Chapter 324 Four Days and Four Nights

It was chilly and solemn.

It was a firm question.

Katherine's heart skipped a beat, "No... I saw Anna's news pop up earlier, and I looked at it, but it had a password, and I didn't open it."

Giorgio's face turned cold, "Don't touch my phone unless necessary in the future."

"Okay."

Giorgio walked away coldly. After going downstairs, he casually unlocked his phone and opened the news.

The first headline was "#Anna Goes Abroad". He squinted his eyes slightly when he clicked into it.

Gone abroad? She was with Giuseppe last night, and she's going abroad today. She sure is adventurous.

"Daddy, I know why Anna went abroad," Charlie's small voice sounded at the dining table.

Giorgio didn't respond, clearly not wanting to know.

Charlie, however, answered his question, "Anna said she was going to see the most important person, which should be the person she referred to as the moonlight in my heart, similar to Penny. Look, Anna even messaged me."

The child's phone was handed to him.

Even though Giorgio didn't want to look, he glanced at the contents, and his face immediately darkened.

Impossible for him to be with her? Did he ever say that it was possible?

Matchmaking? Was it her place to meddle in his affairs?

He coldly said, "Get out of the way."

Anna spent another day and night in prison.

On the third morning, the iron door opened.

A well-dressed big shot, accompanied by several serious sharpshooters, arrived at the door.

"Anna, due to your sister's special arrangement and care, the other party's parents have agreed to withdraw their charges. Your sentence has also been passed, ten years, with a possibility of parole. It will be executed today.

And, because of your special identity, we promise your sister to keep your personal information confidential.

Now, we will formally transport you to DS Prison."

The voice was strong and powerful, reverberating on the cold walls.

Anna's petite body trembled.

Going from life imprisonment to a ten-year sentence while still preserving her secret should have made her happy.

But... why did she feel like she had been sentenced to death and couldn't even smile?

She stood frozen in place, unable to react.

The staff members approached and, treating her like a puppet, placed cold handcuffs on her and escorted her out of the detention center onto a particular vehicle heading toward DS Prison.

Along the way, the scenery was beautiful, the streets bustling.

Just before, Anna was eating hot pot and strolling through the streets with Sara and Penny. In the blink of an eye, she was sitting in a police car, becoming a murderer, losing all her freedom.

Why, why had it come to this?

It was clearly someone else's fault. She was just a victim who accidentally injured someone. How did she become the killer and pay such a high price?

Anna was not someone who cried easily, but at this moment, feeling helpless, weak, scared, and hopeless, the tears couldn't be held back and flowed once again.

Four years ago, the night she met Giorgio, she thought it was the worst moment of her life.

Little did she know, there would be worse moments.

Could it be that what the fortune teller said was true, that she was born to bring disaster?

Perhaps her look of desperation was just too sad to bear.

The accompanying officers couldn't help but console her, "Miss Stefanelli, you don't have to be too pessimistic. It's not as bad inside as you think. If you behave well, there will be a chance for parole."

"Parole?" Sparks lit up in Anna's eyes.

The officer said, "Yes, almost everyone tries to get parole once they're in, and most people are released early."

"Really? So if I behave really well, can I get out in ten days or two weeks?" Anna was excited and hopeful.

The officer awkwardly said, "Um, about that..." not knowing how to comfort her.

Anna's flicker of hope came crashing down again. She had hoped for too much. How could a ten-year sentence turn into ten days or two weeks?

She raised her hand, wanting to wipe the tears from her eyes. However, the sound of cold iron chains colliding made her wrist ache. She lowered her eyes and realized that she was a murderer, wearing handcuffs.

She didn't even have the privilege to wipe away her tears! No freedom!

"Wu wu..." Her nose twitched, making her curl her legs and hide her head, crying from the pain.

The police officer was left speechless.

Having seen so many criminals, Anna was the first one that made him feel sorry for her.

But she had provoked Ben, and no one could help her unless that person intervened...

But how could that person intervene for her?

In the following days, Anna experienced true despair, loneliness, and longing in prison.

Just like in her dreams, there were tall walls all around, with only one window that was too high to see the outside scenery.

Inside, there were three iron beds, extremely rudimentary, and the people living there were even more sloppy and careless.

Even worse, she was locked inside a small room every day, with no phone, no entertainment, and no way to see the time. Aimless, she counted every second, and each day felt like a year.

In her mind, Penny's smiling face kept resurfacing, and the yearning flooded in, causing a devastating flood.

They say waiting is the most painful, and waiting for ten years in such an environment... was undoubtedly painful.

For several days straight, Anna didn't eat or drink, sitting silently on her iron bed. Other than sleeping, she stared at the window in a daze.

Her cellmate couldn't help but comfort her, "Miss, cheer up. Life is full of ups and downs, and if you can't accept it, you can't change the reality."

"It's even more useless to regret. It will only add to the sadness."

"You should eat something. It's not worth it to die."

Anna seemed not to hear anything, still staring at the window, constantly thinking.

How could she endure ten years?

"Ah, this girl is really silly." The prison guard sighed and walked out.

Surprisingly, everyone became more serious and law-abiding compared to the past.

"What's going on? Did someone from higher up come to inspect?"

"No, every year on this day, Mr. Vittorio comes here to visit his Uncle Joe."

Mr. Vittorio.

To be able to see Mr. Vittorio while being in this place!

The prison guard quickly stood up straight, respectfully welcoming him.

In his free time, he couldn't help but be curious, "The newcomer seems to be a relative of Mr. Vittorio. I wonder if he will go see her."

"I'm worried about her since she hasn't eaten or drunk anything for four days."

"What's this? A soft spot for her? Why don't you worry about other prisoners?"

"Shut up, Mr. Vittorio is here."

A serious voice echoed, and everyone immediately closed their mouths, standing straight.

At the far end, a dignified and cold figure entered gracefully, with every step exuding a stable and domineering aura as if it had been meticulously forged. His body emanated a natural royal disposition.

A single glance made people want to submit.

Everyone held their breaths, restraining even their breathing.

Giorgio glanced at them and parted his noble lips, "You can carry on. No need to serve me."

"Yes," everyone dispersed.

The leader politely asked, "Mr. Vittorio, do you need any other arrangements today?"
Other arrangements?

Was there anything else he needed here?

Giorgio replied lightly, "I don't know what other arrangements there could be in prison. Care to share?"
