Chapter 148 Some Juice Please
Without lingering any longer, Giorgio turned around and led Anna, striding into the company and entering the CEO's private elevator to go upstairs.
In a dark corner of the company lobby, someone watched the two figures disappear, narrowing his sharp eyes.
He remembered Katherine's usual arrogance and sharpness. Even if Giorgio told the bodyguards to stop her, she would find ten thousand excuses to curse at them and still enter the company.
Why was she so gentle today?
Inside the elevator, there were only Giorgio and Anna.
Throughout, his long and broad hand held onto hers.
The warmth from his hand wasn't hot or warm, but inexplicably, Anna felt an electric current passing through her skin and into her blood, making her uneasy.
When he had just said 'my wife,' he referred to Katherine. The order to enter and leave anywhere was also directed towards Katherine.
Even the hand he was holding now was that of Katherine's, and Anna was just a substitute.
She had no relation to him whatsoever.
Ding.
The elevator door opened.
Anna snapped out of her thoughts, quickly pulling her hand out of his large hand, and awkwardly searched for a topic to talk about.
"This company is so big. It must be great working in such an environment."
As soon as she finished speaking, a woman in a black suit and work uniform, with an amazing figure, approached them.
"Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio, would you like some coffee or juice?"
She was beautiful, dazzling, and an absolute knockout.
Giorgio naturally responded, "Juice."
Then, he calmly and indifferently walked into his office.
Anna was awestruck.
Her nose was about to bleed.
Was that woman Giorgio's secretary?
Her figure was so good, so attractive.
No wonder Giorgio didn't allow Katherine to come to the company! He must be worried about being caught having an affair with his secretary!
"Why are you standing there?" the cold inquiring voice rang out.
Anna snapped back to reality and looked at Giorgio, dressed in a smart suit at the office entrance, and with an "Oh" sound, she lowered her head and walked past him.
Originally, she wanted to apologize for her irrational behavior last night.
Apologizing for her behavior, she suddenly felt that he was a casual man, capable of acting impulsively towards any woman. Last night was his own misunderstanding, so why should she apologize?!
"The lunchbox is on the table. I have a few documents to handle. You can sit for a while," Giorgio instructed before sitting at his desk and getting busy with his work.
He carried an air of nobility, his countenance serious, his fair and handsome hands penning words. They say that men look handsome when they work, and this was undoubtedly true for him.
Moreover, behind him were floor-to-ceiling transparent windows, offering a breathtaking view of Crownhaven, elevating him above the masses, exuding a sense of nobility. It was only natural that a man like him attracted so many women.
"Knock knock." A gentle knock on the door sounded. The secretary walked in, holding a glass of juice, her short skirt particularly eye-catching. Tsk tsk tsk. So this was what Giorgio could enjoy in his office at any time. Did those newspapers and media outlets blind themselves with claims of his celibacy and coldness, not touching women?
"Madam, your juice," the secretary placed the juice on the table while speaking softly, almost seductively. Anna mustered a professional smile and replied, "Hmm. Thank you."
"You're welcome. If Madam needs anything, just call for me," she politely turned and left. As she walked out, she purposefully glanced at Giorgio. Anna noticed it and smiled faintly. This secretary definitely had no connection with Giorgio.
After sitting for a while, Anna felt uncomfortable and asked, "Is everything alright? Can I go back now?"
Giorgio, engrossed in his paperwork, didn't look up, only replying, "Today, stay in the office. We have your father's birthday banquet in the evening. We'll go together."
What? Stay in the office the entire day? Anna grabbed her hair in frustration. "I'll be so bored. Besides, I don't want to go to that birthday banquet."
If they didn't treat her as their own daughter, she also didn't need to respect them. Giorgio closed the file, raised his face, and his handsome and profound gaze met hers. "You have to go. Also, if you're bored, practice your confidence and aura in the rest area. You were too gentle with the security downstairs."
Here came another reproach, another accusatory tone. Anna just remained silent. It's normal to respect employees, and besides, the security guard was following his orders. Both Giorgio and Katherine's personalities were truly hard to compliment.
"Next time, I'll just slap them," she muttered sarcastically. Definitely sarcastic and mocking.
Surprisingly, Giorgio agreed with a knowing look, "When you don't know how to handle a situation, a slap is indeed better than your weakness." Anna just remained silent.
"Oh, by the way," Giorgio seemed to recall something, his gaze deepening with meaning.
"Regarding last night, should you compensate me in some way?" Last night... He actually had the audacity to bring it up?
Anna tilted her chin. "Though I was the one who scared you first due to my timidity, you took advantage of me. We're even. Why should I compensate you?"
