Chapter 441 Katherine's Divorce Terms
Maybe he was just too cold, and she didn't need to fake being gentle.
She made her stance clear, no pretense.
The air was tense, like a tight string.
Giorgio stared at her.
He never thought the usually gentle Katherine would be so insistent.
His eyes were deep as he said, "Not even once? What about four years ago?"
Katherine froze. "If I remember right, you weren't drunk or confused that night. So, does that not count?" Giorgio said coldly, discussing the most intimate matters.
Katherine's palms clenched.
She had spoken too quickly and forgot her words.
That time four years ago was with Anna, not her!
She quickly composed herself and said calmly, "You were drugged then. I want to be with you when you're sober."
Giorgio laughed sarcastically, "Sorry, but even if I were drugged now, I might not be interested in you, let alone sober. Katherine, know when to stop."
He walked out coldly.
Katherine stood there, feeling utterly defeated, her dignity crushed.
Not even interested when drugged—what an insult!
Desperate, she called out to him.
"Mr. Vittorio, I don't believe it! I want to see if my body is really not as good as Anna's. If you truly have no interest in me even when drugged, I'll agree to the divorce. Otherwise, never mention divorce again."
Her voice echoed.
Giorgio paused at the door.
She couldn't see his face.
After about five seconds, his cold voice came through.
"Alright."
Downstairs, Giorgio didn't take Katherine with him. He got in the car and told the driver to go.
Looking at the city lights of Corystania, his face was noble, his demeanor cold.
Agreeing to Katherine's condition didn't bother him.
Resolving his relationship with Katherine was urgent.
He didn't think he would fail.
Except for that night years ago when he wasn't aware, no matter how proactive she was, he never felt anything.
Even with more drugs now, it couldn't numb his nerves.
Giorgio didn't believe in failure.
He took out his phone to check Anna's messages to lighten his mood.
But there was nothing except his own messages.
Anna seemed indifferent to him.
At the dinner party, Giorgio was in a bad mood.
After an hour, a business partner stood up to apologize, "Mr. Vittorio, sorry, it's Valentine's Day, and my girlfriend insists I go back. I'll invite you another day to apologize."
Another partner said, "Me too. I've received ten messages. If I don't go back, I'll get scolded."
Even the senior executive of the signing company took out his phone.
"Exactly, I've been married for years, and now I'm living like a young person. If I don't buy a gift, she'll find another man. Mr. Vittorio, the contract is signed, and you surely want to be with Mrs. Vittorio too. Let's call it a night and reschedule."
One after another, they all wanted to go back, all had girlfriends urging them.
In contrast, Anna was like air, invisible, and when absent, suffocating.
Giorgio agreed coldly, went downstairs, and checked his still unresponsive Facebookt, feeling angry.
His fingers swiped back and forth, and he clicked on her profile picture, entering her Moments.
His face turned icy.
Her Moments had updated ten minutes ago with a post: "The sun is nice, and the breeze is gentle," along with a sunny picture.
She was using Facebookt, meaning she saw his messages. She had time to post but not to reply to him!
Annoyed, Giorgio sent a message: [Am I air to you? Or are you, as a girlfriend, air? Anna, this is not how you handle a relationship.]
Just after dropping Penny off at school and arriving at the studio, Anna saw the notification and read his messages.
Even through text, she could tell he was very angry.
But she didn't mean it!
Anna: [What's wrong? When you messaged, I was washing up, then got busy dropping off Penny and forgot. Later, I thought you were busy too, so I didn't want to disturb you.]
Giorgio was full of anger, but her reply calmed him down a bit.
Giorgio: [Do you know what day it is today?]
Anna: [What day? Are you angry because of that?]
Anna looked confused.
Giorgio: [Valentine's Day]
Valentine's Day? Anna checked her calendar and saw it was indeed Valentine's Day.
But Giorgio Vittorio actually cared about this day.
Anna: [And then?]
'And then?' he thought.
Giorgio: [Then you should show some appreciation. But you are ignoring your boyfriend today.]
Giorgio directly expressed his feelings.
He always solved problems when they arose and enjoyed himself when they didn't.
Anna: [Isn't Valentine's Day a day for boyfriends to give gifts and money to girlfriends? It doesn't seem like girls need to do anything.]
Giorgio's eyes darkened, but he smiled.
He was angry because she didn't reply. On such a day, he shouldn't be ignored.
Her response pleased him. At least it proved his presence as a boyfriend.
Giorgio: [True. Are you working at the studio?]
Anna replied: [Yes, tidying up a bit, and then going to the house to shoot the second video.]
Her and Lucia's content had been approved, and they needed to shoot more to stock up.
She typed: [Are you done with work? Get some rest early, I'm going to work.]
Giorgio: [Okay, stay safe.]
Seeing his reply, Anna felt a bit bitter.
She mentioned boyfriends should do something, and he didn't even say anything.
Forget it, she wasn't a child, she didn't care.
"Anna, chatting with Mr. Vittorio? You don't look happy," Lucia said, standing beside her with a camera.
Anna was startled and put away her phone.
"No. Not at all."
"Don't lie to me, your expression says you're in love," Lucia said with a sigh.
"Love is easy, being in love is hard. Since you've stepped out, give it your best. What did Mr. Vittorio give you today? Is it too traditional? Is that why you're unhappy?"
Anna shook her head.
Traditional gifts would be fine; he gave nothing.
In foreign countries, such days are more valued. Did he and Katherine celebrate it?
He should have given Katherine a gift.
A wave of bitterness and sorrow spread through her heart.
