Chapter 421 Entanglement Will Not Happen Again

As soon as this thought appeared, a wave of panic surged within Anna.

Anna thought carefully, ‘Viviana only called the two of us, which was an implicit warning. Even if she doesn't know, she must be suspecting something.’

She clenched her palms and tried to respond calmly, "I don't want any shares. Getting recognition for that competition entry and seeing it come to life is the biggest reward for me. And Mr. Giuseppe Vittorio and I are not at the point of getting married. I'll make my own decisions. Also, that request, Viviana, you don't need to worry about it. I won't use it as an excuse, and maybe I'll never need it. I have something to do, so I'll leave now."

She turned and left.

Saying more would only make things worse.

Viviana watched her petite figure leave, her eyes deep and complex.

"Giorgio, let's put the design draft matter behind us. You don't need to worry about it anymore. The Corystania branch has a new joint project. You should go handle it." Her voice was kind but commanding.

Giorgio frowned. Going on a business trip to Corystania would take at least half a month, possibly up to two months.

"Grandma, I'd prefer to stay in my own country for the next six months."

Viviana looked at him. "Giorgio, don't worry about me. Giuseppe is in charge of the Greenwood Project now. You understeand the relationship there and should have some sense of urgency. Go, whether it's a month or half a month, I can manage."

She finished speaking and wheeled herself back into the room.

The message was clear: this matter was not up for discussion.

Giorgio's eyes were deep and complex.

He walked out of the room and went downstairs to leave.

"Mr.Giorgio Vittorio" A small, mysterious voice sounded.

Giorgio turned his head and saw Anna peeking out from behind a bush. She looked suspicious and slightly surprised as she walked over.

"Do you need something?" His attitude was so cold, like he was talking to a stranger.

In just one day, he had sorted out his emotions and moved on completely.

Anna felt a pang in her heart but tried not to show it. She said, "Viviana probably knows something. She suggested I marry Mr.Giuseppe Vittorio in front of you, likely as a reminder, a suspicion. You need to be careful."

"You're quite smart," Giorgio interrupted her.

He couldn't deny that she was perceptive and understood the situation better than the average girl.

He looked at her deeply and said, "Rest assured, we have no relationship. The previous entanglement will not happen again. If it's not necessary, please, Ms. Stefanelli, don't appear in front of me."

With that, he brushed past her, the wind he stirred up cold as ice.

Anna stood frozen in place.

She knew he was angry and understood that it was time for them to be completely done.

But when he was the one to walk away first, and so decisively, coldly, and resolutely, it felt like a sharp knife cutting through her heart, causing immense pain, as if even the blood flowing out was painful.

Maybe he never had deep feelings for her, which was why he could be so carefree.

Anna returned to her room, took some medicine, rested, and felt much better by 4:30 PM. She went out to pick up the kids.

A horn sounded outside the yard. The car window rolled down, revealing Katherine's face. "Get in."

Anna was surprised.

At the same time, she knew that whenever Katherine sought her out, she couldn't refuse.

She walked over and got in the car. "What's up?"

Katherine liked her straightforwardness, started the car, and only spoke slowly after driving away from the old house.

"Giorgio and I are going to the Corystania on a business trip tonight."

Anna was shocked.

‘Corystania was so far away, and the situation wasn't good right now. Giorgio was actually going there with Katherine. He must be deliberately avoiding me,’ she thought.

"Anna, you and Giorgio are completely over." Katherine's cold and arrogant voice reminded her.

Anna was slightly stunned. The words 'completely over' were heavy, but it was undeniably.

From Giorgio asking her to leave the top-floor room, to his cold attitude, to now going abroad with Katherine, it was clear: they would have no further connection.

She felt a pang of sorrow, but she also knew this was the best outcome.

‘Don't be so sad,’ she thought.

Anna took a deep breath, adjusted her emotions, and said, "You're wrong. Giorgio and I never started. How could there be an end? If there's nothing else, please pull over."

She was calm and cold, showing no emotion.

Katherine tightened her grip on the steering wheel.

She had been watching Giorgio and Anna these past few days, aware of what had happened between them, and wanted to find an opportunity to make them completely break up. Unexpectedly, they separated on their own without her intervention.

She thought Anna would be in pain, despair, like a failed loser. But she remained so stubborn and resilient.

Suddenly, she felt sympathy for Giorgio. "You never had feelings for Giorgio. His kindness to you was not worth it."

Worth it or not, Anna believed that love was voluntary, and there was no such thing as worth or not worth. But in her and Giorgio's case, it was indeed not worth it.

Her family background was not worth it.

Her abilities and education were not worth it.

Nothing about her was worth it.

She clenched her palms, her voice devoid of emotion. "You're worth it. Take good care of your husband."

Katherine was furious. "You!"

She couldn't even find words to curse.

Forget it, Anna and Giorgio were already completely over, she couldn't be bothered to argue anymore.

She glanced at the phone lying on the dashboard. It was recording.

Ten minutes later, the car stopped at the kindergarten.

"Mommy!"

"Auntie!"

Two little kids ran out, one hugging Anna's right leg, the other her left leg, completely becoming leg attachments, joyfully chirping.

"Mommy, Penny missed you so much. Please don't leave Penny again."

"Auntie, I missed you too."

A boy and a girl, adorable and high in appearance, they drew the envy of the people around.

Anna felt like she was wrapped in layers of cotton, very warm, and the uneasy and oppressive feelings in her heart dissipated.

"Good, Mommy will stay with you from now on."

"Charlie, come here." As soon as she finished speaking, Katherine's voice sounded from the car.

Charlie turned to look, saying, "Why is she here?"

But he still walked over politely and stood in front of the car without speaking.

Katherine looked at him, already used to his coldness, and asked, "Your dad and I are going on a business trip to Corystania. Do you want to come? If not, you can stay at home with the servants and Penny."

She clearly didn't want Charlie to go and disrupt their time together.

Charlie naturally didn't want to go.

But he was curious why his dad would leave Anna and go to Corystania with Katherine.

They must have had a fight.

Seeing the slight sadness on Anna's face, he thought for a moment and said, "Of course, I want to go. With my dad, there's always something to do."

Katherine's face clearly darkened. "Then get in the car."

"Okay, I'll say goodbye to Auntie Anna first." Charlie ran to Anna and hugged her.

Anna felt a pang of sadness.

Half an hour ago, Giorgio left.

Now Charlie was leaving too.

If their business trip lasted more than a month, she would have left The Vittorio family by then, and they might never see each other again.

"Auntie." Just as Anna was feeling sad, Charlie's soft, clear voice sounded in her ear.

"Don't worry. I will keep them from getting close. I will also help you find out things, so you and Dad can be together."
