Chapter 389 Giorgio, Stop Being Nice to Me

Anna discovered that he also had a pleasant voice.

She took a deep breath, "Don't be nice to me anymore."

She was stubborn, but she could feel his affection for her.

She was afraid of his straightforwardness towards her over the years. She was afraid that she might actually have feelings for him. But in the end, he was not someone she could fall for.

"We are not from the same world. No matter how good you are, I can't afford it."

Giorgio's gentle eyes darkened suddenly. Stepping forward, he placed his arm beside her, controlling her in a small space, saying, "This is Earth, and we are in Crownhaven. How are we not from the same world? Are you from the outer space?"

Anna didn't expect him to question her like that. At such a close distance, his wounds made her feel guilty and heartbroken. His breath made her nervous.

She said, "You know what I mean."

Giorgio bent down, his other hand lifting her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes, saying, "I don't know and tell meclearly."

It was a command. Anna tensed all over. Fine, she would make it clear. She pursed her lips and said seriously, "You are Katherine's husband, even if you are divorced, you were once a couple. At the same time, you are the heir of the Vittorio Group. Your identity, power, and status entitle you to play with women and leave them at any time. Even if it's me, you can treat me as you please, kiss me without my consent. I can't do it. I can't bear the feelings of being fooled around with and I don't have the energy to play with you all. I just want a stable life."

She spoke so clearly, so distinctly.

Giorgio looked at her lips moving. After listening, his thin lips pressed tightly, increasing the pressure on her chin, saying, "Anna, I really want to kill you."

'Why was she so sure he was playing with her?'

"We've been together for so long, is that how you judge me?" His slightly raised voice carried a hint of anger.

Anna's chin hurt.

'Otherwise? Could it be genuine?'

Even if he said so, she wouldn't believe it.

'Men are always good at deception.'

'When they go out of their way to please a girl, they can say anything.'

She said seriously, "Anyway, I've said what I needed to say clearly, Mr. Vittorio, don't be nice to me in the future. You're injured and find a doctor to open a ward. I'll go out and buy some food."

After saying that, she ran off from the other side.

Giorgio stood still, cold and unspeakable all over. Suddenly, he realized that she seemed clever and cunning, but was actually quite foolish. Since she begged him not to be kind to her, it meant she was starting to be afraid that she might really like him.

'How could he miss such a good opportunity?'

After Anna went downstairs, there was a restaurant on the side of the road.

She went in and ordered two plain meals. She atespicy spaghetti. The spicy taste of the spaghetti kept burning her lips. She didn't feel uncomfortable at all, instead, she felt refreshing. She sweated a little because it was too spicy.

Ever since she found out he didn't refuse to save her, there had been an inexplicable ambiguity in their relationship.

'It shouldn't continue and it wasn't ethical. It would be best to put an end to it for them.'

Her phone suddenly rang. Anna saw it was Lucia, took a tissue, wiped her nose, and answered,"Lucia, sorry. Viviana asked everyone to accompany her on a trip. I forgot about work."

"It's okay. I'm not calling you about that. It's about that house."

"Do you know what that house means to Mr. Vittorio?" Lucia asked.

Anna shook her head, "I don't know."

Lucia said, "That's where Mr. Vittorio's deceased first love used to live, andeven Viviana can't step into it. So when Katherine called asking for it, Mr. Vittorio couldn't possibly give it to her. The two weeks she mentioned were probably just a lie to you. I overheard Enrico and Tom talking about it tonight."

Anna was suddenly stunned, the spaghetti she was eating became tasteless in her mouth.

'Deceased first love? He must have deep feelings for that house. No wonder Giorgio was so furious that day. He must care a lot about that girl.' Anna thought.

"Anna, such an important house, Mr. Vittorio gave it to you directly, so he seems to be really good to you." Lucia said seriously.

Anna felt a mix of emotions.

She knew Giorgio was good to her. His maturity, elegance, and gentle charm were like opium, seducingher.

'But the more poisonous, the more one should stay away. Because once you get involved, you can't quit.' She thought.

"Lucia, thank you for telling me this, but I and him are destined not to be together. I'll hang up now."

Anna hung up the phone, no longer in the mood to eat.

She paid and carried Giuseppe and Giorgio's food, slowly walking back to the hospital.

The night breeze was cool. Her shadow reflected on the ground, slender and lonely.

'If he wasn't Giorgio and she wasn't Anna,  and if they hadn't had that night four years ago, maybe... Would there be a slight possibility for them to be together?' Anna thought.

"Anna, you're quite proud." Suddenly, a sarcastic voice rang out.

Anna came to her senses and saw Katherine standing not far in front of her, staring at her with a condescending attitude.

"Making two men rush to find you, and they both got hurt for you. You are really a good model of a despicable person. Teach me how to pretend to be innocent and pitiful, while actually seducing men."

Thinking about Giorgio leaving her behind to go up the mountain, Katherine was filled with anger and wanted to slap Anna to death.

Anna looked at her without any guilt.

'Perhaps she and Giorgio couldn't be described as having no relationship at all. But she had never thought of seducing Giorgio, nor had she any bad intentions. So She was not guilty.' Anna spoke to herself.

"You pretend to be a good person on purpose, making me go talk to Mr. Vittorio about the house contract, because that's one of the things he cares about the most, right? You wanted him to hate me, didn't you?"

'She wasn't stupid. She didn't believe Katherine was being so kind-hearted.' Anna thought.

Katherine didn't expect Anna to uncover the truth. Her beautiful face stiffened, then she said condescendingly,

"So what if I did? Shouldn't I make Giorgio hate you, stay away from you? Anna, not only do I have to do this, you have to do it too!"

Katherine stepped forward, getting very close to Anna, looking at her and said, "I've already told Giorgio that unless he marries you and you willingly marry him, I won't agree to a divorce. Your task now is to find a way to make Giorgio hate you. Only then can you leave Crownhaven unscathed."

Anna knew about their conversation that day.

She had never thought of stealing Katherine's husband, but Katherine was so aggressive, proud, making her very dissatisfied, "Katherine, you even used Mr. Vittorio's deceased first love. And you haven't repented yet, you really scare me. I won't do the task you mentioned. If you have the ability to make him love you wholeheartedly, so that no woman can shake his true feelings for you. Otherwise, don't come tp make a noise at me."

"You!" Katherine stomped in anger.

Anna ignored her and walked away. She might be foolish, but she wouldn't do anything that was not in her best interest. Offending Giorgio was absolutely pointless.

Anna arrived upstairs.

Anna was surprised to see Giorgio standing outside Giuseppe's ward, looking aloof.

Doctors and nurses were moving the bed inside.

Her eyebrows furrowed, and she quickly ran over, "Mr. Vittorio, what are they doing?"
