Chapter 359 Brave and Determined
He was dressed in a light-colored suit, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand, gentlemanly and gentle.
Seeing her, he smiled and walked toward her slowly.
"What's wrong? Do you need my help?"
Anna dared not tell him that she was going to see Giorgio.
"Nothing, just a small issue. But how come you're here?" He didn't say he was coming.
Giuseppe's gaze grew deeper.
Before coming, he received a message from Katherine about the house matter. Now that she didn't want to tell him, did she feel that the relationship between her and Giorgio was not pure?
He didn't express his true thoughts, instead, he said, "I'm here to pick you up after work. I've asked my secretary to pick up the kids. Tonight, we'll go watch a movie."
This was the third time Giuseppe mentioned watching a movie. Anna couldn't refuse, especially with his gentleness exerting an irresistible force.
She nodded lightly. "Okay. Lucia, I'm going back today. Let's figure things out together tomorrow. Don't stay up late, your health is important."
"Okay, bye." Lucia watched Anna and Giuseppe get into the car, feeling slightly surprised.
She had always had a bad impression of Giuseppe before, but seeing him just now, he seemed very gentle, and his gaze toward Anna was pure and sincere.
Perhaps he really liked her.
In the car, Giuseppe glanced at Anna and said, "Look at what's on top."
Anna focused and saw a beautifully wrapped gift box on the dashboard. She reached out, opened it, and found a very pretty pink gemstone necklace inside.
"Giuseppe, is this for me? I'm sorry, I can't accept it."
"Wear it, I don't want others to say I'm stingy, that my girlfriend has nothing around her neck."
"But..." With both flowers and a necklace, she felt pressured.
"Giuseppe, I think we should just relax and get along. I don't like these things," Anna suggested softly.
He said, "I'm not short of money, so it's only natural for me to give you gifts. If you feel pressured, just consider it as an accessory, you can leave it behind when you leave."
That was all she could think of.
"Then don't deliberately buy things for me in the future."
"Okay."
They chatted, and the car soon arrived at the movie theater.
To their surprise, it wasn't a regular theater but a drive-in theater.
Anna felt helpless.
When she was with Simon before, he would also take her to do things, which wasn't awkward.
However, for some reason, now that she was with Giuseppe, she always felt under pressure.
Because of the situation with Giorgio, her mood wasn't good, and she just sat there, not really paying attention to the movie.
Giuseppe noticed her demeanor, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes behind his glasses.
Suppressing his emotions, he took out his phone and messaged Giorgio.
Giuseppe: [Anna needs that house, can you give it to her? I'll exchange it for something else if you're willing.]
At that moment, at the Golden Age Retreat, Giorgio leaned back against the sofa, his expression cold, gently swirling the red wine glass in his hand.
Under the light, the splendid wine looked bright and vivid, akin of fresh blood.
The air around him was chill.
Even Tom, who often spent time with him, felt that his oppressive aura could freeze someone.
He asked, "Who sent the message? Why do you look so grim?"
There was no response.
Enrico took the phone, looked at the contents on the screen, and his expression turned grim.
"Giuseppe is asking you for something for Anna, he's quite brave and serious."
"Giuseppe? Speaking of him and Anna, I heard something strange." Tom leaned in next to Giorgio.
"Giorgio, do you want to know what it is?"
Giorgio gave a cold glance and said expressionlessly, "Just say it."
"Alright, don't give me that look, I'll tell you," Tom said seriously.
"When I was at work today, I heard from one of his friends that Giuseppe spent a lot of money buying flowers and a gemstone necklace to express his love to Anna, to ask her to be his girlfriend. But aren't they already dating? Why the need for this? Do you think there might be a problem here?"
Giuseppe wanting Anna to be his girlfriend?
That didn't sit right with him.
However, thinking of Anna's actions of asking Giuseppe for the house, he downed a glass of wine.
"They're just flirting, what's so strange about that?"
Giorgio's attitude was cold.
Tom frowned. "What's wrong with you? Weren't you talking about finding out what offended her earlier? Now you have no thoughts again? Let me tell you, don't think about anything, just accompany Viviana well. Her check-up today wasn't optimistic."
Giorgio looked puzzled. "Isn't her health stable?"
"Even so, she's getting older. The professor estimated her lifespan to be only about half a year, I think it might be even shorter."
These words made Giorgio's face darken.
He had spent a lot of time with Viviana since he was young, and she was very fond of him. Now being told that she only had such a short time left to live.
"I'm going back."
"Okay."
Tom and Enrico didn't stop him.
After all, for now, it was fortunate that his attention wasn't on Anna.
"Tom, have you noticed that Giorgio's mood today is unusually off? It seems like something big has happened to him."
"Yes. He doesn't want to talk about it, let him calm down on his own."
"I wish I could turn back time, then I definitely wouldn't let him go on a business trip to Vista Heights, so he could meet Anna. I could research amnesia drugs or experiments."
Giorgio drove back to the Vittorio family in the city. The journey too him half an hour.
Once the alcohol had worn off, he entered Viviana's room and sat on the edge of the bed:
"Grandma, you're not asleep yet?"
Viviana opened her eyes, her gaze soft and weak, lacking the former majesty.
Even her voice sounded weak.
"Giorgio, where's Katherine?"
"She's busy, does grandma want to see her? I'll message her now." Giorgio took out his phone.
However, Viviana waved her hand. "No need, let her come tomorrow. I know my own health condition, I have no regrets, I just hope you and Katherine are well, don't disappoint me."
Giorgio felt heavy-hearted.
He didn't like being manipulated, but seeing her fragile state, he said, "Okay."
Viviana could tell he wasn't happy about it, sighed, and placed her weak hand on his.
"Giorgio, there are some things I need to say today, I'm afraid I won't have time in the future. I absolutely must have you and Katherine together, not just for the Vittorio family, but more so for you."
Her words carried a heavy weight, containing special information.
Giorgio furrowed his brow in suspicion. "What do you mean for me?"
Viviana said, "There's something very important on her that you need. That is..."
