Chapter 442 Valentine's Day Gift from Mr. Vittorio
Anna suddenly realized falling for a married man was tough.
How did it come to this?
"Don't worry, it's still early. There's a surprise waiting for you," Lucia reassured her.
Anna didn't care about gifts anymore.
Thinking of Katherine always messed with her head.
She was jealous but also felt guilty. Like a steak on a hot griddle, she felt the heat from both sides.
She headed to the filming base, feeling down.
Lucia worried her mood would mess up the shoot.
At the base, Lucia asked if they should take the day off.
"Anna, look over there."
Anna looked up. The old courtyard was filled with flowers, more than a flower shop!
A white kitten with a bell and a card ran over.
"What a cute cat. Mr. Shawn must've set this up. Open the card," Anna picked up the kitten, a premium Silver Shaded British Shorthair with stunning blue eyes.
Lucia squatted down.
"You open it for me."
"Alright."
Anna unrolled the card and her eyes widened.
The card read: [Anna, I'm sorry I can't be with you for our first Valentine's Day. This cat will keep you company. Her name is Annie.]
It wasn't from Mr. Shawn. It was from Giorgio! And the cat's name, Annie? Love you?
Anna was deeply touched; she never expected such a grand surprise.
It was the first time she got such a precious gift, making her emotional.
"Mr. Vittorio is so romantic. The cat is unique, and the name is lovely," Lucia praised, holding the kitten.
"Annie, do you like your name?"
Anna blushed, feeling embarrassed.
"Sorry, I didn't know it was from Mr. Vittorio."
It was awkward.
Lucia smiled.
"It's okay. I knew because someone delivered it at midnight."
Thinking of that, she still felt a headache. Mr. Vittorio was indeed too romantic.
Anna felt relieved.
"So you made me open it on purpose? You’re bad, Lucia."
"That's how surprises work," Lucia said. "You should thank Mr. Vittorio and maybe give him a gift too, to deepen your love."
This time, Anna didn’t act shy.
He had given her such a grand gift, showing he truly cared.
She sat under a tree with Annie and messaged Giorgio: [Received the gift, thank you.]
Anna: [Annie is adorable, I really like her.]
Anna: [Transfer: $80]
Giorgio, lying in bed after a shower, saw Anna's messages.
Especially the $80 transfer, which surprised him.
It was the first time a woman had given him money.
He accepted the transfer, smiled, and replied: [Glad you like it.]
Giorgio: [I’m speeding up my work, and I’ll try to return early, including dealing with Katherine.]
Anna missed him too but wouldn't admit it, let alone say it out loud.
But this time, she didn't refuse: [Okay, I'll wait for you.]
[Waiting for you.] Giorgio stared at those words, his gaze softening.
After a moment, he exited their chat and messaged Katherine: [I'll finish what you asked before I return.]
Even though they were in the same room, he only messaged her.
Lying in bed, Katherine's eyes darkened.
The more he acted like this, the more determined she was to hold on!
She had to test it, and this time, she would get pregnant with his child! Completely tie him down!
She replied: [I'll decide the medication, no objections?]
Giorgio: [No objections. The reason for the divorce will be as I said.]
Katherine clenched her fist.
It hadn't even started, and he was so sure he would win.
No matter how composed he was, wasn't it still because he was set up four years ago?
Katherine: [Alright.]
After replying, Katherine immediately contacted a businessman she knew.
"Get me the strongest drug, preferably one that causes hallucinations and confusion."
She and Anna already looked alike.
By then, with him drugged and her altering her appearance a bit, he wouldn't be able to resist.
"Also, expedite the delivery."
For the next two days, Anna was in a surprisingly good mood. Especially with Annie following her around, meowing, making her heart melt.
She loved cats and had wanted to buy one for a long time, but she was too busy taking care of Penny.
Now, with Annie in her life, she felt warm and happy.
"Mommy, did something good happen recently? You’re smiling so much," Penny asked during dinner.
Anna touched her cheek.
"Really? I've always been like this, very optimistic."
"You used to be moody and heavy-hearted."
Penny rolled her eyes.
"Never mind, I’m going to play with Annie."
She quickly put down her fork and knife and went to find the kitten.
Her smartwatch received a message.
It was from Charlie: [Penny, has your mommy been acting differently lately?]
Of course! Penny quickly replied with a voice message, "Yeah, Mommy’s been very happy every day, full of energy, and often smiling at her phone. What’s up? Do you know something, Charlie?"
Charlie thought for a moment and said, "My daddy was like that too, didn’t know why before, now I do! They must be dating!"
"Dating? Like the male and female leads in Korean dramas?"
"Yeah."
"That’s great! Mommy can be with Uncle Giorgio, and I can be with you, Charlie. I’m so happy."
Charlie said mysteriously, "We have to keep this a secret, or jealous people might try to break them up."
"Okay, I won’t tell anyone, I promise!" Penny said, earnestly covering her mouth.
But she wasn’t exactly the brightest.
Charlie emphasized the seriousness.
"If you accidentally let it slip, Auntie Anna and Daddy will never be together, understand?"
"That’s so scary."
Penny was genuinely frightened.
Charlie knew she would take it seriously, so he felt reassured.
What he didn’t know was that Katherine had already overheard their conversation from outside the door.
She had come to bring Charlie some milk, never expecting to hear that Anna and Giorgio were dating!
They were already dating!
No wonder Giorgio was so determined to divorce her!
Damn Anna, she wouldn’t let her have it easy.
Katherine looked at the milk in her cup, dark thoughts brewing in her mind.
