Chapter 282 Punishment in the Car!

In the late hours of the night, the car glided along the wide highway like a stealthy wolf in the dark. Inside, the atmosphere was hushed and filled with tension.

Anna glanced at the distinguished man beside her, feeling his icy aura pressuring her, making it hard to breathe.

She clenched her palms and remained silent, not daring to speak or ask why he was driving her.

Little Tony, in the driver's seat, was also sweating cold bullets as he gripped the steering wheel.

He had witnessed Mr. Vittorio being cold before, but never to this extent. Driving in silence, he attempted to blend into the background as much as possible. But frustration gnawed at him - where was he even supposed to be heading?!

His head was killing him...

After wandering aimlessly on the road for five minutes, the man finally broke the silence with his authoritative voice, "Aren't you supposed to catch a flight at three?"

He was addressing Anna.

Her grip tightened, "Yeah, I was supposed to leave at three. I didn't expect that news to break. After getting a call from my sister, I had to stay."

She spoke as if nothing of consequence had happened.

Giorgio's expression grew colder, his piercing gaze shooting towards her, "Didn't expect the news to break? So, during the time you pretended to be Katherine, did you really do those things with Giuseppe, hm?"

His upward inflection felt like a hammer of ice. Anna suddenly realized what he was implying!

The only time she had been near Giuseppe was when she was impersonating Katherine, and he had indeed seen them together several times!

Was he suspecting that she had betrayed him?

She was at a loss for words, her lips sealed, unable to muster a reply.

Seeing her like this, a wave of intense anger surged through Giorgio as he grasped her slender wrist with his long-fingered hand, pinning her against the car door beside her. His gaze fell icily upon her face, “You’re admitting it?

What did you tell me before? That you had nothing to do with Giuseppe? And what's the outcome?

Anna, I clearly underestimated your talent for seducing men!”

His voice was laced with scorn and rage.

Anna felt engulfed by the chilling aura he emitted as if suffocating.

The pain in her wrist caused her internal laughter to turn cold.

Edith, whom she'd never met, doubted her clarification, but he condemned her without asking a single question.

He hadn't even considered for a moment that it might have been Katherine's doing!

What could she say to a man like that?

Suddenly, the pain in her wrist seemed to fade, and she looked at him with a calm resolve, “So what if it's true? You marry Katherine, Simon has other women, can't I seek happiness for the rest of my life?

Or perhaps, Mr. Vittorio, you feel possessive, thinking after one or two encounters with me, you have any right to pry into my affairs?

Sorry, whom I associate with and when is none of your business. Please let go.”

Her voice was clear but edged with a spine.

Already boiling with fury, Giorgio found her words only fueled his anger.

“If you’re so casual, then doing something right here, right now, wouldn’t matter to you either, right?”

As he spoke, his strong hand tugged fiercely, and the sound of fabric tearing rang through the air.

Little Tony in the front seat went pale with fear, hastily sliding the partition closed!

‘My God! Mr. Vittorio, always so distinguished and measured, was getting physical with Anna in the car!

This was unbelievable!’

That the Mr. Vittorio he knew.

Anna was also stunned by Giorgio's boldness; such actions made her feel like a cheap hostess. In a fury, she raised her hand, “Giorgio, are you insane? Even if I were promiscuous, it's none of your concern! Let go of me, let me go!”

A woman's struggle was but a vain effort against a man's strength.

Giorgio held her hands down with one hand while lifting her chin with the other, silencing her incessant chatter. Deception was his most despised thing.

Thinking of her intimacy with Giuseppe, his heart grew irritated and restless.

His forceful grip was not a tender kiss but a harsh clamp. Even as the metallic taste of blood filled their mouths, he didn't release his hold. Tears streamed down Anna's face from the agony, but the pain in her heart was even greater.

She and he had clearly agreed to be nothing to each other, and now, with the news of 'her and Giuseppe,' he confronted her like this and in the car!

The disrespect weighed on her like a heavy stone, constricting her throat and making it hard to breathe. Then, suddenly, he flipped up the hem of her skirt! Anna couldn't believe he was actually going for it. Startled awake from her reverie, she snapped back to reality and bit down hard...

"Ah!" Giorgio winced in pain as he pulled back from her lips, staring intensely at her.

His gaze was dark and menacing, like a wolf lurking in the night, ready to devour her.

Anna was scared but pushed aside her fear; shifting her gaze away, she quickly adjusted her clothes, then—she pushed open the car door and bolted out.

Thud!

She landed in the landscaping outside, rolling and leaving disarray in her wake.

It was clear she was hurt!

"Stop the car!" Giorgio, not anticipating such a reckless move, commanded with a heated voice.

Tony abruptly stopped the car.

When he saw Anna standing outside, he was taken aback.

‘What the hell happened? Did Miss Stefanelli jump from the car?

God, what on earth did Mr. Vittorio do to her...’

Giorgio stepped out of the car, his aristocratic and chilly demeanor intact, ready to approach.

But in that instant, the woman limped and hopped into another taxi, slammed the door shut, and took off!

Clearly avoiding him! She wanted nothing to do with him!

Damn it! She could be carefree with Giuseppe in a karaoke bar, but with him, she didn't even consider her own safety!

The coldness intensified, making the night even more chilling.

Inside the taxi.

"Driver, could you please go a bit faster, even faster?"

Anna urged anxiously, peering into the rearview mirror at the tiny figure of Giorgio. Despite the distance, she could still feel the destructive aura emanating from him.

"Sure," the driver, oblivious to the fact that the luxury car behind them belonged to Giorgio, sped up and warned kindly, "Young lady, why were you hailing a cab on the main road so late at night? That was quite dangerous."

"Yeah, it was an emergency, thank you," Anna replied.

She covered herself with her clothes, feeling miserable inside.

She never wanted to encounter Giorgio, never wanted any entanglement. Why does fate keep bringing them together?

"By the way, miss, did you see the news today? I couldn't believe Katherine actually had a twin sister. The parents of the Stefanelli Group are so harsh, sending their own daughter off to the countryside. I tell you, that sister's situation seems quite complex, too. She says she doesn't want the exposure, but by coming to Crownhaven and mingling with a guy like Giuseppe, how could she not get noticed? But honestly, even if she's back for revenge, it's understandable. This is going to be quite a show."

The news must've been controversial, as the driver couldn't resist gossiping about it with anyone.

Anna wanted to protest.

Did they believe everyone craved attention?

Was others' pain just gossip fodder for them?

Sadly, she was in no mood to care about what the outside world thought of her; she sat quietly, silent.

Soon, the taxi arrived at the villa Katherine had provided for her.

That was when it hit her...
