going on now.]

Anna sighed in relief, but curiosity gnawed at her.

'What's he doing so late? Are he and Katherine still trying to get pregnant to make Viviana happy?' she wondered.

The memory of walking in on them that day made her feelings for him vanish instantly, leaving her anxious and breathless.

'He's someone else's husband, someone else's man. Why do I have so many emotions for him? Why am I jealous? Why do I care?' she thought.

Giorgio sent a few more messages, but Anna didn't read or reply. She couldn't stand the idea of sharing a man with another woman. Giorgio, thinking she had fallen asleep, felt a bit disappointed and turned off his phone.

That night, Giorgio used his injury as an excuse to book a separate room, and Viviana didn't question it. Lying on the spacious bed, he couldn't help but think of Anna's lips and their intimate moments in the car.

The next day, the sun was shining brightly. Giorgio got up, tended to his wound, and changed into a suit. Normally, he would have thrown away the black pants from yesterday, but thinking about Anna's shy look at the counter, he softened, washed them by hand, and hung them to dry.

By the time he finished, it was already nine in the morning. Giorgio took a picture of the drying clothes and sent it to Anna, realizing she hadn't replied to any of his messages from last night.

'Could she still be asleep? No, she would be up early making breakfast and sending her kids to school. Maybe she hadn't checked her phone?' he thought, feeling an unusual anxiety.

He dialed her number.

Meanwhile, Anna was at her desk in the studio, staring at the incoming call, not wanting to answer.

"What's wrong? Did you have a fight with Mr. Vittorio?" Lucia asked, concerned. "Actually, Giuseppe isn't as simple as he looks. Mr. Vittorio may seem deep and complex, but he's often quite straightforward."

Anna looked over and said, "What's up with you? Just because of that house, you think Mr. Vittorio is a good person and give him such high praise?"

Sara smiled faintly.  "That house isn't simple. Even Viviana can't step inside it. Think about it."

Anna fell silent. In the end, she decided to answer the phone, but the call ended at that moment.

'Forget it. Time to work,' she thought.

Lucia was full of anticipation, excited about her planning and Anna's performance.

They quickly got to work. Today's video was to be shot on location, making an apple pie. Anna, dressed simply, took a basket and went to the field outside to pick apples. She washed them clean by the river and then went back to the kitchen to start making the pie. All the materials and tools were eco-friendly, and the entire process was done by hand.

It took a full three hours to complete the filming. Just as they finished, something very unexpected happened—the entire house lost power.

Even stranger, other places still had electricity.

"Anna, could it be..." Lucia's voice trailed off, a hint of unease in her whisper.

Anna instantly caught on to Lucia's insinuation. "Don't let your imagination run wild. Ghosts aren't real. And if Giorgio's into a girl, she's gotta be cool, not spooky. I'll go check the main switch; probably just tripped."

"Okay," Lucia replied, following Anna outside.

Observing Anna expertly handle the switch, Lucia felt a wave of respect. Post her split from Enrico, she had prided herself on independence. Witnessing Anna's grit, however, Lucia realized Anna's resilience was no weaker than her own.

After checking, Anna frowned.

"Strange, it didn't trip. I guess the wiring hasn't been used for too long and has aged. We'll need to get an electrician to look at it."

"But we only have usage rights for this house. Should we call Mr. Vittorio to ask?" Lucia suggested.

Anna scratched her head.  "I don't think so. Maintenance should be normal, right?"

"What are you doing?" A sudden voice rang out.

They turned around and saw Enrico, dressed in a suit, exuding an air of nobility and authority. His chiseled face showed a hint of concern.

Lucia frowned. "What are you doing here?" Her attitude was quite cold.

Unfazed, Enrico walked up to her. "My wife's studio is opening today. I came to bring a gift."

Lucia retorted, "Who's your wife? Consider the gift received, now you should leave."

Enrico's mouth twitched slightly. Whether admitting he was wrong or pursuing her, he had been persistent for several months, and her attitude hadn't changed a bit.

He changed the subject. "You haven't answered what you were doing."

Lucia said, "The wiring is shot. Anna doesn't want to call Mr. Vittorio. Can you fix it?"

Enrico took a step forward and responded, "Of course I can fix it. If I do, have dinner with me tonight."

Without waiting for her refusal, he took off his suit jacket, handed it to her naturally, rolled up his shirt sleeves, revealing his well-defined arms, and started fixing the wiring.

Lucia was slightly stunned. She had forgotten. Enrico had spent three years in a special forces unit, capable of everything from fixing rockets to cooking. However, his gentleness had never been given to her before.

"Lucia, the power's back!" Anna's happy voice rang out in less than ten minutes.

Lucia snapped back to reality, watching Enrico come down from the ladder. His white shirt was stained with some dirt, but it didn't diminish his nobility at all. He looked at her and asked, "Wife, what's for dinner tonight? You decide."

Lucia blushed.

Anna felt she was intruding on their intimate moment, so she quickly said, "I'll go clean up the studio and pick up the kids. You two carry on." Then she quickly slipped away.

Enrico glanced at Anna's retreating figure. She was quite sensible.

Suddenly, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from Giorgio. He answered, "You're calling me from out of town. What's up?"

Giorgio got straight to the point. "The power went out at the scenic spot today. I remembered the old house hasn't had its wiring checked in two months. Can you go take a look?"

"You think I'm an electrician?" Enrico mildly protested, then added, "Though it's a coincidence, the power just went out here. Lucia and Anna were at a loss, and Anna didn't want to contact you. Luckily, I came over."

Giorgio frowned. Anna didn't want to contact him?

She had already dropped off her kids and spent most of the day at the studio, which meant she wasn't ignoring her phone.

His good mood from last night vanished. He hung up the phone directly and went to find Viviana, heading back to Crownhaven.
