Chapter 215 Wife
Anna frowned, unable to comprehend. She felt her body had no symptoms apart
from the usual ailments.
Rizzo said, "After donating blood, your red blood cell count has dropped again;
it's very low, which is also one of the reasons for your fainting. You should visit
the hospital every month for stable treatment going forward, eat more dried
fruits and animal organs to strive to get better. Otherwise, your body will be
prone to problems in the future."
"Okay." Health always comes first, and Anna naturally hoped to maintain her own
health so she could take good care of Penny.
Rizzo seemed to want to say more but glanced at Giorgio beside him and
ultimately held back, saying, "Take a good rest. By the time you're discharged,
Katherine will probably be awake."
That meant that in the next two days, all she needed to do was staying in the
hospital, and afterward, she could plan for a full recovery
Anna nodded and watched Rizzo leave, then turned her gaze to Charlie:
"Charlie, darling, are you feeling better from your cold?"
"Yeah. Anna, I'm okay now." Charlie walked to the bedside, took Anna's hand in
his small ones, and said with a pitiful look of guilt, "Anna, I'm sorry. I shouldn't
have gone to the snow mountain. If I hadn’t gone there, you wouldn’t have
gotten sick and fainted."
The child’s voice was tender and cute, his expression pitifully apologetic, looked
utterly pitiable and adorable.
Anna reached out to rub his face: "Charlie, you’re overthinking it. Anna's illness
has nothing to do with you. Didn’t you say yesterday was your happiest day? It
was Anna's happiest day too."
Charlie: "Really? Anna, you’re really not mad at me? You don’t blame me?"
Anna: "Of course not."
Charlie: "Then Anna, does the promise you made to me still stand?"
"..." Anna fell silent.
She had promised to be with Giorgio for a month, not as Katherine, but as
herself, Anna—and he still remembered it. But that agreement was made under
duress, and now, back in reality, Giorgio was married, she had a boyfriend; they
couldn’t cross that moral line.
"Well, Charlie, listen to Anna..."
"Is Anna planning on breaking her promise to a three-year-old?" Charlie
interrupted.
His clean, clear eyes looked at Anna, without any impurities, making it feel like
deceiving him was akin to committing a crime.
Anna swallowed the words she was about to say, not wanting to hurt him but
also unable to agree directly. Instead, she changed the subject:
"Anna is sleepy. Charlie, are you sleepy too? Do you want to come up to bed and
sleep next to Anna?"
Seeing that she didn’t outright refuse the request, Charlie was still pleased. He
climbed into bed, his small body curling up in her arms like a little kitten.
Having not rested well the night before, and in such harsh conditions, both
Charlie and Anna quickly fell asleep in the warmth of the bed.
Giorgio sat aside, watching the two, one big and one small; no matter how he
looked at them, they seemed harmonious and warm—more like a mother and son
than Katherine and Charlie did.
But when Katherine woke up...
For the first time, Giorgio faced this issue squarely.
What would happen to his relationship with Anna after Katherine woke up? How
would he handle Charlie's affection and dependence on Anna, as well as his sham
marriage to Katherine?
Could he manage everything properly?
Could he manage everything properly?
"Mr. Vittorio, um..." Anna's voice suddenly broke the silence of the room.
Giorgio turned back to look at her, seeing her delicate face peeking out from the
blanket, embarrassed and troubled, as if wanting to say something but then
shutting her mouth.
Giorgio frowned and sat up straight:
"What is it?"
His voice was deep and inquiring, unexpectedly gentle.
Anna's face turned red, her lips parting twice, as she struggled to speak, finally
saying:
"Could you call a female nurse for me, please?"
A female nurse?
Giorgio roughly guessed Anna's embarrassing predicament, stood up and said,
"I'll go buy it for you."
"Ah?" Buy what? She hadn't said anything.
Anna was stunned.
Looking down at her, Giorgio countered, "You’re on your period, right? Don’t
you need sanitary pads?"
Anna did indeed need them! But she didn’t want him to buy them! Initially, she
just wanted him to ask Tony to help.
"I think it's better to have a nurse help with that, they surely know where the
grocery is." The key point was that it was too embarrassing for him, a man, to buy
those things for her.
Giorgio looked at Anna's embarrassed face; her gaze didn’t dare meet his eyes.
He said, "We've shared a bed countless times, why be so shy about this?"
Anna: "!!!"
Who had shared a bed with him like that! That time it was Charlie who schemed it
all! How could he say it so nonchalantly!
Not wanting to argue any further, she pulled her head into the comforter:
"Go ahead and buy it if you will, I prefer tampons."
Her voice was awkward, not a single hair visible, resembling a tiny turtle
retracting into its shell.
The corners of Giorgio's lips curved ever so slightly as he turned and left the
hospital room. There was a grocery 500 meters down from the hospital.
Masked, Giorgio walked in, nearly 6 feet 3 inches tall, his remarkable presence
still drawing the attention of numerous women.
"Wow, so tall, so handsome!"
"Hey handsome, can we I have your phone number?"
Some people just have that kind of charm; they attract attention the moment
they appear.
However, unfazed by the excited voices and gazes, Giorgio turned and
approached the convenience store clerk: "Where can I find tampons for women?"
Woman! Tampons!
These words together equaled girlfriend!
Instantly, the atmosphere among the female crowd has cooled down.
"So he has a girlfriend already."
"What a shame."
"I'm so envious of his girlfriend. Not only is he tall and handsome, but he’s also
personally buying her feminine hygiene products!"
"Ah! What kind of girl gets such a perfect boyfriend? So jealous."
Whispers continued unabated.
Even the sales associate who was asked the question froze. As the man
approached her, she felt as if a strong light shone into her life, a prince stepping
out of a comic book, but in the next second, that light shattered.
Heartbroken, such a handsome man, why must he be taken?
"I was asking you something." A cold, stern voice intensified, cutting through her
daydream.
Giorgio hated it when people stared at him like infatuated fools.
The sales associate trembled, snapped back to reality, and quickly said, "Oh, this
way, I'll show you."
With a frosty demeanor, Giorgio followed her.
In the general merchandise area, various promoters were pitching products, and
a female sales associate immediately approached:
"Sir, are you buying something for your wife?"
Wife.
That word made Giorgio narrow his eyes.
He was buying these items for Anna, who was currently acting as his wife. The
idea of connecting 'wife' with her didn't seem...
Out of place at all?
