Chapter 497 You Are Beautiful Today
Inside the private room, Anna was glued to the screen, watching clips of Katherine's recent chats with the docs from Imperial Glory Hospital. All they needed was some dirt on Katherine bribing those docs to head over to Crownhaven, and things would get spicy.
Anna turned to Sara, "Hey, did you catch how Katherine's all smooth and casual in these vids? Like, she's got no special convos, almost like she knew this was coming?"
Sara nodded, "Totally. She's even acting all concerned, but it's so fake. She must've known someone would snoop around and was just putting on a show."
Anna agreed. She used to think Katherine was cool, but after all this, she wasn't buying it anymore.
Anna said, "Sara, we're on the same page. I bet these vids are from the wrong dates. We need to dig deeper. I'll hit up Giuseppe for more footage."
Lately, Giuseppe had been a lifesaver, covering her tracks and giving her a safe spot to chill. And he hadn't asked for anything in return, which made her see him differently and feel super grateful.
She was just wondering how things were going on Giorgio's end when there was a knock on the door. A voice called out, "Miss, it's the water cooler service. Can you open up?"
Since no one else had shown up recently and there was no threat, Anna let her guard down and opened the door without thinking twice. But as soon as the door swung open, she froze!
Instead of service staff, there were tall, intimidating bodyguards in black suits. Leading them was Giorgio, looking sharp in his suit and radiating power.
She had just been thinking about him, and now here he was!
"Mr. Vittorio." Anna's face went pale, her voice shaky. She wanted to step back and shut the door, but it was too late.
"Scared?" Giorgio looked at her, then waved his hand, "Take her away."
Two bodyguards stepped forward, grabbing Anna's arms.
"No, let me go!" Anna struggled, looking at Giorgio, yelling, "I just had something to do and didn't want to stay at the villa. The drug I used to knock you out was harmless! Please forgive me. Don't take me back."
She had just found a crucial lead and couldn't afford any delays.
Sara didn't expect Giorgio to be so forceful and quickly stepped forward to plead, "Mr. Vittorio, Anna had her reasons. Please don't take her away."
"No need to explain to me." To Giorgio, Anna had teamed up with Giuseppe to drug him and escape, which was a big no-no. He coldly left his words and turned to leave with an air of indifference.
"Anna! Anna!" Sara was super worried and tried to pull her back, but the bodyguards pushed her away.
Anna quickly said, "Sara, it's okay, you keep working. I'll be back."
As soon as she finished speaking, she was dragged away and brought back to the villa. The bodyguards tossed her at the door and quietly retreated.
Giorgio's tall figure stepped out of the car, exuding a cold aura.
"Mr. Vittorio, I didn't mean to." Anna anxiously stepped forward, trying to explain.
Giorgio's cold gaze swept over her, interrupting, "Stand here and think about what you did. Or call your ex-boyfriend, or the one before that. I wanna see how they take you away this time."
Anna was stunned by his sharp and sarcastic words. But before she could say anything, he had already entered the villa and slammed the door.
In the vast garden, only her thin figure remained. Around her was only the cold wind and dark night.
Anna's heart sank bit by bit. She had planned to stay out of his way, sort out the mess with Katherine, and then head back to Vista Heights. And he wouldn't get tangled up again.
But now, just three days later, she was dragged back, and he was still pissed, making things even messier! She had no clue how to convince him to let her go.
The next second, the sound of a car broke the silence. Anna turned her head and saw a luxury RV rolling up through the night.
It was Katherine's ride! If Katherine found out she was here, it would be game over!
Anna quickly ducked behind a nearby bush, the thick leaves hiding her small frame.
Soon, Katherine stepped out of the car. She was rocking a tight, strappy dress, showing off her shoulders and legs, with a slim waist and perky hips, looking drop-dead gorgeous.
Then Anna saw Giorgio come out of the villa. Katherine immediately approached him, her voice all soft and sweet, "Giorgio, hope I'm not late?" She was super surprised when Giorgio asked her to come over, so she took extra time to doll up.
Giorgio shot a cold glance at the bushes, his eyes deep and unreadable. He said, "No, you look stunning tonight."
After all these years, it was the first time he had complimented her looks!!! Katherine was almost jumping with excitement, trying hard to keep her cool. "Thanks. Let's go inside. I got you a gift."
The two of them walked into the house, all cozy. Anna, hiding in the bushes, watched the door close. In the last second, she saw Katherine's beautiful, smiling face, and her hands clenched tightly.
He left her outside while Katherine was inside. This was his way of punishing and humiliating her, a blow to her dignity, a torment to her heart and soul.
Even though Anna was sad, she couldn't help but keep an eye on what was happening inside the villa. Not long after, shadows of two people appeared on the living room curtains. She saw Katherine step forward, her slender figure wrapping around Giorgio's tall frame.
The lights went out, setting the scene.
Seeing that, Anna's heart tightened!
That day, she had wanted to see Katherine's angry and ugly face, so she had deliberately kissed Giorgio. But now, the table was turned and she was the fool!
Cold raindrops started falling on her cheeks.
It was hard to tell if the water on Anna's face was rain or tears.
She sat dazedly in the bushes, wearing very little, her whole body soaked by the rain, shivering with cold, but she didn't react.
Inside the house, Katherine was in a very good mood. It was raining, and the power was out; she thought even the universe was on her side. As long as she hooked up with Giorgio and got pregnant, everything would be secure!
She raised her hand to reach out. The next second, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by Giorgio's cold, strong hand. "Who said you could touch me? Get out."
Katherine was pushed onto the sofa, a mix of chaos and shock. Tonight, he had invited her, complimented her on her looks, and she thought he wanted to get it on. But after touching him, his attitude flipped. If it weren't for the fact that he had hooked up with Anna years ago and had a son Charlie, she would really suspect he had a problem with sex!
Despite her frustration, Katherine didn't dare to piss off Giorgio and quickly apologized, "Giorgio, I thought you were finally into me. I'm sorry, if you're not happy, I'll leave right away."
"Stop." Giorgio said coldly, "Stay here tonight."
With that, he walked upstairs.
Katherine was left stunned on the sofa. 'He won't touch me but wants me to stay? What's going on?' she thought, something felt off.
As Katherine was wondering, she suddenly noticed a shadow flickering outside in the lightning and thunder.
