Chapter 472 Uncle Giorgio
Yesterday, thanks to Giuseppe, she had already ticked off Giorgio.
Even after that, feeling guilty and wanting to make it up to Giorgio, she didn't turn down his request.
Sure, it was something normal for a couple, but it was still kinda out of guilt!
She didn't want to piss off Giorgio anymore!
Before Giuseppe could say anything, Anna cut in, "Go back! No matter what you do, I won't like you. I'm super busy right now and don't have time to chat."
"Wait." Giuseppe held the door that was about to close, looking at her with those gentle eyes.
"I know about your grandma's situation and have some ideas to discuss with you."
Elodie? How did he know?
Anna was shocked and asked, "How do you know about my grandma?"
Giuseppe looked at her deeply and said, "Since I like you, naturally I keep tabs on your situation. When you met with Mr. Dalio, I got the gist of it."
He really laid his feelings out there.
Because of Elodie's situation, she had to let him in. "Alright, you got ten minutes. After you finish talking, you leave."
For someone like the young master of The Vittorios, getting kicked out was a new experience.
Oh well, just getting in the door was already a win.
Giuseppe sat at the antique square table in the living room, watching Anna make coffee for him out of courtesy, and got straight to the point.
"I did some digging. Your grandma's condition is really bad. Coming up with that plan was already the best the doctors at Imperial Glory Hospital could do. So you need to take this seriously."
Anna's face darkened again. She knew this was already settled, but hearing it again still made her heart ache.
"However," Giuseppe suddenly changed his tone, "I want to remind you that your grandma is old. Even if she recovers from the surgery, her life expectancy won't be long, maybe five years, three years, or even two years."
Yeah, Elodie was already 75 years old.
Anna hadn't thought about this before, but even if she had, she couldn't just give up on Elodie and watch her go.
What surprised her more was Giuseppe's change.
If it were before, he would have taken the chance to get involved and make her give up on Giorgio.
But now, he was actually breaking it down for her, making her think calmly.
Suddenly, she felt that all her efforts weren't in vain.
Saving a person's soul was pretty meaningful.
"Thank you, Mr. Vittorio. And, you've really changed for the better."
Both sentences were sincere.
Giuseppe, getting her acknowledgment, looked even more gentle.
He also realized a lot after seeing things clearly.
At this moment, he felt that being recognized for doing good was better than forcing a bond.
"Am I coming at a bad time?" A sudden cold voice interrupted.
Anna turned around and saw the noble and elegant Giorgio coming in with a black umbrella, his face cold and stern.
Obviously, he misunderstood!
"No, I was just talking with Mr. Vittorio about something." Anna quickly explained.
Giuseppe also stood up and said, "Uncle Giorgio, I know Anna is feeling down, so I came to comfort her and offer some advice. I still have to go to the project department, you two talk, goodbye."
He left gracefully.
Anna gave him a grateful look.
Otherwise, with two men together, she really wouldn't know how to handle it.
But her look made Giorgio feel a sting in his heart, painful and displeased.
"When did you get so close to him?" The rising tone carried a bit of sarcasm.
Anna quickly looked away, glancing at the high-and-mighty, god-like man, and explained, "He really just came to talk to me about something serious, and I was just thanking him. Don't be upset; I have nothing to do with him."
It would've been better if she hadn't mentioned "something serious", but as soon as she did, Giorgio's eyebrows shot up, and he asked, clearly annoyed, "When something serious happens, you go to Simon, you go to Giuseppe, but you don't think of telling me. Do you consider them your boyfriends, or do you think I'm not important as your boyfriend?"
Anna was stunned!
He knew?
She only went to Simon because his parents were in the medical field, but from his perspective, it did look kinda shady.
Seeing her not speaking, Giorgio, though pissed, didn't want to argue right now.
He loosened his tie, swallowed his anger, and put the breakfast on the table. "Eat something. I'll help you figure out a solution."
Anna's eyes immediately welled up with tears.
She thought he would be mad and argue, but he suddenly changed his attitude and cared about her health, hitting her right in the feels.
She felt like crying...
Her sad look made Giorgio's heart soften.
And it seemed she wasn't mad because of the news, which made him feel better.
He sat on the bench, pulling her into his arms, speaking in a gentle voice, "You're not a kid, are you? Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to your Grandma."
His voice was soft, his breath warm, and even the hand wiping her tears was so gentle.
Anna felt like a reliable mountain was surrounding her.
So warm, so broad, so reassuring.
Actually, from the time the incident happened until now, although Simon helped her, she was suffering alone inside, bearing the blow and the tough choices.
It was like a heavy mountain pressing on her, making it hard to breathe.
Now, his gentleness finally made her feel that she had a shoulder to lean on, and she was no longer alone.
She took a deep breath and said, "Giorgio, you're thirty, and I'm only 22. In front of you, I'm just a kid."
Giorgio looked at her delicate little face.
Not to mention her age, her fair skin, red lips, and clear eyes could make people believe she was an 18-year-old girl.
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you indirectly saying I'm old?"
Anna rarely smiled. "Yes, being 8 years older is really a bit old. I can call you Uncle Giorgio."
Giorgio's mouth twitched, pinching her cheek.
"Being older means being mature and steady, knowing how to care for people, more suitable to be a husband than young guys who are inexperienced. You should be grateful."
Guess no one promoted themselves like this.
But he was indeed mature and steady, with a career and patience.
She should indeed be grateful.
Anna smiled, "Then Uncle Giorgio, I want to eat. Have you eaten? Have you changed the dressing on your wound?"
Being called Uncle Giorgio at 30 was indeed rare.
But Anna's soft voice made the title not unpleasant, but rather intimate.
"I haven't eaten, but I changed the dressing. Now I'll eat with you."
"Okay." Anna got off him, sat to the side, and opened the breakfast.
Because of this little commotion, she now had the mood and appetite to eat.
But Giorgio, just after taking a bite, got a phone call.
Glancing at the caller, he said, "You eat first."
He walked outside with his noble posture to take the call.
Anna sat in her seat, putting down her fork to wait for him.
Because it was very quiet, and the country house had no soundproofing.
Soon, she heard Giorgio's deliberately lowered voice outside—
"Are you sure? It's very important to me. Please verify it again. Okay, I'll come to see you."
The tone was complex, seemingly distant yet intimate.
'Who is he talking to?' Anna thought.
