Chapter 521 Why Do You Cry When You See Me?
The next second, the screen showed countless inspectors, police officers, and doctors swarming Dr. Johnson's house in a hurry.
Inside was a secret laboratory filled with various herbs, organs, instruments, and blood, looking particularly terrifying!
The reporter said, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is Dr. Johnson's research lab for cell regeneration. According to his family, they had no idea and were even tricked by him into donating blood multiple times under the guise of charity. It seems Johnson didn't even spare his own family."
"Breaking news! Dr. Johnson has confessed and committed suicide by hitting his head against the wall in prison!"
Suicide!
Everyone was shocked but felt no sympathy.
[He deserved it, an eye for an eye!]
[Poor Katherine and her millions of dollars!]
[Thank goodness this came to light; otherwise, what would happen if he became the next director of Imperial Glory Hospital?]
'[Katherine is really pitiful, losing both money and reputation.]
Anna didn't know how she walked out of the hospital, only that she was walking in the quiet greenbelt, her mind in a chaotic and dark state.
This matter had exceeded her expectations.
She had never expected Katherine could act first and clear her name.
Sara cursed madly beside her, "Katherine is simply hateful! I think she planned all of this from the start! Absolutely!"
"Of course, I don't believe she didn't do all this." Anna gritted her teeth and said, "But to get the director of Imperial Glory Hospital involved, and to mobilize inspectors, reporters, and other big shots, she must have spent a lot of time and effort. And now that Dr. Johnson is dead, it's even harder to overturn the case."
Sara, hearing this, went from angry to anxious as she asked, "What should we do then? Let that bitch get away with it?"
Anna didn't know either. She was confused and angry because of this.
"Sara, it looks like I have to go back to Crownhaven."
That night, Anna handled things there and headed straight to Crownhaven early the next morning.
After arranging for Penny to be admitted to the hospital where Tom worked, she went straight to the Stefanelli family Estate.
"Miss Stefanelli?" The servant was startled by Anna's sudden appearance.
Davide, Carla, and Katherine, who were having lunch at the dining table, were also slightly stunned.
"Why are you back without telling us ahead?"
Anna shot them a cold glance, saying, "Don't worry, I'm not eating with you."
Then, her gaze fell on Katherine, and she said directly, "Katherine, I thought you had some conscience and could correct your mistakes, but now I see you're simply insane. Since that's the case, I won't hold back anymore. I'll give my all to deal with you. See you in court!"
After saying that, she turned to leave.
"Stop right there!" Franklin shouted sternly, "Katherine has just come out of a difficult situation, and you want to cause more trouble? I'm telling you, if you dare do anything harmful to the Stefanelli family, I won't let you off!"
Thinking about what had they done to her in the past, Anna thought the Stefanelli family had never let her off.
Anna sneered and walked away.
"This ungrateful daughter!" Franklin's face turned livid with anger.
"Dad, calm down. I'll go talk to Anna," Katherine comforted softly, looking obedient.
However, once she stepped out of the house, her expression changed immediately. It became extremely grim and emotionless.
She yelled, "Anna! Stop right there!"
Anna paused and turned to look at Katherine. "What, are murderers now so righteous and loud?"
Katherine was taken aback, retorting, "Who are you calling a murderer? I'm telling you, I didn't kill your grandmother. Now that the evidence is clear, don't falsely accuse me."
Anna sneered, "You think I'll believe that? Katherine, your tricks and deceptions might fool others, but not me. For example, your affair with Giuseppe are not as romantic as you said so." Her tone was deliberately heavy, threatening, and deep.
Hearing that, Katherine's face turned pale, and she gritted her teeth, threatening, "Don't act all innocent in front of me while benefiting the most. After I announced the divorce, who benefited the most if not you? Don't think I don't know you want to become Mrs. Vittorio and be with Giorgio. So, Anna, I said I didn't kill your grandmother, and I didn't. Don't mess with me, or I'll expose everything about you and Giorgio! We'll both go down together!"
After saying that, she turned and left.
Anna stood there coldly, her face growing paler.
Was Katherine really that confident? If she were, she wouldn't use her and Giorgio's affair to threaten her.
Unfortunately, she had no evidence.
After leaving the Stefanelli family Estate, Anna wandered aimlessly on the street.
After an unknown amount of time, a car horn sounded.
She turned her head and saw a luxurious Maybach and the distinguished, handsome Giorgio inside.
After not seeing him for a few days, he looked even more captivating and stunning.
"Giorgio? What are you doing here?"
Giorgio's eyes were deep. He had heard from Tom that Anna had come to Crownhaven and was surprised she came on the first day.
However, she didn't contact him but went to the Stefanelli family instead, which showed she didn't come to Crownhaven for him.
But at this moment, seeing Anna's red eyes and pale face, Giorgio's heart seemed to be tugged. He got out of the car and personally opened the door for her. "Get in the car first."
Anna responded faintly and got in the car, feeling her nose tingled.
No matter the news she saw yesterday or the confrontation with Katherine today, she didn't cry.
Nor did she feel wronged when Franklin scolded her.
But seeing him, all her grievances surged up.
As soon as Giorgio got in the car, he saw Anna with her head down, looking pitifully aggrieved.
He frowned, took a tissue, and wiped her tears, softly saying, "Why are you crying as soon as we meet? I'm not dead or disabled."
She choked up, wiping her tears, and took a deep breath, saying, "Sorry, I didn't mean to cry. I just couldn't hold it in when I saw you."
Giorgio teased gently, "So, should I say I have the ability to make you cry?"
"Tell me, why are you crying? Is it because of Katherine?" Giorgio asked elegantly, as if it were a trivial matter.
Anna felt a bit upset. "Yes. She created so much evidence and exposed it in advance, just to preemptively strike and leave me with no options. Now, I haven't found any new evidence, and what I had has lost its value. I feel very upset and confused, which you can't understand."
After all, it wasn't his grandmother. To him, it was just a dead person.
Giorgio sensed the accusation in her words and raised an eyebrow, saying, "It's about Katherine. Why are you targeting me? Do you think I don't care about you?"
Anna choked.
Sure enough, he guessed it.
Giorgio's eyes deepened as he said, "You're still inexperienced, a simple-minded girl. If you call me something nice, I'll give you some information."
