Chapter 329 What's on Mr. Vittorio's Mind?
This was a video that had been edited, enlarged, and enhanced. In the video, a red arrow pointed at Giorgio as he walked toward her, looking anxious. Then, he even stopped the bodyguards from pulling her away.
He actually helped her instead of just watching coldly?
"How about that? Aren't you surprised? Mr. Vittorio may say he can never like you in this lifetime, but he does treat you well. I think he's just a reserved guy who just like you."
Anna was indeed surprised, but liking him? That's impossible.
She remembered the conversation she had overheard at the prison today and felt a chill in her heart. "Forget it, the reason he did that was definitely to prevent the situation from escalating and to avoid giving bad influence to Charlie or tarnishing the Vittorio family's reputation. Don't mention him to me anymore, and don't try to help me with him either. I have a boyfriend now."
"A boyfriend? Who?" Sara refused to believe it. If Anna had not been involved in such a situation and had been sent to prison, how could she have had the time to go dating?
Anna said, "Giuseppe. He rescued me, and the condition was for me to be his girlfriend for six months, to try dating each other. If we can like each other within six months, we'll get married. I think after this experience, I need to change my view of him and give it a try."
"Sara..."- Sara was speechless.
Great. Being Mr. Vittorio's cousin-in-law was not enough; now, she had to be Mr. Vittorio's niece-in-law.
One wonders. What's on Mr. Vittorio's mind?
That night, Anna slept exceptionally well.
She hadn't slept for several days in prison, and when she did, it was either nightmares or restless sleep. Tonight, however, she finally stopped dreaming and slept soundly until morning.
The next morning, she woke up early and cooked breakfast for Penny and Sara. Then she made a pot of nourishing soup, feeling beautiful and optimistic about the future.
After eating, she asked, "Sara, Penny, do you want to go see Mr. Dalio and Miss Greco with me today?"
"Sure, I want to see Mr. Dalio," Penny exclaimed, dancing with excitement.
Sara hesitated and said, "I... I actually have plans today."
"Oh? But you don't know anyone in Crownhaven, who do you have plans with?"
Sara reluctantly admitted, "Your brother."
Uh...
"You're really getting involved with him? He's not a good person at all," Anna sincerely worried about Sara getting hurt.
Fabio Stefanelli's noble voice unexpectedly responded, "And are you a good person?"
She turned her head and saw him walking in, his gaze falling on her.
"You break bones when you fight, disappear without a trace, and make headlines every few days. What's so good about you?"
Anna was at a loss for words, unable to come up with a retort.
Why did these two always argue whenever they saw each other?
Sara quickly intervened, saying, "Anna, aren't you supposed to go see Mr. Dalio? You should take Penny and go."
Anna couldn't be bothered to argue anymore. She didn't want to waste her precious time on someone she didn't like. She told Sara, "Be careful, protect yourself. If he dares to harm you, call me, and I promise to break his bones."
A twitch appeared at the corner of Fabio Stefanelli's mouth.
Ignoring him, Anna took Penny's hand, put on a mask, and left with the nourishing soup.
Earlier, she heard Simon Dalio Jr. say that Sara had a miscarriage, but she didn't know the details. After getting in a taxi, she borrowed the driver's phone and called Simon Dalio Jr., rushing to the hospital.
In the hospital room, Simon Dalio Jr. was feeding Mirlinda porridge. Mirlinda's face was pale, her lips dry. Without heavy makeup and her usual glamorous appearance, she looked more like an innocent girl.
Anna stood at the door, slightly stunned.
She hadn't thought too much when she came, but seeing this scene, she realized...
Should she not have disturbed them?
Penny Stefanelli didn't have many concerns. As soon as she saw Simon Dalio Jr., she happily let go of Anna's hand and ran over to him.
"Mr. Dalio, haven't seen you in a while. I really missed you."
Simon Dalio Jr. put down the bowl and hugged the little girl. "Is that so? I thought the little princess forgot about her uncle."
"No, they didn't miss Mr. Dalio, but they did miss the candy Mr. Dalio bought."
The sweet and innocent voice of the child filled the hospital room, causing a few people to smile.
Anna glanced at Mirlinda in the bed and saw that she wasn't bothered, so she walked in.
"Miss. Greco, I made some soup for you. Would you like some more?"
"Yes," Mirlinda nodded, then turned to Simon Dalio Jr. and said, "Take Penny to the supermarket and also take care of the hospital procedures."
"Okay," Simon Dalio Jr. lifted Penny and looked at Anna, silently asking for her help, before elegantly leaving the room.
The room quieted down.
Anna served Mirlinda the soup, saying, "This is fresh local chicken that I bought this morning. I know you don't like herbal medicine, so I didn't put any in. It's just a simple stew with some mushrooms added. It's really delicious. You should try it."
Mirlinda shook her head. "Thank you, but I don't need to drink this."
Thinking that Mirlinda might be feeling down, Anna put down the bowl and held her hand.
"Don't overthink it. Being alive, healthy, and free is the greatest happiness. You and your brother are still young, take good care of yourselves, and you'll be able to have another child soon."
Mirlinda's face grew darker the more she heard.
She looked at Anna and realized that every time Anna asked about her well-being, she meant it sincerely without any ulterior motives.
This made her unable to hold back her true feelings.
"I didn't have a miscarriage, and I wasn't pregnant."
What?
"No miscarriage? Not pregnant? What happened?"
"Lower your voice," Mirlinda covered her mouth and waited for silence before continuing, "I was feeling nauseous on the plane, and there was a fellow passenger who was a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. Based on his observations, he said I was pregnant, and I believed him.
But when I went for a check-up that day, the doctor said I wasn't pregnant and that it was just a delayed period.
The only reason I got married was because of the baby in my belly. I was so scared of losing the child that I didn't dare tell him the truth after the divorce, so I staged a fake miscarriage.
But... do you know? Even though he took care of me, he was always distant and not genuinely affectionate. I feel that without the child, he will still want to divorce me.
These past few days in the hospital, I've been worrying that he'll ask for a divorce and that he'll find out the truth. It's been really hard on my heart.
Anna, please help me convince him not to get me pregnant again but rather to have another child with me. I'm begging you."
The woman's voice sounded helpless, flustered, and fearful.
Pleading with her enemy, she felt utterly humble.
Anna was stunned.
The situation turned out to be so complicated.
However, facing a woman like her, Anna couldn't bring herself to feel angry.
"Okay, I'll help you this once. But promise me that you will always treat your brother well and not make things difficult for him."
"In addition, she is now officially dating Giuseppe and has no feelings for San Ge. She just hopes he can be truly happy."
"Yes, I will treat him well and make him fall in love with me."
"Thank you, thank you."
Their relationship suddenly grew closer.
Outside the hospital room.
A tall figure stood outside with a complex expression on his face.
