Chapter 71 Showing Off in Front of Me?
Anna didn't know how to feel. She quickly rejected, "No need, Mr. Dalio is busy and needs to go to work."
Simon had already opened the car door and gotten out, saying, "It's fine, Katherine is right."
Anna, somewhat helpless, followed Simon into the house.
When they appeared hand in hand, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, the man elegant and gentle, the woman delicate and lovely, they looked like characters in a beautiful fairy tale, pleasing to the eye and sweet.
"Wow, Mr. Dalio, Penny said on the phone last night that you're going to be the future daddy. You and Anna match well."
Little Tony also wanted to say that Mr. Dalio is indeed a perfect match, but the anger on Giorgio's face sitting on the sofa couldn't be concealed anymore!
He silently faded into the background, not daring to speak.
Giorgio coldly glanced at their joined hands, a slight smile at the corner of his mouth, his voice low and hard to discern his emotions, "Mr. Dalio, are they forcing you to get married again? Are you really this undecisive in finding a girlfriend? And it seems you are not very selective."
What is he saying? How can he say that he's not selective in choosing Anna?
Anna felt annoyed and immediately grabbed Simon's arm, saying, "Of course not, right? Just now Simon was complimenting me, saying that I'm beautiful, young, independent, and kind. He's lucky to have found me, right Simon?"
Giorgio tightened the hand hidden in his trousers. If there was light, it would surely illuminate the bulging veins.
Simon also didn't expect Anna's attitude to become so enthusiastic. Last night he told her not to call him Mr. Dalio, and she muttered about it for a long time before finally changing her way of addressing him.
He gently raised his hand and rubbed her head, saying, "Hmm, I'm the lucky one. Being with you is not because of my parents' pressure, it's my own decision."
"This shows that you have good taste. I love you," Anna said, tilting her chin proudly at Giorgio.
Hmph, he can despise all he wants. At least there's still someone who treasures her!
Katherine looked at the happy couple and smiled, saying, "You've just started dating and you're already so sweet. Mr. Dalio, I hope you will always treat Anna like this. If you ever break her heart or mistreat her, I won't let you off easily."
Charlie also clenched his little fist, saying, "Mr. Dalio, although I like you, if you ever hurt Anna, I'll also punch you."
Simon reached out and rubbed Charlie's head, saying, "Don't worry, I could never bear to hurt Anna. I'll treat her well."
As they spoke, he subtly increased the strength of his grip on Anna's hand, as if making a promise to reassure her.
Anna's hand felt warm on the back, feeling somewhat unfamiliar and awkward, but it's normal for a boyfriend to hold her hand. Why should she feel embarrassed?
At breakfast, some people were happy while others were quite unhappy.
In any case, Mr. Vittorio remained cold-faced and filled with a chilling aura throughout.
After the meal, Katherine said to Simon, "Mr. Dalio, are you heading to the company? I
"Take your car and go over there, the crew is right there," Anna told Simon, to which he naturally had no objections and replied, "I'll go to work first, then pick up Penny in the afternoon, and come to pick you up."
Even Penny agreed to it?
Giorgio felt annoyed again.
Anna didn't notice his mood throughout and smiled, saying, "Well, then I'll trouble you." It was quite troublesome to make someone play the role of a father so early in a relationship.
"No trouble. But as a girlfriend, don't you do anything when we're apart?" What should she do? Katherine walked over and tapped Anna's forehead, saying, "You're silly, Mr. Dalio wants a kiss from you. You're already grown up, why can't you date?"
Oh! But that's too embarrassing, isn't it?
Anna subconsciously glanced at Giorgio, feeling that his icy gaze was like an invisible ice blade, ready to kill her.
She felt embarrassed and troubled, but then realized why she should look at him? She would be misunderstood by him again soon. She quickly looked away, tiptoed and gave Simon a quick peck on the cheek, saying, "See you in the afternoon, bye-bye." Then she hurriedly ran off, feeling extremely shy. Simon stared at her figure, lips curved with a doting smile, and only after a while did, he takes his eyes off and look at Katherine.
"Let's go."
"Okay." Katherine followed and sat in the car, saying, "Mr. Dalio, thank you for being with Anna. Anna has dealt with many rumors and misunderstandings, and people have slandered and criticized her, but I believe they're all fake. Anna was raised by her foster parents, she has worked hard since she was young, excelled academically, and is a good girl, quite pitiful too. She has never been in a relationship before, you are her first boyfriend. You must treat her well."
Every word Katherine said was true. This was the first time Katherine spoke well of Anna, not for any other reason, but for herself.
Anna had come outside to bid them farewell.
If Anna and Simon were in a relationship, it would no longer disturb her and Giorgio. Simon reassured, "Don't worry, I have good judgment. Since I've made my choice, I won't give up easily."
"I have to say, Anna," Katherine began with a sweet smile, her words laced with insincerity, "you look absolutely stunning today. That dress suits you perfectly."
Anna blushed, genuinely pleased by her sister's compliment, but she knew it was probably fake. "Thank you, Katherine."
Katherine forced another smile, though her heart was far from it. "Of course, dear sister. That's what family is for, right?" Her words dripped with bitterness, her envy growing stronger.
Simon, unaware of the underlying tension, interjected with enthusiasm, "And you two seem to have such a close bond. It's incredible how supportive you are of each other."
Katherine's smile tightened, masking her true emotions. "Oh, absolutely," she replied, "Anna and I have always been inseparable. We're each other's biggest cheerleaders."
Katherine felt her jealousy intensify. She couldn't help but compare herself to her sister, feeling inadequate and envious of the love and attention Anna seemed to effortlessly receive from others. It seemed like Anna was entering her life and taking over. On Charlie. On Giorgio. She wanted to make the best of this situation and get rid of her.
"Katherine is being modest," Anna chimed in, attempting to lift her sister's spirits. "She's an incredibly talented artist and always has the most unique and creative ideas."
Katherine felt her jealousy twist into bitterness at the mention of her artistic talents. She knew Anna meant well, but in that moment, all she wanted was to be the center of attention, to have her own accomplishments celebrated.
Simon, ever the attentive boyfriend, added, "That's impressive! You must be really proud of her."
"Oh, yes, of course," Katherine replied, trying to hide her resentment. "I am always proud of my sister's achievements."
Giovanni in the front seat added, "Mrs. Vittorio, you can rest assured. Our boss has had a good impression of Miss Anna since the first time he saw her, but he suppressed his emotions at the time because of your status. Now that he can be in a relationship with Anna, Mr. Dalio will not disappoint and is not a fickle person."
These confident words articulated Simon's fondness for Anna in just a few words. Katherine smiled slightly, feeling relieved and jealous. She was relieved because Simon would definitely treat Anna well, thus restraining Giorgio.
She was jealous because how could someone as good as Simon also like Anna? What is so special about Anna? Isn't she just a country girl? Inside the villa, Anna stood in the kitchen, feeling a bit confused. She had never kissed a man in her entire life.
Man, aside from the forcibly kissed that night four years ago and Giorgio's previous kiss, could that just now be considered her first kiss initiated by her? Although it was only on the face, thinking about it still feels shy.
Why should she reminisce about the past when she has met someone as good as Simon!
Quickly pulling herself together, she tidied up the kitchen and walked out, ready to find Charlie.
The spacious living room was unusually quiet and empty.
Where is everyone? Could it be that Charlie went to work with Giorgio as well?
Anna was about to ask curiously when suddenly, a tall figure appeared, blocking her way.
As she looked up, she saw the refined suit, dress shirt, tie, and above that, the exceptionally handsome and deep face.
"Mr. Vittorio, what are you doing here? Haven't you gone to work yet?" Giorgio's words carried a cold tone.
She was petite and weak, standing in front of him, just a small existence. But it was this smallness of hers that continually displeased him!
He raised his large hand and pinched her chin, forcing the words out of Giorgio's lips:
"Showing affection in front of me with your boyfriend, you really dare to do that."
