Chapter 363 What Feelings for Giorgio?

Anna remembered that they hadn't been trending on social media these past two days, nor had they done anything wrong. Why did Viviana suddenly want them to come back?

Giuseppe said, "I don't know either. Let's go back and see."

"Alright." Although Anna disliked Viviana, she was ill, and there was no need to argue with a bedridden old woman.

Half an hour later, Anna and Giuseppe reached the Vittorio family's old mansion, only to find a gathering of unexpected faces—Matteo, the Colombo couple, Giorgio, and Katherine—all present.

The atmosphere was tense, exuding a sense of seriousness and formality.

Instinctively, Anna positioned herself behind Giuseppe, hoping to diminish her presence in the room.

However, her attempt did not go unnoticed by Giorgio, whose eyes flashed with a cold smile.

Reflecting on her recent actions—her heated argument with Giuseppe followed by her search for him—Anna realized the significance of her presence at this family meeting.

It was evident: she truly cared about Giuseppe.

Katherine, on the other hand, didn't look much better. But in just a second, she hid her emotions, appearing gentle, beautiful, and graceful.

"You are all here. I called you all to talk about something," Viviana, sitting in a wheelchair, spoke. Although she didn't look as good as before, she was much better.

She said, "I've arranged a three-day trip to Silvershore Valley. In ten days, put aside your work and accompany me on this trip. Consider it a family reunion; otherwise, there might not be another chance."

She was old and longed for the company of her descendants.

Upon hearing this, they naturally had no objections. After all, with Viviana's health issues, they had to perform well to vie for the inheritance.

Henna smiled and said, "All right, I'll start arranging and preparing everyone's necessities."

Katherine also showed her filial piety. "Grandma, don't say that. You still need to see Giorgio and me have a second child and watch them grow up. Don't worry, although my movies and projects are in the planning stages, I can quickly resolve them and definitely accompany you on this trip."

Her words were full of flattery, showing that she was busy but willing to make time for Viviana.

Viviana smiled warmly and responded, "You always know how to make me happy. I hope you keep your promise about having a second child."

"I won't let you down." Katherine smiled brightly.

The better she performed, the more Anna seemed dull in comparison. They were twins, one obedient and filial, the other showing no such qualities.

Henna glared at Anna with displeasure. Since she wanted to be Giuseppe's girlfriend, shouldn't she be more sensible? Learn from Katherine?

At this moment, Anna didn't notice. She looked at the blissful Katherine and the silent, noble Giorgio with a complex expression.

How could he be planning a second child with Katherine while doing those things and saying those words to her?

Scumbag.

"Anna, you should come too," Giuseppe's voice sounded.

Anna snapped back to reality and promptly responded, "I shouldn't go. I recently..."

Henna stepped forward and interrupted her, implying, "Even though you and Giuseppe haven't been together for long and don't have much of a relationship with Grandma Viviana, it's not quite appropriate for you to attend our family gathering. However, Grandma doesn't mind, especially after you've saved her twice. So, it's all right for you to come with us. Just be on your best behavior and go get ready with Giuseppe."

Her simple words revealed that Anna had saved Viviana twice and provided a suitable reason for Anna to join the trip.

Viviana's wrinkled face showed surprise. Anna had saved her twice? Was it Anna who saved her in the bathroom and on the bed?

Anna didn't want to take credit or go, but faced with Henna's hint, she couldn't refute it.

Giuseppe's broad hand held hers, leading her away.

Their backs looked well-matched.

Giorgio's gaze fixed on their clasped hands, his eyes growing darker.

At the Maple Valley Estates, Anna looked at the refined Giuseppe and said, "Giuseppe, between work with Lucia and the critical ten-day period for that house, along with looking after Penny, my plate's full. I just can't make it. Could you come up with an excuse for me?"

"I understand your point. But Viviana perceives this trip as crucial, almost like it's her last family reunion. I can't decline," Giuseppe stated firmly. "Plus, it's only for a few days. You could see it as a break and bring Penny along."

No way! Penny appearing in front of the Vittorio family was already a mistake. How could she expose her even more?

Anna felt helpless and pleaded, "Can't you help me refuse?"

Though Giuseppe might have had a solution, but he avoided entertaining the thought. He cherished spending time with Anna, and with Viviana present, he saw it as a chance to strengthen their bond. "Sorry."

Disappointment clouded Anna's expression. "All right, we'll see then."

She returned to her room, finding that the pain in her hand had subsided somewhat. After showering and changing the dressing, she settled beside Penny, her heart heavy with guilt as she watched her daughter sleep.

A wave of apology washed over her as she reflected on her recent preoccupation with Giuseppe and work, realizing she hadn't devoted enough time to Penny. She felt inadequate as a mother.

Yet, she found solace in the fact that she wasn't facing a ten-year prison sentence. She still had ample time to make things right.

The next morning, Anna got up early and made Penny's favorite bow-tie pasta and fried meatballs.

"Wow, Mommy, we have meatballs! I'm so happy and lucky." Penny ate the meatballs with pure joy.

After a bite, she said, "It's so delicious! Mommy's cooking is the best in the world. I wish Charlie could taste it too."

Giuseppe sat at the table and said, "His mom stayed over last night. She'll make him something delicious this morning too."

"All right." Penny pouted and said, "But her cooking won't be as good as my mommy's."

"Yes, your mommy is the best," Giuseppe praised softly, stealing a glance at Anna.

Though she maintained a neutral expression while quietly eating breakfast, he couldn't overlook the fleeting emotion in her eyes.

What did she truly think about Giorgio? Whatever it was, he resolved not to allow her and Giorgio to grow closer.

"I'll accompany you to drop off the child and then take you to the studio," Giuseppe said, serving her a bowl of soup.

Anna felt their roles had completely reversed. Wasn't she supposed to take care of him?

She said, "All right, but I need to go to the hospital for a hand check-up and dressing change today, not the studio." She hoped her hand would heal soon so she could do more for him.

Giuseppe nodded softly.

After breakfast, Anna held Penny's hand, following Giuseppe out of Maple Valley Estates.

In the garage, they unexpectedly ran into Giorgio and Katherine, who were also sending Charlie to school.

"Charlie," Penny exclaimed as she ran over immediately.

Anna wanted to leave quietly, but it was too late.

Giorgio heard Penny's voice, turned, and his deep, dark gaze fell on her.
