Chapter 191 Mirlinda's Pregnancy
At this moment, Anna sat with Giorgio on the top floor of the Riverside Restaurant, enjoying breakfast while admiring the breathtaking scenery.
"Wow, it's so beautiful and magnificent," Charlie was also amazed by the picturesque view. In his black and white world, the two large, yellow "egg yolks." reflected splendor of the view.
Anna held his small hand and couldn't help but think that if Penny were here, she would definitely say they were super-sized egg yolks.
Unfortunately, the three of them couldn't be together. The time they had spent together before was already a gift from heaven. Giorgio sat across from her, and for some reason, he sensed sadness and affection emanating from her.
She was just an unmarried young woman, how could she be loving? He averted his gaze and said to Charlie, "I like it here, let's come more often in the future."
Charlie was delighted, "Sure, we can bring Anna along, and Penny too."
Anna was afraid that there would never be another chance. She also hoped for Katherine to wake up soon, to end everything and no longer have any entanglements with Giorgio.
Giorgio glanced at the woman's unfamiliar little face and naturally knew what she was thinking. He had breakfast in silence, not saying a word. She had no intention of staying by his side, and he didn't need her either. He wouldn't force her.
Charlie sensed that something was off between the two of them, his little heart filled with complexity. Why couldn't they be together when Daddy treated Anna differently and was such a charming man loved by girls? Was it because of Mr. Dalio?
If Simon didn't want to date Anna, and Anna was left all alone, she would definitely choose Daddy. Charlie schemed secretly without the two of them noticing.
While shopping, Mirlinda received a text message from an unknown person; “Miss Greco, did you really give up on Simon? You won’t know if you can succeed if you don’t give your best. Let me tell you a secret, you are the only woman for Simon so far.”
This surprised Mirlinda. Ever since Simon heartlessly left her and returned to Vista Heights, she had given up on him and didn't plan on pursuing him anymore. But now, with this text message, hope ignited in her heart again.
The only woman? A man like this was rare in the world.
"Mirlinda, what are you looking at? Come check out this dress," her best friend called her.
Mirlinda looked at the beautiful dress, but her mind was elsewhere. She couldn't forget those nights entangled with Simon. She couldn't forget the refreshing scent that radiated from his body, like sunlight on a grassy ground. And she definitely couldn't forget his gentle, watery eyes.
A man like him, only belonged to her alone, how could she let another woman take his place? She swore to herself that she would give it another try.
She turned around and ran away, leaving her best friend bewildered. "Hey! Mirlinda, Mirlinda, where are you going?"
But she didn't look back, and headed directly for the airport, took a plane and headed to Vista Heights.
Meanwhile, Simon was in his office dealing with important documents. Giovanni rushed in anxiously, "Mr. Dalio, something's not right. There's a woman downstairs named Mirlinda causing a scene. She said she won't leave until she sees you."
Simon was not like other CEOs who would let women's issues disrupt the company, but Mirlinda had come all the way from Crownhaven? He furrowed his brows slightly and said, "Let her come up."
"Alright." Giovanni retreated.
Soon, Mirlinda reached his office, still trendy and fashionable in her high heels, tight skirt, and sexy appearance, she exuded confidence and beauty. Simon glanced at her two attention-grabbing long legs, a hint of surprise flickering in his warm eyes, before averting his gaze.
"Miss Greco, why are you here at Vista Heights? Didn't I make myself clear enough back then?" he questioned.
Mirlinda looked at him with the same warmth, yet mercilessness. Her red lips pursed as she said, "I'm pregnant."
Giovanni looked at the two of them in disbelief.
What's going on? Isn't the CEO's girlfriend Miss Stefanelli? How can Mirlinda be pregnant? And the CEO isn't that kind of person either.
"Miss, this is not the place for you to lie. Please stop accusing our CEO," Giovanni thought Mirlinda was playing a prank and stepped forward to clear the scene.
Mirlinda glanced at him with a piercing gaze and approached Simon directly, her beautiful eyes fixed on him.
"Do you also think I'm lying? Mr. Dalio, are you brave enough to do it but not enough to admit it? Abandoning your own child?" Her voice was sharp, laced with coldness.
Two hours ago, on the plane, she suddenly vomited. The doctor examined her and revealed that she was pregnant. She was excited, thrilled, and more convinced of her suspicions. She wanted to win over Simon and give her child a complete family.
Expecting him to be at least somewhat happy, she beamed with joy, knowing it was his flesh and blood. But instead, his face displayed only surprise, without joy, causing her deep pain.
"Mr. Dalio, are you really going to abandon both me and your own flesh and blood?" She asked the question again, even colder than before.
Simon suddenly snapped out of his daze, rubbed his forehead, and told Giovanni, "You can leave first and prepare a cup of hot milk for Miss Greco."
“Did the CEO just give his approval?” Giovanni wondered.
Oh my god, the CEO has a son. This is huge news. Without daring to say anything further, he quickly retreated, even closing the office door on his way out. With that, the office atmosphere regained its calm.
Simon clasped his hands tightly for a full minute before standing up and saying, "Please take a seat and calm down. Let's talk."
Mirlinda shook her head, approaching him and grabbing his hand. "How can you expect me to calm down when I'm carrying your child? Your expression makes me feel like both me and the baby have been sentenced for doom, Simon. Why are you so heartless? This is your child," she pleaded. It was her first pregnancy, making it inevitable for her emotions to be in turmoil.
But Simon had faced this situation before, so he said, "So, who made the impulsive decision in the first place?"
Mirlinda froze. Impulsive decision? Yes, she was impulsive, but hadn’t he enjoy it too?
"Now you blame me and refuse to acknowledge this child? Fine, Mr. Dalio, you truly surprise me with your ruthlessness," Mirlinda pushed him away, threw her handbag at his face, and stormed off.
She was in control.
She had used him, slept with him, and now, when she was pregnant, he didn't want the child. It was a painful realization, but she wouldn't degrade herself any further.
Simon froze in place, a clear bloodstain appearing on his face from the zipper on her handbag. Giovanni came in carrying milk and happened to see Mirlinda storming off and his boss nursing his injury. "Sir, what happened? Why did she leave?"
Simon had a headache, unsure of how to handle the situation. He thought his affair with Mirlinda was in the past, but now she suddenly reappeared with a child, and he had to make a choice.
If he chose to keep the child, he would have to take responsibility for Mirlinda. But how could he abandon the child, his own flesh and blood, a precious life? And how would he explain this to Anna?
She was the first woman in thirty years to touch his heart and command his attention. Should he give up love and live with regret? The thought of giving up Anna pained Simon deeply. He sat at his desk the entire day.
As seven o'clock neared, Vista Heights was foggy and the sky was dark. Giovanni suddenly burst into the office, anxiously saying, "Sir, something's wrong, something's wrong." Simon looked up. "What happened?"
