Chapter 30 His Gentleness
Anna felt awkward. She had thought it was Alessandro who saved her and took care of her, so she was disappointed. Now, thinking back, it was Simon who had saved her.
She curved her lips. "N-No, just a bit surprised."
Giorgio naturally knew she wasn't telling the truth but couldn't be bothered to argue with her. He didn't ask further and said, "What do you want me to do about your stepmother and Black Jack?"
"Huh?" Anna looked at him in astonishment.
Why did his tone make it seem like he wanted to help her and protect her? Besides Alessandro, no one had ever said they wanted to help her seek justice.
An inexplicable sense of unease arose in her heart. She spoke cautiously, afraid that he wouldn't be willing to help. After all, Black Jack had a powerful presence in Vista Heights, and with those connections, no one dared touch him.
But for Giorgio, there was no one who couldn't be touched.
His voice was cold and stern. "Yes, I can."
Anna felt relief. "Thank you. It seems like this society is suitable for fighting fire with fire, and using power to suppress power." If they were like her, ordinary and powerless, there was no way to seek justice and they could only be bullied.
Giorgio seemed to understand the helplessness and bitterness in her words. The corners of his mouth lifted. "In the future, if you encounter any problems, you can call me. I will be there to help immediately. Don't be foolish like this again."
Anna's heart skipped a beat.
How was she being foolish? It's just that his tone didn't sound domineering, but rather caring. The sense of unease and warmth in her heart grew stronger, and she took a deep breath.
What am I thinking? He's my sister's fiancé. He should be taking care of me for my sister and Charlie's sake.
"By the way, how is my sister? Is she feeling unwell anywhere?" Anna asked.
Giorgio gave her a cold glance. "Instead of caring about others, you should care about yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, Little Tony entered the room with a doctor and said, "Mr. Vittorio, we obtained the antidote. The doctor will use it to treat Miss Stefanelli."
Little Tony seemed hesitant and clearly wanted to say something.
Giorgio turned around elegantly and instructed the doctor, "Apply the medicine to her face."
Then, he walked out of the room.
Anna, prompted by his words, looked at herself in the mirror and realized that half of her face was swollen like a pig!
Oh no! Was that how she had looked when she spoke to him earlier? How embarrassing.
In the corridor, Little Tony hesitated and spoke in a low voice, "Mr. Vittorio, when I was searching Black Jack's house for the antidote, I found this..."
He handed over a stack of photos and a trembling DVD. The images on them were of 'Anna' being tied up and violated by Black Jack.
Damn it!
Giorgio's eyes turned cold, and his whole body exuded a chilling air. It was as if it were midwinter, freezing enough to kill someone.
Suddenly, he felt that the punishment Black Jack would receive from the law was too lenient!
He coldly declared, "Get rid of Black Jack and throw him into the border garrison."
Little Tony trembled with fear. Naturally, he understood that 'get rid of' meant killing the man, and the thought of what would happen to Black Jack who had been 'gotten rid of' and thrown into the garrison was unimaginable.
He lowered his head and was about to carry out the order when he heard the man's chilling voice again.
"Destroy all of these things and make sure no one sees them."
It was an order that couldn't be resisted.
Little Tony understood that this was to protect Miss Stefanelli, but Mr. Vittorio's face was filled with a chilling anger and gloominess that made him feel even more terrified than if he had destroyed his woman.
He didn't dare to say more and lowered his head. "Yes, Mr. Vittorio."
After Little Tony left, Giorgio looked back at Anna, who was undergoing treatment in the hospital room. There was an indelible frostiness and depth in his eyes. If only he had listened to Charlie's advice and paid more attention to her, maybe she wouldn't have experienced those things.
What would she do to forget the painful darkness that lay ahead?
Giorgio stayed in the hospital room and didn't leave.
Anna felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to find an excuse to make him leave, but she didn't know what to say.
In the quiet air, a man and a woman sat there, inexplicably awkward.
After a long silence, Giorgio spoke first. "Are there any other injuries on your body? If you need a private physician or a psychologist, just say the word."
Huh?
Why would she need a private physician or a psychologist? Did he think she was so timid that she had been scared?
Anna shook her head. "I'm fine."
Giorgio's gaze deepened as he thought she was pretending to be strong. He stood up and said, "Don't worry too much. I've already had Little Tony take care of it. You'll be alone in a little while."
Why did something feel off? Did he misunderstand something?
5 p.m.
All the medicine on Anna's body had dissipated, and she was discharged smoothly. Because she was worried about Charlie, she followed Giorgio back to Seine International.
However, she never expected that her sister would be at the villa!
Under the bright light, Katherine wore an apron and held a bowl and chopsticks. She was beautiful, elegant, and completely looked like the mistress of this villa.
Seeing Anna returning with Giorgio, Katherine's hand trembled in anger, her knuckles turning white, and the chopsticks in her hand bending a few degrees.
So, he had said he had work matters and went to see Anna?
And damn it, Anna had been saved!
Anna stood in front of her sister, who looked like she wanted to kill her, feeling completely at a loss, unsure of how to explain.
But no matter how she explained it, her sister was bound to hate her.
"Auntie." In the midst of the tense atmosphere, a soft, childlike voice sounded. Charlie came down from upstairs and ran to Anna's side.
"You're back. You didn't come back last night, and I was worried that the bad people took you away."
Anna's heart was filled with tenderness as she looked at the child.
She had been knocked unconscious and disappeared for a whole night, and no one had come looking for her. She had thought that no one would care if she lived or died, but unexpectedly, this little guy was worried about her and missed her.
She picked him up. "I'm sorry, Auntie was delayed by something last night. Charlie, you're so good."
Giorgio glanced at the mistiness in her eyes and understood that she was still upset from last night. He said to Charlie, "Let's not mention the past. Take Auntie to eat."
"Okay." Charlie happily led Anna to the dining table and personally made her a plate.
Katherine watched in anger.
She had spent the whole day trying to please Charlie, but he hadn't said a word to her, instead giving her a cold shoulder. And now, he was so close to Anna!
That damn kid!
"Your sister was kidnapped and injured. Take care of her," the man said in a low, pleasant voice. Katherine regained her senses, smiled, and said, "Okay. Giorgio... are you leaving?"
Giorgio made a cold sound. He didn't want to bother with the information she had brought that led to the misunderstanding with Anna.
Katherine felt disappointed and discontented.
He hadn't really looked at her since he returned. He only spoke about caring for Anna, and now he was leaving. So, he intentionally brought Anna back?
Suppressing her anger, she forced a smile, and in the next moment, she suddenly...
Raised her arm and wrapped it around his neck, tiptoed, and moved in to kiss him...
