Chapter 496 Did Anna Escape?

The next second, Anna snapped out of it and wanted to bounce.

Giorgio, when their eyes locked earlier, totally noticed her eyes were all red, like she'd been crying. "Go take a shower," he said, all cool and collected.

Anna stopped, spun around, and stared at him, totally shocked. Was he planning to cash in on that deal tonight? But she just saw Penny and was in no mood for any of that.

"Mr. Vittorio, I'm sorry, I'm in a terrible mood right now and can't bring myself to please you. I'll go to another room," she said, then walked off.

Giorgio's presence just froze there. He just wanted her to change out of those dirty clothes, what was she thinking?

Afterwards, he'd been so swamped with work, he didn't even notice her much and didn't take her phone away. After all, letting her keep it was the only way to know what she was up to.

Giorgio worked in the study all night, took a break the next morning, and then got back to it. Weirdly enough, he'd been feeling all over the place lately, but with Anna around, even though things were different between them, he felt oddly calm and chill.

By evening, Giorgio wrapped up a video call, shut his laptop, and headed out.

The villa was dead quiet, not a peep. He wondered if she was asleep.

"Anna?" Giorgio called out at her door, but got nothing back. He raised his hand to push the door open, finding it just as quiet inside, no sound, no light. He frowned and was about to turn around when a weird smell hit him, and he blacked out.

"Anna, it's okay, we can go now."

The next second, Giuseppe popped out of the shadows, used a copied fingerprint to unlock Giorgio's password, and led Anna away.

Turned out, he had already figured out Anna was at Crownhaven, locked up by Giorgio, and had followed Tony into the estate that morning. But to get out, they needed a special password or fingerprint, so he had to wait for the right moment.

Anna was super scared and said, "Giuseppe, I don't have to leave. You should go by yourself." She was really worried Giorgio would wake up, find out, and go ballistic.

But Giuseppe didn't let her go.

"Anna, I know you're digging into the car accident and Katherine. If you're stuck here with Giorgio, you won't have a shot. Don't worry, once we're out, I'll wipe all the surveillance so he won't know or track you down, letting you investigate in peace," he said.

Then he added, "Otherwise, the longer you wait, the faster Katherine will cover her tracks. Trust me, there'll be a chance to investigate tomorrow."

His words made sense, so Anna was convinced. She was desperate to find out the truth, get justice for Elodie, and be with Penny again. Staying here with Giorgio's mood swings, she knew he definitely wouldn't keep his promise.

Finally, she followed Giuseppe out of the room. Giuseppe first hit the computer room to destroy all the surveillance, then used the copied fingerprint to get Anna out of the estate.

Everything was done quietly, quickly, and smoothly.

After who knew how long, Giorgio felt a chill, opened his eyes, and saw the bright sunlight and fluttering curtains. He rubbed his aching head, got up, and saw he was in Anna's room, his eyes darkening!

What did Anna do to him?

He stormed out of the room, finding the villa totally empty. Had Anna escaped?

Before he could even process it, his phone buzzed. Giorgio picked up and barked, "Pull up the villa's surveillance and find Anna!"

'Anna is missing?' Tony, who had just found his call connected, was baffled by the outrage but didn't dare ask questions. "Okay, I'll check right away. Mr. Vittorio, I'm calling to report on the previous deal with Mr. Aria. You haven't been reachable for three days, and Mr. Aria is getting anxious."

Hearing that, Giorgio glanced at his phone, and when he saw the time, his eyes widened in shock.

Damn it! She had drugged him that bad.

He snapped at Tony, "Put the deal on hold. Bring Anna to me within three hours!"

His voice was icy, dangerous, leaving no room for argument. Tony was stunned. 'Mr. Vittorio is pissed! What did Ms. Stefanelli do?' he wondered.

Tony went to investigate, stressed out.

An hour passed with nothing.

Two hours, still no news.

Two and a half hours, still not a single trace was found.

It was like she vanished into thin air.

Tony was freaking out, not daring to let Giorgio wait the full three hours without any updates, so he reported early, "Mr. Vittorio, I'm really sorry, I couldn't find any clues about Ms. Stefanelli leaving, and the villa's surveillance was expertly wiped. I found nothing."

"Useless." Giorgio, who never swore his assistant, exploded in rage, barely keeping himself from smashing something. His voice was cold and chilling as he demanded, "You can't even find one person. Is this the best you can do?"

Tony apologized, "It's my fault. But Mr. Vittorio, for Ms. Stefanelli to leave here alone and do it so flawlessly, I think it's unlikely. Someone must be helping her."

Hearing that, Giorgio frowned, his long fingers tapping the table. After a moment, he ordered, "Check on Simon and Giuseppe's recent activities."

The only ones who could pull this off and help Anna were those two.

Tony suddenly got it. "Mr. Dalio is in Vista Heights, and this isn't his style, so it must be Mr. Giuseppe Vittorio. I'll check right away."

With that, Tony quickly ran off. This time, Tony didn't focus on Anna but dug deep into Giuseppe's whereabouts. By evening, he finally had something.

"Mr. Giorgio Vittorio, I found it! Mr. Giuseppe Vittorio has been at the Greenwood project site recently, with little other activity and no suspicious behavior."

Then he added, "He even goes to a private room in a bar every night. At first, I thought it was just for leisure, but then I noticed that the room doesn't accept any other guests, and no one comes out, which raised my suspicion. I personally disguised as a waiter and knocked on the door, only to find that Ms. Stefanelli was inside, disguised!"

Hearing this, Giorgio's eyebrows furrowed, and a wave of anger surged through him. She drugged him for three days just to go to Giuseppe and hide out in some bar.

He coldly ordered, "Bring her back!"

The next second, he changed his mind, "No, I'll go myself!"

Giorgio stood up with a noble and imposing presence, leaving with a cold and domineering aura. With every step he took, a powerful and destructive energy radiated from him, even the wind he stirred up was terrifying.

Tony shivered. 'It's over. Ms. Stefanelli is done for,' he thought.
