Chapter 332 This Attitude Toward Me?
His unseen aura felt stiflingly dense, constricting. Anna, overwhelmed by a suffocating sensation, instinctively lifted her gaze, only to find herself ensnared by the intense darkness of his dangerously captivating eyes. It was as if a potent magnetic force emanated from within them, drawing her inexorably closer.
Her heart tightened, and she couldn't help but feel nervous. Every time she saw him, she felt uneasy. But considering the prison conditions and his attitude toward her before, she quickly calmed down. She casually averted her gaze and moved closer to Giuseppe.
That kind of gaze, that kind of attitude, the unfamiliar distance and lack of emotions, it was even more terrifying than being with a stranger.
Giorgio's gaze grew even deeper. Looking at her indifferent face, he vaguely felt that she was different from before. He didn't know exactly how she was different.
"Viviana? Viviana?" The doctor's voice rang out anxiously in the room.
All heads turned to see Viviana's complexion growing increasingly pallid, her breaths becoming more labored with each passing moment.
"What should we do?"
"Is mother leaving?"
"She was perfectly fine before her birthday."
A sense of anxious panic filled the room as everyone spoke frantically.
Yet, despite their distress, the doctor remained utterly powerless.
The old woman was of old age, and this kind of situation was normal. Even if she couldn't catch her breath and passed away, it would still be considered normal.
"Excuse me, can you all make some room?" Just then, a melodious voice sounded.
Everyone turned their heads and saw Anna struggling to squeeze past a few people, sitting down by the bedside, and holding Viviana's hand.
"What are you doing?"
"Are you a doctor?"
"Don't act recklessly, you won't be able to bear the consequences if something goes wrong."
Panic spread through the room as their worries echoed all around.
"Giuseppe, your grandmother is delicate. Get Anna out of here quickly. Really, why did you bring her back?"
"You're becoming more and more reckless."
Faced with his parents' accusations, Giorgio looked troubled. He hadn't anticipated Anna taking such initiative.
Viviana was not an ordinary person. If something went wrong, none of them could bear the responsibility.
But last time at the hospital, he and Edith didn't understand the old woman's intentions, only she did. Could there be another surprise this time?
He approached and asked, "Anna, are you sure?"
"I don't know either, give me three minutes," Anna casually replied. Her small hands pressed on the radial side midpoint between the first and second metacarpal bones on the back of Viviana's hand, massaging and pushing in with force.
She seemed quite professional.
Giuseppe's mouth twitched. She didn't know either? Yet she dared to act? How could he feel at ease?
He decisively couldn't take Viviana's situation as a gamble. He said, "Anna, just let go."
"That's right, you're a stranger, why don't you listen?" Henna was slightly annoyed and scared that her family might get into trouble because of Anna.
Seeing Anna still pressing, she walked forward and tried to pull her away.
A slender yet powerful hand clamped onto her wrist, asserting dominance with authority. She looked up to meet the gaze of a man with an extraordinarily cold and imposing visage.
"Let her try, I'll take responsibility if something goes wrong." Giorgio's voice was deep and powerful, exuding a strong aura.
Henna's expression stiffened.
The person speaking was the high and mighty Giorgio! He actually stood up to speak for Anna? Saying he would take responsibility? What was going on?
The others were also surprised.
Mr. Vittorio cared the most about the old woman and had the best relationship with her. Now he was disregarding the safety of the old woman? Letting Anna experiment?
What was happening?
Amidst everyone's astonishment, a long breath sounded in the air.
Someone exclaimed, "Quick, look! Viviana's condition has improved!"
Everyone's gaze shifted and indeed, they saw Viviana lying on the bed, her body stable. Her breathing wasn't as rapid as before, and her complexion was gradually improving!
"She is getting better."
"So amazing!"
"Miss, may I ask how you did it?" inquired two curious doctors.
As specialized professors, they found themselves baffled. How had this young girl managed such a feat?
Giuseppe and the others looked at Anna, feeling both curious and slightly embarrassed.
They didn't believe her, yet she actually achieved it.
In everyone's gaze, Anna calmly stood up and explained, "There's nothing special about it. The old woman has a heart condition, right? I pressed the Neiguan acupoint.
"When I was little, my grandma told me that this acupoint can treat symptoms such as angina, myocarditis, rheumatic heart disease, bradycardia, arrhythmia, shock, and fainting. So, I gave it a try."
So that was how. Unexpectedly, in the end, an old technique saved the old woman.
The gaze of everyone toward Anna began to shift. She appeared ordinary and unremarkable, not as dazzling as Katherine, but she had saved the old woman twice. Perhaps she wasn't as useless as they had thought.
Afterward, at the dining table, everyone's attitude toward Anna was quite good. They initiated conversations with her.
"Ms. Stefanelli, can we call you Anna? I envy you so much when I see the news about you and Giuseppe. So sweet."
"Yeah, I used to think you two were just casually dating or pretending. I even envied that photo of you both eating Mexican food."
"So, how is Giuseppe? This child has always seemed gentle and caring to me since he was young."
The elders at home kept asking Anna.
Anna glanced at Giuseppe, who was conveniently serving her soup.
Perhaps, he hadn't fully stood on her side or trusted her before. But he didn't immediately pull her away and still asked her. He had done well.
She smiled and responded, "Yes, Giuseppe is a good person. He's more considerate than I expected, and I'm very happy with him. Meeting him is also my lucky charm."
No matter what happened before, at least this time, the prison incident was his redemption.
Anna's statement was too heavy. Giuseppe looked at her innocent and grateful expression, and his face darkened slightly.
He had almost pushed her into hell before and saved her two days too late, and it was for his own selfish reasons. Yet she treated him as a lucky star.
Nevertheless, he changed the topic. "You should eat more vegetables. Look how thin you are."
"Yes. You should eat too." Anna lowered her head and ate her meal.
Her smile, joy, cheerfulness, and affirmation toward Giuseppe caught Giorgio's attention. His eyes grew darker.
After the meal, Giuseppe still had to accompany Viviana.
Anna worried that Penny would wake up and be scared to not see anyone, so she quietly slipped away alone.
Just as she left the main courtyard, an elegant and slender figure walked toward her from the opposite side.
It was Giorgio, the person she least wanted to encounter!
She quickly composed herself and greeted him lightly, "Giorgio."
Her voice was faint and cold.
Giorgio raised an eyebrow, his lips curving coldly. "You have a good relationship with Giuseppe? Is that why you're treating me like this?"
Anna gazed at him with an extremely cold look. "Why not?"
"What kind of reaction do you want from me? I think I've been quite respectful toward you. And yes, I do have a good relationship with Giuseppe. Thanks for your concern, Giorgio," she replied.
After finishing her words, she took a step and prepared to leave.
Giorgio's handsome face became icy. He reached out and held her wrist, staring straight into her eyes.
"Have I offended you?" he asked.
Offended? Certainly not.
Anna chuckled and said, "Where did you get that idea? I am who I am, and you are who you are. How could you possibly offend me? I can't afford to be upset. I have things to do, so I'll leave."
This time, without waiting for him to ask again, she let go of his hand and walked away directly.
Her petite figure didn't hesitate for a moment and exhibited no courtesy.
Giorgio stood still with his slender figure, his breath filled with frost.
Anna treated Giuseppe so well that her eyes shone, but she was cold and distant toward him.
Was this woman not valuing him enough?
